After installing the new Adobe reader update I can not view pdf files on line. I an only view downloaded ones.
version is 10.1.3. Two of my friends are having the same problem.
my mac is OSX version 10.7.3 2.66 core 2 duo with 2 GB of 800 mhz ddr2
Back up all data.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
If you still have the issue, repeat the above steps using this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Save the file locally, open the Reader application and try to open it from there. If it still doesn't work provide the full details of your OS, Reader version and the exact error message you're getting when you try to open the file.

The problem is with version 10.4.1. I had to reload 10.3 to get it to work. The recommendation from a previous poster worked for me. Here was their list of steps:
Go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall
2. Uninstall the following Apple programs in the following order:
a. iTunes
b. QuickTime
c. Apple Software Update
d. Apple Mobile Devices Support
e. Bonjour
f. Apple Appllcation Support
3. Reboot PC
4. Find, Download and Install iTunes 10.3 (you can find it at FileHippo.com)
If you start iTunes now you will get an error message saying that the current iTunes library was created by a newer version of iTunes. To correct this:
5. Go to your Music>iTunes folder and delete the "iTunes Library.itl" database file
6. Within this iTunes folder find and open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and locate the most recently dated "iTunes Library (date).itl" database file.
7. Copy and Paste this file back into the iTunes folder
8. Rename this "iTunes Library (date).itl" file by removing the date. It should say "iTunes Library.itl"
9. Reboot PC -
After installing the latest version of iTunes, I can no longer export music files converted by EZ Vinyl Conversion software to iTunes, which is the only export option available in the software. I have been converting my vinyl records, tapes and cd's to MP3 files in iTunes for about a year now, and have well over 1000 man-hours invested in this effort. I tried restoring the last version of iTunes, but it will no longer read my library, as, apparently, the new version modified the library file(s) in some way. I want to reenable this export-import function to finish my archival. What is necessary ???
Apparently, security programs like Macafee and Norton view Itunes updates as new programs and block then from access. If you add Itunes to the list of exemptions, it solves the problem.

It is not broken. It works for me and it has always worked for me - every version of iBooks in every version of the iOS that I have ever run on my iPad. Therefore - I do not think that it is broken - or it would not work for me - and for countess others using iBooks and the current iOS version 5.1.1.
What have you done or tried to this point in order to get rectify the situation with iBooks? Have you restarted your iPad, quit iBooks completely and then tried again? Rebooted the device? Uninstalled and reinstalled iBooks?

Since the cloud has been updated, I can not see my files on safari. Why?

I just need to know how to get FF to "pick up" the new version of Acrobat Reader that is already on my computer. I got a new work computer, and don't have admin privileges to install AR as a plug-in on FF. The new version is fully installed -- just not in FF. I'm running Win7 and FF 18.0.1.

I notice in your "More system details" list you have this, which sounds promising:

If you check the following tab, is it enabled?

If it's enabled, is the problem that Firefox still wants to launch PDFs externally? If so, you might need to change a setting here:

In the search box on that tab, type pdf and pause while the list is filtered. You normally get two or more entries and there are drop-down boxes on the right side to choose how to open them. Does that work? -

Yes, I was able to open PDFs until I downloaded the new version as per the alert on my MacBook Pro. I was using Adobe Reader often.
I downloaded whatever they sent me my way (11?) and my operating system is Mac05 (10.5.8-10.9 English).The message says I’ve already downloaded it. It didn’t mention file.org. I looked in my preferences and didn’t see Adobe Reader, only Flash Player.
I’m not terribly computer savvy, so I’m trying to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated. -
Since upgrading to 3.6.15 and Adobe Reader X I can't open PDF files
If I try and open a PDF file get message saying problem with Adobe reader, if it is running exit and try again. However it is not running. I then get a blank screen. If I close FF next time I try to open it a message says FF is already running and I have to reboot to clear the problem. This happens on both my desktop running XP and my laptop running Vista but only since I upgraded to 3.6.15. I upgraded Adobe to Ver X a week ago and it worked fine until the latest FF update.
The problem doesn't happen in IE.The same as all other Mac apps. Which is to say:
Open Finder.
Look in the left column for Applications.
Click to open.
Find Adobe Reader. Open a folder if needed.
Double click to launch Adobe Reader. -
After installing the 10.8.3 update I can no longer use my scanner
I just updated my MacBook Pro to 10.8.3. When I try to open my scanner, I get a blank window with disabled "Hide Overview", "Overview", and "Scan" buttons. Anyone else have similar problems? I'm getting pretty frustrated with these updates. Apple is beginning to look a lot lot Microsoft.

Adobe reader 11.0.5 - cannot print pdf file to network printer
I have a 64 bit HP Pavilion a6230n PC running Windows 7, fully updated. I have wireless connection to a home file/printer server. My printer, a Brother HL-5140, is connected via USB to the file/printer server. All my other Windows programs capable of printing can print on the network printer - all except adobe reader. Adobe Reader sees the printer and all printing processes appear to be sending the file to the printer, however, the printer never gets the document. I've tried printing as a document, in which case the document sits in the printer queue until I delete it. If I send it as an image, each queue entry is deleted after adobe thinks it has printed. Again, nothing ever prints on the printer, and again, no other program running on my computer has any problems printing to this printer.
I would appreciate any help with this problem.
Addendum - 4 Nov 13:
I uninstalled adobe reader 11 and installed a much earlier version, and now I can print pdf files. Clearly the printing issue is with the current versions of adobe reader.This phenomenon can happen with PDF files that have errors in them. Adobe Reader or Acrobat may be able to fix these errors, but if you close the application, it will ask to save the corrected file. If you save it once, that should no longer occur when you open it again.
This is just one explanation, but it doesn't explain why that happens with every PDF you have.

My free Adobe Reader has expired. I tried uninstalling the Reader and installing the new Free Reader trial, but my system still will not open a PDF file and states I need to subscribe to Adobe. Any way around this?

Updating from Reader to Acrobat should not have deleted anything from your device. This was just another update that changed the name and icon, and added some new features for Acrobat DC Pro subscribers. Everything else for our Reader users should have remained the same.
I have a couple of questions:
Were you logged in to Acrobat.com, and were your files stored on Acrobat.com? If so, you may need to ensure that you log in to Document Cloud (the new name for Acrobat.com) to see the files.
Did you delete Reader from your device before installing the new Acrobat app? If so, unfortunately when you delete an app iOS deletes all of the local storage that app uses. For iOS to keep your files around, you need to just let iOS Update, rather than our users deleting and installing fresh. If this is what happened, I'm sorry, but I don't know how to retrieve your files.
