Before updating your Nokia's firmware you should check that the newer version does not break Bluetooth and iSync abilities.
From the many reports on these and other forums, it seems people who have recently updated their Nokia phones firmware have found it impossible to get their phone and Mac to communicate.

  • Updating software/firmware version for 4G ipod

Hello, I have a 4th Gen iPod (click wheel w/ grey screen) and recently bought a Pioneer car receiver that has an iPod USB connector built in. When I plug my iPod in, the car doesn't recognize it. The installer told me to update my firmware and he tested his iPod video and it worked fine. My 4G software version shows as 3.1.1 and it appears to be the most recent version. Are there other versions out there that I could upgrade to in attempt to make this work? Also, what is firmware and is it upgradable indepently from the standard iTunes upgrades?
    Thanks

    what is firmware
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93772
is it upgradable indepently from the standard iTunes upgrades?
    No.
My 4G software version shows as 3.1.1 and it appears to be the most recent version.
    It is.
I would suggest that the iPod model you own is maybe not compatible with this Pioneer unit. The fact that the installers video iPod worked doesn't mean anything since you don't own that model.
Do Pioneer say that the receiver is compatible with all iPods, or just certain models?

    Al,
I don't understand your anger. In your first message
you posted that you installed OS 9 and updated it to
9.2.2. So why don't you do that again on the 700 MHz
    iMac?
I find it very amusing that somehow you see anger in my post. That is realy very funny! The reason I didn't just simply install OS 9 on the 700MHz Imac is stated in my original post. I would need a special (the original disk that came with this computer) bootable OS 9.1 disk to install 9.1 on this particular computer. However if there are retail 9.2 or greater disks available then that would work to. I own a retail version of 9.1 that I used for the 400MHz Imac. That wont work on the 700MHz Imac. So now I have to buy a another OS 9 disk. Thanks for your input. Al

  • Problem: updating phone software version 5800XM

    hi mate
i have got a nokia 5800XM.the version is v21 but when i tried to update it i couldnt do it because it said there is no available update for your device.
in CAN I UPDATE? page i entered my phone code and it said there is no such a phone with this phone code.
    phone code:0549361
my phone is made in hungary
    PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ HELP ME

Cant see that code on lists as well. Likely that you got a fake sticker so the suppliers can say that they got it from Hungary and fool dealers.
If the update is not available for you via OTA or NSU, you could try going to a Nokia Care Center.
If you find my post helpful please click the green star on the left under the avatar. Thanks.

  • Cannot update to Firmware version 4.1.108.32627 on ix4-300d

Just bought an ix4-300d with 4-3Tb drives.  I cannot update Firmware to the latest version.  After uploading to the NAS, when I click 'Apply' or 'Apply all pending updates", I see a message that says "The update file is being decompressed".  After several seconds, I then receive dialog box that says, "Error – The software could not be updated."
Any ideas what the issue could be?  Are there any log files to look at?
    Current Version:         4.1.102.29716
    Upgrade to:                 4.1.108.32627

    Hello dcsantis
Check the event log for any abnormal storage alerts such as degraded storage, recoverable errors, missing drive alerts, etc.  Those sort of alerts could contribute to the firmware update issue.
Some basic steps to try for the issue:
Re-download the update file again and check the md5 checksum from the download page.  If the checksum fails, try downloading from a different browser or computer and check it again.
Try uploading and applying the file using a different browser or computer.
Try re-seating all disks with the unit off, then try uploading and applying the update file again.
Try swapping disks 1 and 4 to opposite bays, then try uploading and applying the file again after booting.
LenovoEMC support should be contacted to create an incident if the above steps do not work.

  • Strategy for managing phone firmwares

    Hi,
I would like your advice on phone firmware management.
We are running a big CUCM 8.6 cluster with many site offices. The phone firmware version in device defaults is 9.3
When we order new phones,  we receive phones with firmware versions less than 9.3 and greater than 9.3.
When the firmware version is less than 9.3, we dont have an issue. The phones just upgrade.
When the firmware version of the new phones is greater than 9.3, then we have had issues.  Phones dont do the downgrade of the firmware from a higher version to a lower version. Does Cisco support downgrade of the phone firmware from a higher to a lower version? How do we know which version downgrades have been tested by Cisco. I dont see much info about downgrade in the release notes.
How do we manage this situation?
We dont want to add the new devices with a special load as we would like all devices in our network to have the same load.
Is upgrading the phone firmware globally on CUCM on a regular basis the only solution?
Please let me know how you manage the issue of phone firmwares on CUCM?
    Many thanks for your help!!
    Regards
    Pete

    Hi Pete,
Just to add some new fun into things, you now have to watch for
new "Hardware" versions as well. This will also impact the upgrade
& downgrade determinations made by certain phones when they
look to register. So your new phones won't downgrade to the older 9.x version and
this is why you are seeing these anomalies
So if you move past 9-3-1sr1 in the general device defaults you should be good to go.
    Hardware Updates
The hardware updates improve the compatibility of internal phone components.
The following table lists the updated hardware versions that require this release.
    Phone Hardware Version
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G
    15.0 and higher
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7962G
    15.0 and higher
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7945G
    13.0 and higher
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7965G
    13.0 and higher
    Cisco Unified IP Phone 7975G
    12.0 and higher
Phones  manufactured with these hardware versions must run Firmware  Release  9.3(1)SR1 or later. The phone firmware does not allow the phone to be downgraded to releases earlier than Release 9.3(1)SR1.

  • Can't access internet after updating to firmware 7.3.1

After updating to firmware version 7.3.1, I lost the ability to access the internet. The AEBS thinks it has an internet connection (the light is green), but it does not. I have tried restarting the AEBS and my cable modem router.
I had the same problem with firmware version 7.2.1, and had to revert to 7.1.1.
I'd like to find a solution so that I can make use of Airdisk and Time Capsule.

Same here: 7.1.1 works but 7.2.1 & 7.3.1 do not with the same symptoms.
In fact there are now several threads reporting the same loss of internet connectivity. Happily reverting to 7.1.1 restores connectivity.

  • 100% CPU usage. RV180W Firmware Version 1.0.2.6

Since I updated to Firmware Version 1.0.2.6 cpu usage shows 100% with no sing of lowering.
So since 2 days now its always runngin at full speeds for no reason.
Firmware Update, Factory Reset, Setup as before. => 100% CPU
Is this a common problem? Is there any fix for that? Or at least a way to get informations what causes this?

Hi, we can try something, please download the firmware thru this link, and install it again, then configure just the necessary configuration. If the issue continues, could you please reach out to our Small Business Support Center and open a Service Request to address this issue? • Firmware version details

    Hi everybody,
I'm using the nokia 5800, and updated to firmware version 30.0.011. I could'nt find any official description of the changes or addition in that update. anyone have any idea where it can be found.
    Thanx,

I'm not "the man on the inside", so I can't answer for Nokia's policy, but I do know that some other companies don't publish such information because it can have a negative affect on consumer standing if a long list of errors on a finished device are owned up to...

First, you do not have a 3G if you could upgrade it to 6.1.3, because 4.2.1 is the last version that will work on the 3G. So you either have a 3GS or you somehow hacked the phone to install an incompatible version. You can check the model you have by entering your serial number here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Assuming you have a 3GS the most likely reason for your problem is you have a gray market phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it. When you upgraded it you removed the hack, so the phone is now locked to its original carrier.
