After updating to Mavericks, I can't seem to open files to attach to gmail messages.

After updating to Mavericks, I can't seem to open files to attach to gmail messages. I can still drag and drop into them, but I'm unable to click on my documents through the paperclip icon on the bottom of composing my message.  Anyone else know a solution or facing the same issue?
Thanks!

  • After updating to Mavericks I can't open iTunes. I keep getting a popup telling me to unclick "run in 32- bit mode" in iTunes info. I have done that several times and rebooted. Everything else seems to be working fine.

After updating to Mavericks, I can't open iTunes. I keep getting  a pop up telling me iTunes needs to run in 64-bit mode. After following directions several times to go to Finder, iTunes, Get info and "unclick 32-bit mode" it still won't work and i keep getting the smae pop up window. I've rebooted several times also.

What version of iTunes do you have? The current version of iTunes for Mavericks is 11.1.5 and the default mode is 64 bit. If "Open in 32 bit mode" is checked and you cannot uncheck it are you logged on using an account with administrative priveleges?

I Just found it on the apple site, it arrived on a cd a few days later and worked just fine again.
i would recommend backing everything up just in case. Better safe than sorry, trust me. I've lost so much when i didnt back up once when re-installing the system.
IT shoulldnt erase everything, bt it might, so back up just in case

  • After updating to Mavericks, I can not display what is on the desktop to a projector.  What adjustment do I need to make?

After updating from Lion to Mavericks, I am unable to see what is on my desktop through a projector connected to my Mackbook Pro. Where do I make a change to a setting that will accomodate the use of a projector?
    Warren

Once again, Apple has decided they know the way you want to do this, and you will have to dig in the preferences to turn off these so-called "enhancements".
If you need an app window to span multiple displays [or work the way they used to work] deselect the option "Displays have separate Spaces" in the Mission Control pane of System Preferences.

  • After updating to Mavericks, password can not be changed anymore

I upgraded to Mavericks and encountered a serious security problem. In system prefs it is no longer possible to change any of the security settings on the "general" tab. It is possible to change the checkmarks, but after closing the sys prefs, the changes are ignored and the screen saver and auto-login checkmarks re-appear. It is also impossible to go to the advanced settings. Off course: I did first click the lock and entered my password.
Furthermore in the Users and Groups section I can not change my password, name or anything crucial. Clicking the checkmarks or on "change password" does give a short "movement" but nothing happens.
Is there another cure than reformatting the HDD and have aa clean install? I did use the repair option two times, but that does not change anything anyhow. It even remembers the Safari cache; so far for a repair install. I also manually delete the system prefs cache manually, all with no result
    I would appreciate the help.
    Regards
    Bob

    Hi Bob van A,
If it is allowing you to make changes in some cases, but not retaining those changes, the first thing I would do would be a permissions repair (unclear if this is what you meant by "use[ed] the repair option", or if you meant a volume repair). You may find the following article helpful:
Apple Support: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1452
Also, if it will allow you to create a new admin user, you may want to see if the issue persists in the new user, which will help to narrow down the possible causes.

  • After updating to Mavericks, I can no longer navigate to individual folders to save a file. HELP!

When I wanted to save a file before, I just chose "Save As" and the menu would appear that allowed me to navigate to the folder where I wanted to save the file. If the folder name didn't show up, then I could just double-click (say for example, "Documents"), and then it would display all the folders in that section, allowing me to choose the one where I wanted to save the file.
That isn't happening with Mavericks. How do I navigate to the individual folder where I want to save files?
    Thank you.

That only brings up the most recently used folders. It doesn't allow you to go past that list to get to others. (At least it isn't allowing me to.)

  • After updating to mavericks I have to constantly enter my apple ID for mail, iBooks, iTunes and many other applications that used to be part of my keychain. How can I get my log-in to work again?

After updating to mavericks I have to constantly enter my apple ID for mail, iBooks, iTunes and many other applications that used to be part of my keychain. How can I get my apple ID log-in to work again?

Several times I've re-entered my passwords under Preferences/Internet Accounts/iCloud and it won't save since I've installed Mavericks.  Also, the iCloud icon in the left column in Preferences/Internet Accounts/iCloud is greyed out but allows me to click on it to set-up.  When I click on iCloud the password is filled out but the "Enable this account" check-box is not checked.  I check it, and all seems correct.  The icon is no longer grey, the password is correct, the "activate this account" check-box is checked.  Then, when I launch mail, notes etc. I'm still prompted to re-enter my apple ID.  The log-in loop continues.  For years my keychain has worked perfectly.  What has changed in Mavericks?

  • Can't open Preview/Calendar/App store/iBooks/Terminal/Mail after updated to Mavericks

After I updated to Mavericks, I can not open Preview, Dictionary, App Store, iBooks, Keynotes, Photobooth, Quicktime, Contact, Calender, etc...
Mail keeps crashing everything I opened it.
iTunes and Safari is still working. Can someone tell me what's happening and how to solve my problem? Thanks a lot!
BTW, I remeber this symptom happened after I used Cleanmymac.

Evi, I have the same problem. When I first updated to Mavericks, everything is OK, but I use Cleanmymac too, It is may be because of Cleanmymac, it cleaned about 1G files.
Now I can not open App Store, how can I download and reinstall Mavericks?

  • I can not open Airport utility on my iMac after updating to maverick 10.90.4

I can not open Airport utility on my iMac after updating to maverick 10.9.4 . Error Message:[You can’t use this version of the application “AirPort Utility.app” with this version of OS X. Re-run Software Update and see if there is a newer version of Airport Utility. I suspect your router or iMac may be too old to use Airport Utility 6.3 . As a work- around if Software Update does not work then try reading this article and see if the suggested solution help you.
