After I loaded Mac OS lion, it won't let me install my Sierra Wireless telstra. It keeps telling me to install it even though i already have. help please?

Check for new 64 bit software for the modem, other wise you I'll probably have to boot your Mac in 32 bit mode first.. And then every time you want to go online.
I have the Sierra wireless 306 and have their 64 bit lion software installed. Works well.
Best.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Whenever i try to install an app frorm my iMac to my iPod it tells me i need to authorise my mac even though i already have any help anyone?

    Howdy there 15itechnic,
It sounds like you are getting a prompt when trying to use iTunes to sync an app to your iPod that you need to authorize your computer but it already is. I would next verify that the app in question was purchased with the same Apple ID as the one that you have iTunes authorized.  The following article will help you find the Account Name. Open iTunes and go to the Apps section under Library in the Sidebar.
Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1920
    Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
    Choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Lion Recovery won't let me restore my system back on and keep saying its password protected or damaged when neither of them is the case.

I was trying to restore a Time Machine backup from my time Capsule back to my MacBook Pro, it showed up in the list of sources available, but when I selected it the message showed up saying the file is either password protected and you have typed in the wrong password, or the file is damaged. The file is not password protected and I have verfied that the file is not damaged with disk utility, can anyone tell me what is going on? I would kill myself if I have to lose that data its all I have.

You should always keep at least TWO copies of your data at all times.
Don't depend on a backup alone to save you from possible issues, as that backup can fail.
Some Apple Stores do have data recovery services in shop.  Check with your local one.

  • When I try to download OS X Lion my Macbook says that I need at least 2 GB of memory even though I already have it

My MacBook says I have 17.41 GB available but the Mac App Store will not let me dowload OS X Lion. It says "We could not complete your purchase. Mac OS X 10.7 requires at least 2 GB of memory."
What does this mean? This is confusing me.

The warning is in regard to RAM memory not space on your hard drive. Your computer needs 2 GBs of RAM for Lion. You will need to upgrade your RAM to at least 2 GBs in order to use Lion. I suggest more if the computer can accommodate more than 2 GBs.

  • How do I uninstall iPhoto from my MacBook Pro? It won't let me shut down my computer cause it keeps telling me to wait for my images to import, but there isn't anything importing...?

I can't shut my computer down side my iPhoto app is telling me that it's importing pictures, but not is happening & I wanted to uninstall iPhoto to see if that would work. Please some one help me! This is annoying.

The "Importing" message can be cause by a corruption of your iPhoto library - then uninstalling will not help. Try this:
    Force Quit iPhoto:
From the -menu in the upper left corner of the screen:   > Force quit ⌥⌘⎋
Then select iPhoto from the panel.
Then fix your iPhoto library and remove the "Importing" folder from the library  -
see this post by LarryHN how to do it:

    what should i do?

Make sure that your Apple ID is up to date by going to "Apple ID" on a Apple website, answer your DOB, security questions.
Create a new password for Apple if necessary.
**Game Center, iCloud, iTune must have the same ID and the password.
Then on the setting on your phone, go to "General", scroll down and make sure that "Restriction" is OFF.
Go to Apple app.... you should be able to reload the app.
I just followed the instructions on "support.apple.com"
    Good Luck!

  • After upgrading to Mac OS Lion, even after installing Java manually, some web pages don't download and appear blank whereas Firefox works

After upgrading to Mac OS Lion, even after installing Java manually, some web pages don't download and appear blank whereas Firefox and Opera work. Can someone help?

Might be a third party Safari addon that was compatible with Snow Leopard but not Lion that's preventing pages to load. That add on may not have any effect on the other browsers, just Safari.
Read here  >  Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Also, if you have Little Snitch or Peer Guardian or anti virus sofware installed on your Mac, that might prevent pages to load also.

The first step in Upgrading... is to Snow Leopard = OS X 10.6.x
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
Snow Leopard Tech Specs  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard and iTunes.
Be sure to make a Backup of your Current System Before Upgrading...

Trying to install OS X lion and won't let me. I keep getting this: (This deisk is used to Time Machine backups)   and I am using an external HD for my time machine

Just unplug the Time Machine hard drive and any other unnecessary peripherals while upgrading to Lion.

  • It's asking me to pay for Lion again, even though I already did.

I am running OSX Lion on this computer that I'm typing to you from. I paid for it from the app store.
I want to download it again so I can make a bootable copy so I can reformat my drive. When I go to the app store, its asking me to pay 29.99 for it, even though I already did.
I am 110% sure that I am signed into the same apple ID that I used to purcahse it.
I went to the purchased tab, and I saw it there, but it did not have any option to download it. Silly me, clicked the little "x" and now its not showing up in my purchased list.
    What do I do?

    Hi...
You may have inadvertently "hidden" the purchase.
Follow the instructions here > Mac App Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

  • Iphone 4 just turned itself off, won't turn on again - sleep/wake button hasn't worked for a while - tried charging (even though it was 50% charged when it shut down) and that makes no difference....tried usb to computer and directo to wall socket. help?

phone 4 just turned itself off, won't turn on again - sleep/wake button hasn't worked for a while - tried charging (even though it was 50% charged when it shut down) and that makes no difference....either via usb to computer and direct to wall socket. Any suggestions...other than heading off to the genius bar tomorrow?

Well, the sleep/wake button is also the power button. If you cannot use it to turn on, then you cannot use it to perform a reset by holding it and the home button together until you see the Apple logo. Those are the only two ways to turn the device on. You can try letting the battery go completely dead and then trying to plug it in. After it has charged for 20-30 minutes, the device may come back on. But, without the sleep/wake button, there is no other way to turn the device on or off.
