AHT error code 4SNS/1/40000001:TB1T-0.00?

Running the long AHT on a Late 2008 (Unibody) MacBook Pro produced error code 4SNS/1/40000001:TB1T-0.00. I gather this is a logic board issue of some kind; does anyone know more about it?

Thanks; do you know what kind of "sensor"? I put the bottom plate back on, zapped the PRAM, and ran the short AHT, which passed. The fans came on, but went back down in a few minutes, so it seems like heat sensors might be okay. I'm going to run some maintenance routines and see what happens.
(A puppy peed on this MBP, and the owner brought it to me because it wouldn't start at all. I opened it up, found some ugly blue-green gunk, cleaned it, reset the SMC, and it started okay. Now I'm trying to figure out how serious the error reported by AHT is.)

  • What does AHT error code 4SNS/1/40000000:TB1T-128.000 mean?

My MacBook froze on me last night while running Firefox w/ 4 windows open, each with 6 or more tabs.  Seemed partly due to using the instant message ap on Facebook.  The machine forze with the beach ball spinning it's heart out.  Shut it down, restarted, and got a freeze during start up.  Tried again this morning and the machine seemed to run ok for a session, after which I closed the lid without shutting down.  After opeing the lid, the machine ran ok, then slow, then froze.  I eliminated peripheral problems, eliminated software problems, then ran an Apple Hardware Test.
    It produced the code:  4SNS/1/40000000:TB1T-128.00
This code does not show up in Google or this forum.  Any idea what it means or where I may find out what it means?  It's a late 2008 MacBook, so no warranty whatsoever.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I ran the hardware test on my MacBook unibody and got the same result. Did you ever get an answer as to what this code means? I haven't been able to Google it either.

  • Error code 4sns/1/40000001:tb1t-0.296?

Ran a diagnostics test on MacBook Pro and got this error message. What is it?

This may be a reference to sensors.
You have to take to take the computer to Apple store for a free diagnosis.
    Best.

  • Failure code:4SNS/1/40000001: TB1T-0.000

This is my first Mac, Its just perfect, i have no problems with it, but when i randomly run the Apple hardware test, it come up with this: Failure code: 4SNS/1/40000001: TB1T-0.000
can somebody help me with that?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
The "SNS" stands for "sensor", and the error code indicates a possible problem with a thermal sensor. Did you run the extended version of the Apple Hardware Test? Sometimes you will get this error if you run the quick version, and it may be something of a false positive. See if you also get it when you run the extended version.
Are your fans idling normally or running all out? If the latter, I would be more inclined to believe a problem with the sensor.
    Good luck!

  • What does error code 4sns/1/40000001: IDOR-0.000 mean?

I have a MacBook Pro modWhat does error code 4sns/1/40000001: IDOR-0.000 mean? My video display is partially striated and I ran the self test a few minutes ago.el 10,1 with an NVIDIA Ge ForceGT 650M graphics card with 1GB of VRAM.  When I turned on my laptop this morning the right 1/3 of the screen was black with red and multicolored lines, I had to reduce my window view to see the document I was looking at.  I rebooted several times and ran the hardware test recommended.  The results indicated an error, the code: 4sns/1/40000001: IDOR-0.000.  Can anyone decipher the code and tell me what is wrong?
    thanks

That error code indicates a DC current anomaly.  A visit to an Apple store genius bar is your best option.  They should be able to specifically isolate the problem and and advise you of your options.

someone could help me, thanks a lot

Well, for the last 2 hours, I have been using my MacBook Pro with the battery removed and have had open all the apps that would normally be open; Safari, iTunes, Mail and a couple of others. The fans have stopped blowing at full tilt as they were before, and when I open up a more CPU hungry app like Boxee, the fans go up to over 6000 rpm, but then go back to quiet levels (around 5000 rpm) when it is shut down, whereas before they would either hit 6000 for no apparent reason, or hit 6000 when a CPU hungry app would open, but then never spin back down again.
I think removing the battery has helped but I will take the machine in to an Apple tech tomorrow.

  • What i this error code 4SNS/1/40000001 : IG0C-0 257

just check the hardware for any problems with my mac. this was the answer. i started looking because 1. my serial number isn't showing up and 2. my iMessage and FaceTime doesn't work.

  • Bluetooth failure - hardware error 4SNS/1/40000001:TB1T-0.000

I was installing updates in my computer and suddenly the bluetooh icon started to fail, I noticed that a red led was on (in the mic input), but after restarting it was off, I tried the hardware test and I got the error 4SNS/1/40000001:TB1T-0.000, so I also tried:
    - Reseting PRAM & NVRAM
    - Reseting SMC
    - Deleting the com file of the bluetooth in the Library folder
But the hardware error is the same, I also noticed that when I test the stereo sound the left speaker volume is very low.
My computer is still with guaranty so I'll request the replace of the bluetooth chip and speakers.
Don't waste your time if you did the hardware test and you receive this error message, none of the soft advices you'll find in this forum will work, just replace.
What I'd like to know if it is better to send the computer or the replace the chip by myself, I saw some youtube videos and it looks very easy, and honestly I don't like how the technical service treats the computers.
Thanks in advance for the advice,

Dear all, after some reboots, and honestly I don´t know which of the previous soft advices was, but my bluetooth is now working.
Just as a extra comment, the mighty mouse bluetooth is the best i ever had, works for Windows Vista better than in OS X. This genius idea of having the right and left button options in one button is very awesome.

