After home sharing my pc and my ipad2 I still have no access to my songs from my iTunes on pc even though I signed in with the same ID on my pad2.what is the operator error I make?

I tried to find it out myself but even though apple is quite idiot proof I still manage my way around it.:-)
Found my apple IDs, my passwords, my voucher I thought I'd lost but to get my iTunes songs I have on my old pc onto my ipad2 I need a degree!
It seems that even though I clicked on home sharing and connected the device to the pc that nothing gets transferred.:-(
It gets better, I actually bought a MacBook air but my pc doesn't recognise the hardrive which I'd like to use for important files to transfer to my mac.
Now I have a knackered pc a pretty but empty mac no music on it but probably one click away!
Oh, did I mention that I have a kindle device but don't seem to be able to connect it to my iPad?
I know latest now you are laughing and suggesting to get rid of my technology and be better of living without any electricity to prevent me from injuries.
That's nice of you but doesn't help me as stubborn as I am.
I guess if you won't help me I will find out eventually!

If they are in the iPad's Music app then the only way to get them out of it is by connecting the iPad to a computer. As they aren't iTunes purchases you won't be able to copy them back to a computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, instead you will need a third-party program on the computer to copy them off - there are some listed half-way down this page which should work: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

Have you plugged in your iPhone to the computer? In iTunes > File > Devices you should be able to "Transfer Purchases."
In iTunes > Store have you authorised the computer?

If you are in the US or Canada you can download purchased music from the Purchased link in the iTunes store.
Otherwise if the disk drive is OK in your Old PC you can remove it and put it in a USB drive enclosure and then use it as an external disk on your new PC, then you copy the muisc from there.

If you've not yet tried, unpower the AppleTV for a minute or so and restart - this occasionally corrects issues.
If not and the software update seems to have caused an issue, go to the Settings menu and choose to Restore it (this will erase all settings) to reapply current firmware.

After installing ios5, itunes randomly opens up on my desktop on my laptop computer. Not just when I start my computer but when I'm on it. itunes just opens. I've searched settings in itunes and my desktop and don't know where to go to stop this from happening. itunes will just open. I've rebooted laptop and tried signing out of itunes and it still happens. Anyone have any suggestions on how to make this stop??

While it is clearly the wifi syncing that is causing it, the device almost never shows up in the device list, and I've already unchecked that box. It's not easy to switch the library a device is attached to. If possible you should backup the library from your wife's laptop and restore to an alternate location on your computer. If you can't manage that right now (note a laptop drive can often be mounted in an external drive bay to extract data from it even if the operating system is hosed) then this is an alternative approach...
You should be able to:
Backup the device to your computer.
Transfer the purchases into a library authorized for the accounts used on the device.
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer.
Restore the device from the backup.
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

How do I get firefox to stop telling me it stopped the web site I am on from opening a new window even though it has gone to the next page I have clicked on?

This happens even on my banking sites and bill pay sites. The little bar comes down at the top of the page. Gives me the option of allow, when I right click it does not do anything. I have to click the x or allow to make it go away.

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your device for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.

Change of functionality in deleting songs from iCloud/iTunes Match with the 11.0.2 version of iTunes?

I updated to iTunes 11.0.2 and this version brought a change of wording regarding deleting songs from iCloud/iTunes Match, and I'd like to know if there are any changes in functionality to match the change in wording:
With version 11.0.2, when I try to delete any song (uploaded, matched or purchased) I'm presented with a pop-up dialog box that asks me if I'm sure and also gives me a "Also hide this song from iCloud?" option.
In prior iTunes versions the pop-up dialog box would ask instead "Also delete this song from iCloud?".
Has the functionality changed? If so, what's the difference in functionality between 11.0.2 and previous versions? If the functionality of deleting songs has changed, how do I delete an uploaded song from both my local library and iCloud/iTunes Match?

TS2776 I can't drag songs from my iTunes Library to create a Playlist: I get a 'cancelled circle' icon over the song title as I try to drag it.

When I try to drag songs from my iTunes Library to create a playlist, nothing happens. The title appears to move but it has a 'cancelled circle' icon superimposed on it and nothing happens to the Playlist. It almost looks as if the Playlist is 'greyed out'??

I have had this as well, since updating itunes and it is a normal playlist. I have been able to add 2 but all the others I have tried come up with the cancelled circle and it is very frustrating as I used to be able to create playlists and drag whatever I wanted into them!

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.

I also have the same problem, but the Software Updates tool doesn't recognise that Quicktime is out of date. Have you tried downloading Quicktime 7.7 Leopard from http://support.apple.com/downloads/#quicktime as this worked for me...?
