  • No Volume Control on iPod touch! Help me please!

Last night I was going to watch a YouTube video on my iPod. My volume had been all the way down, so I tried to use the side buttons to turn it up, but it didn't work. I then noticed that the slide bar volume control wasn't available either. I've done some research on the web and can't seem to find a solution. I have the Best Buy warranty on my iPod, but I've went through heck with repairs on a previous iPod before, and I'd rather not have to ship this one to Dallas for Best Buy to fix it unless I have to.

No, I'm about to though. However, from what I've read online, this is a common problem and a reset/restore won't fix it. But I'm going to try.

  • I am unable to hear or change the volume on my Ipod touch 4

I am unable to hear or change the volume on my Ipod touch 4. The volume controls dont work, and neithr do the assisted accessability volume controls.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    You said:
No, I do not want to "factory reset" my iPod. No I do not wish to do anything crazy long or hard to fix this.
That may be necessary, It is not what you want to do/not do but what is required to resolve your problem.

  • My lock button on my 1 g iPod touch is not working???

My lock button on my 1 g iPod touch is not working???

Its possibly because its only a 1g iPod. I suggest you either get a newer iPod or bring it to an Apple store and see what they can do.

  • Significant Volume Reduction on Ipod Touch 3GS after upgrading to IOS 4.2

Hi everyone. I just would like to ask why there is a significant decrease of sound volume after my ipod touch 3GS was upgraded from 3.1 to IOS 4.2. Settings are the same and I haveven't changed anything, so I'm pretty sure its a software issue. Is there a way now to increase or recover the volume? I am planning to downgrade it back (if it is still possible) just to get back the huge volume of ipod touch 3.1. Thanks in advance guys.

I have had the same problem. I have put the same song on my standard Ipod and also my Itouch and the volume on the touch is considerabely lower when it plays through the Apple plug. When I play music through Pandora the volume is higher than the music that is uploaded. This has only happened since I updated to OS4. Any idea how to help with this?

  • Is there a size difference between iPod Touch 1G home button and other versions of iPod Touch?

I have an old iPod Touch 1G home button that got stuck. So I bought a new home button to replace it and I'm having trouble fitting it in the hole that I'm replacing. I'm not sure the new button I have is for iPod Touch 1G or for other iTouch versions.
Does anyone know where I find a video how to replace iPod Touch home button and where can buy the home button if the button I have is not for 1G?

this is a shop online were you can buy the home button http://www.repairsuniverse.com/ipod-touch-1g-button-replacements.html
and this is a video telling you how to replace it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izf0HLSwL7w

  • Volume controls on 1G touch

Since upgrading to 3.1 i've been having problems controlling the volume in my 1G touch. Now this is the touch that doesn't have the external buttons, so before when playing a game I could just twice press home button and the little ipod volume control would pop without exiting the game. Now when I do this on 3.1, it exits the game and brings up the ipod app. This happens too when I used the Stanza app to read a book with audiobook and to stop the audiobook the ipod app comes too. Does this mean the 3.1 is only for newer ipods touches?

internet626, I don't know what your post referred to.
daChibi, the features that you can set in settings won't do what Mell was asking for.
Here's a rundown of new and exciting features options for the home button. You can double click to:
Bring up the home screen (which is really disabling double click, since you're making the feature identical to single click)
Bring up the search screen (which you can already do with two single clicks)
Bring up the actual ipod app (which you could previously do by bringing up the pop up controls then selecting music).
If you find these options slightly less functional than the old ability to bring up pop-up controls without having to exit an app, even when there's no music currently playing, make sure you've submitted feedback. http://www.apple.com/feedback

  • Volume lock on Ipod Touch 2G

The Auto-Lock locks the display but how do I lock the volume. Just bought the 2G Ipod touch yesterday and wanted to take it out jogging today, but it was super annoying as the volume just keept going up and down. How can those two buttons be locked like the rest of it?

A case might be an idea, but it should work without. I have just posted feedback to Apple and will see what they come back with.
I wouldn't expect that something that simple would have been taking away. It worked on all the old Ipods with the external lock/unlock.

  • Anyone else having volume icon on ipod touch 4gen just popping up and not working properly after upgrading to ios 6.1?

Hi, has anyone experienced issues with there volume control icon randomly popping up after upgrading to ios 6.1 from 6.0 .
I have a 4th gen ipod touch which  until upgrading to 6.1 from 6.0 was working perfectly.
Minutes after the upgrade I noticed the volume icon just popping up for no reason. I can turn the volume up now, but not down and it randomly appears on screen without anyone touching it. Weird!  Can someone shed some light on this issue,I have reset and reloaded to factory several times now to no avail.
    thanks!

I am having this same issue on my iPhone 4. The most recent update to iOS 6.1 didn't fix it either. Has anyone found a fix for this problem? It doesn't happen often, maybe every third day or so but requires power off, power on to bring the sound back.

  • JVC KSPD100 problems will not charge and no ipod control with ipod touch 2G

I just got a new ipod touch 2G and when I connect it to my JVC car stereo KD-HDR1 through a KSPD100 ipod adapter the ipod shows charging is not supported on this device and I can not control the ipod through the radio. Also I can only setup the radio for EXT in and not Ipod.

try hold home and power button till apple logo shows up
or try to put it into recovery mode, turn it off hold home button till itunes logo shows up that will cause the comp to recognize it if it still doesnt try resetting the apple mobile device support on the comp  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567

  • Head phone volume controlls and iPod Touch 1G.

I just bought some of the new head phones with the Volume controlls, mic, and phause / play controll on the wire. It works fine with my dads iPhone but it does nothing with my 1G iPod Touch. Is it suppose to work with an iPod Touch or just the iPhones? Please help.

The 1st gen touch headphone jack doesn't have the same functionality as the 2nd and 3rd gen touch. You can't use remotes or input audio through it, but it's a distinction of the model of ipod touch, not a distinction between ipod touch and iphone.