My computer recently has been running at its best. I did a diagnostic and gave me an error code 4SNS/1/40000000/IBOR-9.426. I wanted to get an idea what this means and what is the solution?

That indicates an internal sensor failure.  You will have to take your MBP to an Apple store genius bar for repairs.

Have Mac Pro 13" crash on start up. I ran hardwear test got error code: 4SNS/1/40000000:IC0C-65.828
Mac is only 1.5 yrs old and out of warranty. I searched the net and found code= CPU0 problem but don't know if accurate. If CPU problem I guess a new logic board? I am pretty shocked I have a hardwear prob like this. Any ideas?

no one knows exactly what those codes mean except Apple techs.  A guide/key explaining those codes has not been made public.  While others in here can make vague gueses as to what it may be, you really need to bring your mac to an Apple store or AASP for evaluation.

  • Hello. Apple hardware test has detected an error. 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000

Hello. Apple hardware test has detected an error. 4SNS/1/40000001:TN1D--1.000  Anyone knows what that means ? OS doesn't boot. Maybe it's hard disk error ?

It means your screwed if you're out of warranty.
That error translates to your northbridge temperature sensor is bad- BUT IN MAC "GENIUS" LAND, that means you either need a whole new logic board (a $700 part) or buy a new MacBook. On the non-unibody MacBook pros, you could have came to my store and spend $75 and had a working computer the same day- this is no longer possible on the unibody MacBooks.
    WHY, WHY, WHY?
In a bold design move, Apple decided to SOLDER the thermal sensors to the logic board (along with many other components such as the video, graphics and IO), thus rendering these parts NON-SERVICEABLE by us independant technicians. Apple's reasoning is that they can "make their notebooks thinner", but why sacrifice performace for asthetics? Who cares, buy a new MacBook.
    WHO NEEDS TEMPERATURE SENSORS?
It doesn't matter if your laptop is running hot or not, when a temperature sensor goes bad on a Mac, it shuts your computer down to prevent further damage. Apple was the first company to implement this "failsafe", now PC motherboard vendors are following suit after watching Apple's stock soar. What this means: Is that you could actually have a perfectly functioning MacBook except for one thing; the little guy who's sole purpose is to report whether it's not the computer is running hot or not has decided to not show up for work, so they closed up shop. If you ask me, it's the equivalent of a restaraunt closing on account of not having a dishwasher- but that's just the opinion of an ex-certified ACMT and what do I know- I'm not a "genius" or anything.

  • I did a apple harware test i have an error code 4SNS/1/C0000008: TG)H- -124

i have an error code 4SNS/1/C0000008: TG)H- -124  What does it mean ?

I don't know, but it could be a sensor that controls a fan. There is also a sensor on the rear of the display that could also control one of the fans.

  • AHT Error codes

    Hi-
Does anyone know where to get Article number 113867 which explains the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) Error Codes for AHT v1.2.6 for Power Mac G4 computers? Trying to troubleshoot a problem child, and it would be most helpful to have that info!
The link to the error codes on the AHT v1.2.6 Article number 113868 results in "Document not found".
A search of the Apple Kbase for Article number 113867 results in only the article number 113868.
Kind of an "Escher-esk" loop of failure.....

    Hi Tom-
"Type? error -65536" is the one error I have gotten before the AHT freezes, and that was prior to initiating the test.
Beyond that, the test will run through the logic board, issue a "passed" message, and freeze at mass storage- this is with or without hard drives connected. ATA controller problem???
I guess I am looking for more than the basic explanation of AHT that Apple provides in the kbase. I would really like to know the sequencing of the tests, so that maybe I can narrow the hardware problem down at the point the test freezes.
As it is, the G4 GE 2x450mhz is responding randomly to Disk Repair, PRAM reset, Archive and Install, Erase and Install, substitute CPU, and PMU reset. All have returned the system to bootable service, at least once, but always end with the system freeze, and subsequent failure of the system to load.
Stripped to the shipped configuration, with or without known/tested good CPU, HDD, RAM, Gcard, Keyboard & Mouse substitutes, the system either freezes at gray Apple screen, or, freezes shortly after loading the OS. Occasionally, the desktop is reached, but invariably freezes within moments.
Currently, after an open firmware "reset-all", the system refuses to move beyond the gray Apple screen.
The only thing that does work (most of the time), is booting (with much effort) to the OS X install disc (10.4.3), and running whatever utility or installer I choose. The origional system/software restore CD's (OS 9) result in a blank gray screen.......
So, even with the AHT error codes, I think the problem won't be ID'd with them. Would be nice to have the article Apple references, though!
