After itunes and q/time upgrade I get an error #63440

after the itunes and q/time upgrade whenever I try to acsess anything via q/time i get an error #63440 quick time was not found even though it is on my machine and I have removed and re-installed.

OK, here's something else to try (with thanks to B Noir and Mark Stejskal for the suggestion):
It's possible that the problem is due to an error in permission in the Windows Registry. To check (and correct) that issue, you'll need to run the Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> regedit). Look for the HKEYLOCALMACHINE section and find SOFTWARE -> Apple Computer, Inc -> Quicktime. Click on the QuickTime folder to highlight it, select Permissions under the Edit menu (or right-click on the folder and select Permissions), and make sure that your user is listed and that you have full permission. If not, correct that and see if the problem is then fixed. You may also need to check the subfolders/keys.
If you're uncomfortable working the registry permissions, you may be able to achieve the same result by uninstalling QuickTime, going into the Registry, and deleting the entire QuickTime folder (again, in HKEYLOCALMACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Apple Computer, Inc. and then reinstalling QuickTime.

I received the same error and spent roughly an hour and a half troubleshooting with the Apple Customer Support before I was told that it was a Windows or Lenovo manufacturer issue -- something to do with a registry key -- and that this was outside the realm of Apple Customer Support.
If you are able to resolve it, I would be interested in knowing how.

Downloading iTunes and Quick Time in Software Update with Error

When I was upgrading my iTunes software (the mobile me and safari went fine). This error message pops up.
Out of disk space-- Volume: 'G:'; required space: 127,640 KB; available space: 0 KB. Free some disk space and retry.
I do not have a disk G on my computer so I do not know where I need to clear this from. If you could help, that would be great, if you need more information from my computer please ask.

That one is often a compatibility mode problem. Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

Remove "MacKeeper" as follows. First, back up all data.
"MacKeeper" is a scam with only one useful feature: it deletes itself.

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Hi there,
Earlier iTunes (and supporting applications) need to be completely uninstalled before you can install the new version. Here's the complete Apple info on this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Mobile device application will most likely fail to uninstall, so you would need to visit its location(s) and manually delete the files then folder(s). The location of the folders is documented in this link from Apple.
It's a pain, but it should work.
