After I type in my login details and press "enter" on a website, Firefox freezes for around half minute. This has gone on for around 5 months. I've tried disabling add-ons to my Firefox but they don't seem to affect this problem. My version is 17.0.1.
How do I combat this problem? Many thanks in advance.

When I start Firefox, about 15 seconds after I start it, my Firefox freezes for about 1 minute. I found out that it is my Hotmail that makes Firefox freeze.

After Window 10 Upgrade my login Username and password failed

I use Hp Pavilion g6 Notebook PC 32-bit. This morning I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I don't really know if the upgrade was successful completed. At a point a blue screen appeared with a dialog box for me to type in my username and password. When I type in my Username & Password and press enter nothing happens. It will not even tell me whether the Username or password is incorrect. I cannot login into my Laptop again. When I click on Sleep or restart or shutdown, none of these works. I regretted upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10. If I had known I would have remained in Windows 7. At this point now I cannot make use of my Laptop. Please, how do I solve this problem?

I am still waiting for an answer to the problem I complained. I am really regretting upgrading to Windows 10. My major problem now is that I cannot login into my Laptop because the Windows 10 does not recognize my Username & Login password any longer. It does not tell me if the Username & password is right or wrong. If there is anyway I can solve this issue I would be very happy. I use my laptop daily at least 12hrs a day on the internet. Sites won't load after I type it and press enter.

I tried to get firefox 3.6 at start but everytime i type a certain url in the address bar and press enter, it won't load. I always needed to click the go button using my mouse.
I tried IE and GC but they both load all websites when I press enter.

Get safari feature where you type a letter and press enter and have it go to the webpage

I like firefox much more than safari, but I really like the safari feature where it suggests webpages. For example, say the last webpage I went on that starts with an "f" is facebook. All I would need to do is type in "f" and press enter and it will take me to facebook. Is there an extension or something that will bring that feature to firefox?

Using Automator to insert Username and press "Enter"

Hello all, this is my first post so I'm trying to keep it relatively simple. Basically, I have only ever used Automator for very light, easy tasks.
This is one I am trying to make for a friend for an automated voting process on a gaming website.
The link is here: http://www.minetown.net/vote - As you can see, it asks for a Username, and pressing "Enter" will suffice, to take you to the next page.
My problem is getting automator to click the box and type in the username. Thus far, I have managed to get automator to open the webpage (Hooray!) but when adding the "Run AppleScript" action, I realised I had very little knowledge of this indeed.
If anybody could explain how to make such a script, or even paste it for me! It would be greatly appreciated.
If it helps, pressing TAB 12 times brings you to the box, I'm sure it is possible to automate pressing TAB 12 times, or even cut out the middle man and get it to click the box automatically, I wouldn't know to be honest...

Hello jberg62, If the system is a newer model, as you suggest with Windows 7 installed. You may be able to restore the system back to the factory state by booting the system, and when the HP Logo screen appears, start tapping the F-11 key and see if you can enter the HP Recovery Restore Utility.
If you manage to get to this, select the destructive method and the hard drive will be formatted and all the data will be wiped from the hard drive and all the original software will be reinstalled just as it was when shipped from HP.
When the system reboots, you will be required to enter the user information just as it was done when the system was first booted when received form HP.
After the recovery process completes, go to the Windows update site and download and install all the available Windows updates.

Firefox freezes for up to a minute when I have two tabs open, one playing a YouTube video, the other with a flash game running, and the screen shows the contents of both tabs, one superimposed on the other. If I have other tabs open, they also appear as visual garbage on the same screen. After the freeze, everything semi-works, starting and stopping, with long frozen hangs.The frequency of this problem is increasing and greatly reduces Firefox's operating capacity. I am using Firefox 5.0 on a Windows Vista desktop made by Hewlett-Packard. I have cleared the caches and the problem persists, and I can't find any online help to explain why this is happening. I don't recall it happening with a previous version of Firefox.
