After Firefox did a security update yesterday, I cannot stream Netflix. It is not any of my addons because I disabled them and still cannot stream.
I can no longer stream Netflix after the security update. I keep on getting a system requirements message form Netflix. It worked fine before the security update and I can stream on IE.

Firefox did an automatic update to 6.01, and now my middle mouse button is not working in the browser. It doesn't close tabs, it doesn't open new tabs by middle clicking a link, it doesn't allow me to middle click to scroll the page..

I'm on Firefox 3.6.21, and I got this problem today after a Greasemonkey update (To version 0.9.10, apparently).
Disabling Greasemonkey solved the problem, and re-enabling it reproduced the problem (middle-clicking links to open in new tab did not work, merely highlighted the link).
I should also note that while Greasemonkey was enabled and the bug was affecting me, Ctrl+Click to open links in new tabs was also broken.

EDIT 2: GREASEMONKEY HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED with a workaround to fix the problem. Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/versions/ to install the update manually. Just did a Security update 2014-002, Now everything loads very slow if at all
I can not load ANY 3rd party applications after this update. It took my machine 10-15 to boot up and after I finally got to the desktop, I can only open Apple apps. Applications like MS Office, Adobe Reader, Google Chrome are ALL crashing and loading error messages. Below is the first part of the kernel panic:

I would boot to CD and restore to last back-up before the security update, but since I'm in the middle of a move, I have no CD available. I'm running OS 10.7.5 because my machine can't run Mavericks.

I did the iTunes update yesterday and now I am getting this message when I try to open iTunes - “This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please re-install iTunes. (-42037) Can anybody help me out resolving this?
Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page, re-install. Back up your computer first.

iTunes Radio is currently only available in the US and Australia.

Open the Music App > More
If so, you can add it back to the Music app dock by tapping Edit (top right) and drag the radio icon to the dock at the bottom. -
I just did the new update yesterday and today my Macbook-Pro consumed 60% of battery on 4 hours.
My computer is consuming too much battery since i did the update yesterday. What could be the reason?
I have it open but it looks different. It does says that my computer is performing fine and the applications I am using are not consuming too much memory. I don't know what's going on. I did all the updates yesterday, keynote, iMovie, iPhoto, and others. I haven't had to do any updates today. I have being just doing homework for school. I was actually just using 2 web pages and word at the same time, using wi-fi and battery came down to 40% in less than 4 hours. :-(

After Security update 2012-001 cannot save any Office 2004 file
I installed the Office 2012-001 Security Update on a MacBook Pro running Macos 10.6.8
After that, I opened an attached Excel file from an email (received with Entourage), I performed some formula changes and wanted to save the document with a different name. I saw some changes to the screen as if the File saving Window would appear, but instead the whole program crashed. I could not perform any further changes to the file, basically all of the menus were blank, including the Quit menu. I had to Force quit the program. I thought it was only Excel, but Word also behaves the same. I am able to open any Office file with the corresponding Pages-Numbers program and save the file in the appropriate Office format, but I cannot perform any changes using the Office programs. I am writing this question here on the Apple Support Communities because I am almost sure that this behavior happened after I installed the Security Update 2012-001. After reading some of the latest support questions, I performed a Permissions repair on the StartUp disk but nothing changed.
Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.Also:
Apparently some are reporting that this causes the older PowerPC (PPC) applications that are supported in 10.6 via 'Rosetta' to crash upon attempting to open/save/print using any dialog box, or fail in other similar ways such as simply not printing or quitting, or freezing/hanging/crashing of the application.

If you are unsure if you are still using PowerPC apps, if the application is currently running, look under the 'Activity Monitior' (in Applications -> Utilities), or alternatively you could check in the System Profiler, Applications. Check the column "Type".
Here is a fairly simple way you can restore you system and restore you applications functionality again, if you don't have a recent clone or good Time Machine backup that you can restore from. If you do, restore from your backup prior to having installed the Security Update 2012-001.

If you are restoring a backup made by a Mac to the same Mac
With your backup drive connected, start up your Mac from the Lion recovery partition (Command-R at startup) or Mac OS X v10.6 installation disc. Then use the "Restore From Time Machine Backup" utility. Select the backup prior to your issues, and it will be restored back to the state it was in at that time.

Each time my iMac reboots I am prompted to enter my FaceTime password. This just started occurring after the most recent security update. When I put my password in the pop up just comes back, if I press cancle it goes away. Any ideas on how to get rid of this annoying popup?
I had the same problem. Try this. Launch FaceTime. Click the toggle to turn it off; or Command-K. Quit. Do a restart, you shouldn't get the popup. You could then turn FaceTime back on if you wish. Either way, the popup should be gone from then on.

Use a program like YamiPod to export the playlists back into iTunes.

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index

Loss of FN-Keys after installation of Microsoft security updates on L500
I'm using a satellite L500-19U
After installation of Microsoft security updates the FN keys lost their functin except the Brightness + / - function.
also the soft keys which appear at the upper monitor border by pressing the FN key didn't appear after the security packages were installed.
I solved The problem by removing the update by means of the roll-back function (Wiederherstellungs punkt) of W7.
The following security packages are selected to be installed:

Security update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB979683)

I have checked the history of updates on my computer and all of them are installed except for Windows MRT x64 - April 2010 (KB890830) (malicoius software removal tool). Everything works fine, try to remove this update. -
Security Update 2007-005 - Cannot find Server under Server Admin
After I installed Security Update 2007-005 all my machines began to have problems. I was able to get them all running except my server, it is a PowerMac G4 running Mac OSX Server 10.4.9. When I click on my server in Server Admin it acts as though the server does not exist. I am able to boot to the machine and connect to the shared drives from my client computers. However the web server is not working at all.

This is intersting! Whats described is not mentioned in any Apple Server documentation that I’ve seen – perhaps someone knows different? I’ve never seen a padlock icon in Server Admin Services list. My experience has been you can connect to Server Admin and it shows green against services running, or you can’t connect but have the server left in the list and all services are red. Workgroup Manager shows a padlock if you are not authenticated to Open Directory node, is this what you mean? -

I have 3 iTunes courses that i downloaded using my iPad. After syncing my iPad with iTunes on my mac, these 3 courses do not appear on my mac iTunes library yet they are still on my iPad.
I have 2 other courses that I downloaded frim my iPad and these appeared on my iTunes (mac) library.
Any idea why the other 3 that i downloaded were not synced in iTunes?You and the iPad can function with the Remote App from across the room, or in another room.
However, your stereo system has to have a way to communicate or connect with the computer. Unless it has some kind of wifi connector or has Bluetooth, I don't see how you can do this.
There is no app or software to resolve this. You need a way for the stereo to connect.
