After system restore bookmarks have gone no old profiles exist can they be retrieved

Hi, my laptop did a system restore after crashing without me being able to backup anything ie bookmarks etc everything in the new firefox folder is dated 06/02/2014 so i cannot see or get my old bookmarks back any help appreciated. running vista and latest firefox.

Can you see the old profile in your desktop?
Yes, enter in your profile folder, enter in bookmarks folder there are about 10 backups? Are they .json file? if yes go to Firefox '''Bookmarks''' >> '''Show all bookmarks''' >> '''Import and backup''' >> '''Restore''' >> '''Chose File''' then select one fo that json files
No, try go to your profile, maybe it still in Mozilla folder:

  • After system restore i reinstalled firefox, how to get back bookmarks etc with old firefox data?

After system restore the only thing i have is old firefox data on desktop if all bookmarks, passwords are recovered it will be great help.
    P.S
i reinstall firefox from drive other than c ,that was in downloaded form.
    Thanks

The "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop has been created as the consequence of resetting Firefox.
Doing a Session Restore may have reverted the profiles.ini file to a previous version that hasn't registered the new profile folder that a reset had created, so you may need to check for this.
    * C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
If you have a profile folder that is more recent than the "Old Firefox Data" on the desktop then you can use edit the profiles.ini file and change the path of the currently default profile to the name of the profile folder as you find in Document and Settings.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
It is always best to be cautious with using System Restore as this can cause some file to be replaced with older copies, i.e. your Firefox installation and profile folder can get inconsistent and you may have to reinstall Firefox as well.

  • After restart, MANY bookmarks are GONE....  where are they???

Recently I have had to do a lot of install/restart... install/restart.... install restart (about 8 so far today)... that is annoying enough in itself, but then I noticed that a ton of my bookmarks are GONE. Where the heck are they and how to I get them back....???
and how do I make that blue marble stop bouncing..... I'm tired of the install/restarts already!!!!!
    Thanks.

Safari bookmarks should be found in /Users/<your name>/Library/Safari and are named 'Bookmarks.plist' If you can't find them there then do a search of your Mac or alternatively if you have a backup restore them from there.
sig is quite correct in saying that some updates won't show up until after another update or updates have been done so it is not unusual to have to go through the update process more than once. However, it would appear from what you have posted that something is not working properly as the number of times you say that Software Update has run appears to be excessive. I suggest you start by opening Disk Utility and repairing permissions then run Software Update, make a note of the updates installed including the versions. Open Software Update again and see if the updates listed to be installed are new or the same ones you have just installed. If they are new updates then install them and repeat the process until you get a message to the effect that your software is up to date. In the event that you see updates that should have been installed but weren't then go to the Apple Downloads page, search for the relevant software, download it and try to install from the downloaded file.
Post back if you have any problems.

  • How to recover hp pre-installed games and office after system restore for HP Mini 210-4127se?

how to recover hp pre-installed games and office after system restore for HP Mini 210-4127se?

    Hi,
You can reinstall them from Recovery Manager by clicking on Start=> All Programs.
If you have performed a complete HP Recovery using F11 then all the software should be there. If you have performed a minimized recovery then you can install applications from recovery manager...If none of these works then you'll need USB recovery..
Here are the links that will guide you through the process:
Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)
Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7)
    Order USB Recovery
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
**Click on “Kudos” Star if you think this reply helped** Or Mark it as "Solved" if issue got fixed.

  • Quicktime issues after system restore

After system restore we had to reinstall games which required quicktime. after which I reinstalled itunes, but it wouldn't install without completely uninstalling everything for quicktime. reinstalled updated quicktime and itunes, but now games aren't working. Uninstalled games and reinstalled it, but still getting macromedia projector error message. Suggestion is to reinstall quicktime. I feel like I am going in circles. Appreciate any suggestions

still getting macromedia projector error message.

    hi Jain,
you may need to check the transfer structures,
right click infosource and 'change', click 'comm.structure'/expand,
click 'transfer', move the 0BASE_UOM from left to right side,
or if you wont use the comm structure anymore, you can right click infosource and 'delete comm structure'
    hope this helps.

You cannot.  If someone else told you there is a way then they will need to show you.  After Effects requires a 64-bit system and the latest release requires Mac OS X v10.8 or v10.9 minimum

  • Access Time Machine partial backup after system restore

My iMac crashed. I ran Disk Utility Repair Disk on the hard drive and received this message: "Disk Utility can't repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files".
I had had Time Machine backing up regularly wirelessly, and previously hadn't noticed any problem with it. So I thought everything had been backed-up properly.
I reformatted the hard drive and chose to restore the system from Time Machine back-up. It turned out that you can only restore from full system back-ups and my Time Machine hadn't made a full back-up for half a year! Previously it had made full back-ups every 2 or 3 days then it stopped doing full back-ups half a year ago without any warning.
I went ahead with the system restore from the half-year-old full backup thinking that I would be able to access the partial back-ups once the system is restored. But I can't! If I access Time Machine, the most recent back-up I can see is the half-year-old full backup from which I restored the system. There are documents, music and hundreds of photos, originally saved to the hard drive since the last full back-up, that I cannot access, even though Time Machine had been backing up every day until the iMac crashed.
How can I retrieve these files from Time Machine?

You have likely dragged the size of the filmstrip thumbnails to a small size that prevents Lightroom from displaying the badges. Using your mouse, mouse over the top line of the filmstrip and then drag it supports to increase the size.
