Air bubble on underside of MacBook

My white 13" Macbook appears to have developed an "air bubble" on the rubber cover on the underside. I assume this is where a lot of heat is generated. Is this a known issue and is it covered by warranty?

Very possibly your MacBook would be covered under Apple's MacBook Bottom Case Replacement Program. Call Apple's tech support and find out. If you have already paid for a repair that would be covered you may be eligible for reimbursement.
Best of luck.

  • 2009 Macbook has air bubbles on the bottom?

I purchased my Macbook in 2009 and have recently noticed air bubbles on the base. I assume they are caused by heat, but am unsure about what could cause this level of damage. How can I have this repaired, and what is the potential cost? Is there a way to prevent it from happening again?
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have pictures of the problem here:

  • Air bubbles on the bottom of my Macbook?

There are a few small air bubbles on the bottom of my Macbook. I think they may be heat related, but I haven't left the computer in any highly heated environments. Is it possible that heat generated by the computer itself may have caused this?
Also, could these bubbles pose more than a cosmetic problem, in the future? Does anyone have experience with this problem?

    Hi
Could you give us more details please; maybe put a photo somewhere on the net so we can see the problem.
    Thanks

  • After cleaning screen with iKlear, air bubbles appeared...

The other night I cleaned my macbook's screen with iKlear solution. After I cleaned it I noticed about 20 very small air bubbles that had formed on the screen. When you rub the iKlear cleaning cloth over the screen you can distinctly hear the sound that air bubbles make when you move something over them...I know for a fact that this is not dirt/saliva on the screen.
This isn't a huge problem for me but these bubbles are noticable at certain angles which gets annoying.
Anyone have the same problem or have sugestions on how I can fix this problem?
    Thanks!
    -Isaac

The bubble's disapeared somehow...still not sure what happened

    All,
A very interesting NOTE to this thread. In order to try and get the "ignore permissions" box to show up in GET INFO (so I could execute Matt the Magician's solution to file sharing issues)-- I ran the terminal command for disabling ACLs on my internal HD / start up disk (as indicated in the linked thread to BDAqua's forum).
Although I understand that this was useless for disabling permissions on the start up disk (as everyone here pointed out) and allowing me to see the "ignore permissions" check box - somehow it did seem to fix my file sharing problem...and that was the root problem I wanted solved in the first place! After doing the terminal command and a quick reboot, I went in and tested file sharing on the chosen directory and I can create new files or work from existing files in the directory, with both users being able to modify / and save from both machines and each machine sees the revisions and can build from them. Bottom line - I'm stoked and want to thank everyone for their help.
The only other tweak I made was going over to my wife's machine and instead of using her log in / password, I just used my name and password to connect to my main machine that was sharing directories. Maybe that's what fixed the problem or the ACL disable but either way...I'm up and running the way I want to be.
Hope this thread helps anyone else who has these file sharing / permissions issues with Leopard. Especially for anyone wanting to do such a simple file sharing set up between 2 computers. I wish I understood exactly which tweak fixed the problem, but at least it works the way I want now.
So happy to be done w/this one!
Thx everyone. Any additional input on what solved it is welcome, so my curiosity is quelled...

  • Air bubbles not going away

i have this 30 gb iPod and i put a bullet-proof shield on it and it advertised the air bubbles were going to go away in a couple days. I'm worried that the bubbles are being trapped in the click wheel and select buttons and will never go away. pushing it out with any sort of material (i.e, credit card, hard plastic, & my finger) won't move it. It seems that the click wheel isn't level with the face and so it traps bubbles. All the shields I've tried haven't worked because of the click wheel. The Bullet-Proof shield even advertised on their website that you didn't need to put any soapy water on it for application. Btw, the bullet proof face plate for the ipod is one big thing. There aren't cutouts for the click wheel.

Pull out the device battery while your device is on. This will make your device a hard reset.

  • Air Bubbles on Kevlar back of Droid Raxr Maxx

Does anyone know if there is a protective plastic layer that needs to be peeled off on the Kevlar back of the Droid Razr Maxx?  I am getting a lot of small air bubbles on the back of my phone.  I don't want to just start peeling away if there isn't anything to peel off.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
I understand the need to be cautious.  There is a protective film cover that is on the back of the Razr and I'm confident this is what you are referring to.  Please remove cover upon your desire.  Thank you.

  • Air Bubble on my 5s Screen

Guys help after i romove my screen protector on my iphone
i notice that there is a air bubble on my iphone screen on top
left. Its been irritatating. What will I Do??? Help plss

I Know what the problem is, the same thing happened to my iPhone.
The bubble is just from heat, which means that your iPhone basically melted underneath the top glass layer. This happens to many iPhones, and iPods. The bubble  will usually form in the corners, or, around the edge.
If you have Apple Care, bring it into Apple and you will either receive a new iPhone for free, or, you will receive a new iPhone for a low price.
If you don't have Apple Care, the bubble will not effect the way your iPhone works in ANY way.  You can just wait until your phone contract ends, then trade in your old iPhone for your new iPhone, and Apple will still take your iPhone.
    I hope that helped!!!
