After opening my yahoo mail window, I keep getting a very short and narrow dialogue box with the words "log into Xmarks" I cannot ... when it pops up, always upper left of my laptop screen and I try to get into my yahoo mail web page, I get a DING sound and cannot enter it ... everything is frozen. I have to hit CNTRL + ALT + ESC to get rid of it - and then reload my Firefox browser to get back to my yahoo e-mail page ... fortunately for me, Firefox re-stores a previous session ... Please read before going through with this procedure.
If you really want your contact back and you did not do another iCloud backap since you deleted some of your contacts, you can do a hard reboot on both devices with iClouded contacts by holding down the home and lock buttons on each of them for 10 seconds ignoring the slide to turn off thing. Make sure you have iCloud contact services off before doing so. You can then go through the whole set up process until you get up to the backup part. You then press to restore from an iCloud backup (make sure you choose the right backup for the right phone). If you didn't make an iCloud backup before the contact incident, you will have to use your two-month-old iTunes backups. Each phone should have their contacts the way they were from your last backup. You then go into Settings>iCloud>and turn off contacts. You then can choose if you want to keep your current contacts or not. Turn this off on both phones just incase you add another iCloud device to the mix later on. Now your contact lists are no longer linked (Caution: side effect may include lack of edit button). You may now add and delete contacts as you please without it happening on your other phone.

When I open Firefox I have to hit control alt delete then ESC to perform any key function. I'm good for one operation and then I have to hit control alt delete again to unlock things. This does not happen with Internet Explorer.

HT1473 iTunes sometimes seperates songs from the same cd into 2 different albums, from one disc. how can I correct this?

I've been adding cd's to iTunes on my Mac Book Pro. Sometimes, it splits songs off of a single cd and treats these songs like a seperate album. I've changed artist and album artist info, checked the compilation box, and burned the cd's a second (third, etc) time, but can't get the problem corrected. Anyone else having these problems? Some of the cd's are from the 80's and 90's, so that may be one reason for the difficulty. Can't seem to find a correction. I can create playlist of these cd's, but I'd like to have them as the album in their entirety. So far, Bongo Fury by Zappa/Beefheart is giving me the most trouble; the first song always remains seperate from the other 8 songs. The disc is from 1989. Any ideas, anyone?

The iPad does not sync to an iTunes account, it syncs to an iTunes library. Sync the iPad again to your daughter's computer and uncheck all of the music that is currently on the iPad to remove it.
Connect the iPad to your daughter's computer, launch iTunes, click on the iPad name on the left sidebar under Devices, then click on the Music Tab at the top of the iTunes window, uncheck the box next to Sync Music, a dialog box will pop up asking if you are sure ... the music will be removed ... click Don't Sync Music, then click apply in the lower right corner of iTunes and it should remove all of the music.

Change the password on your iCloud account and on any other email accounts.
If you had Find My Mac setup on the Mac Air you could log in to your iCloud account at iCloud.com, go to the Find My Mac section and either wipe the Air clean or lock it.
That's pretty drastic and might bring consequenses.

You should be syncing your contacts/calendars to your computer regularly ( Outlook for example).

Form and search history is disabled- can you tell me why this is and give me some simple steps to fixing it?I've tried reading forums and support to no avail :(

This happens if there is no form history to clear (you probably already cleared it).
Is saving form history enabled?

Have been using Mac from early on. My present MacBook Pro has 3 previous computers and information installed on it.
The question is, I have been using Appleworks/Clarisworks for years for my business. Would like to save that history before moving to Lion. I know you can convert the files individually from .cwk file to pages, but I have nearly 6,000 files to convert.
Is there some way to convert them to pages and numbers or .doc files in mass?

Obvious question, but have you got 'Find My iPhone' set on both devices? Settings>iCloud>Find My iPhone.

Why is my computer now slower, with Firefox 4, then it was with previous version? It stops and crashes constantly. How can I go back to the previous version?

When I am on Facebook or playing a game, it will freeze and I have to hit control alt delete, to get any response. Within a couple more seconds the same problem occurs. I did not have this problem with the previous version.

I tried so hard with FF4 but no deal. It was considerably MUCH slower than 3.6. Every page just had a 2~3 second wait before it loaded up. This was tested on a brand new Windows 7 64-bit install machine too.
Flash ran much more cpu intensive as well. I played many flash based games in 3.6 and my cpu usage was never always as it was with FF4 in the 90%-100% range.
I had to get rid of it due to the slowness and the lack of older plugin support: ANYCOLOR which I must run and cannot stand the light colored menu pop ups. Also the buttons in FF4 are worse than 3.6. You can't see them when you have a persona applied.
Staying with 3.6 until 4 speeds up or will give 4.1 a try.

And while buying said faster card... buy a REPUTABLE brand from a reputable vendor. I've come to the conclusion that there are a lot of fly-by-nights making cards that are not as fast as they claim to be.
Reputable vendors are companies like Sandisk and Lexar. But as an SD card is just a plastic card with a sticker on it, and stickers are pretty easy to fake, buy the card from a vendor you can trust is not selling fakes.
This is one item where it is probably not a good idea to try to save money by finding the cheapest deal you can find on the Internet.
