Alarm Clock Problem

My alarm clock used to work correctly, but within the last two weeks, the only way to get it to turn off is to snooze it, turn off the phone, turn the phone back on, and then turn off the alarm (in the edit options of the alarm settings). The slide to the right option (to turn off the alarm, not snooze it), does not work, it only slides the screen to the right and the alarm continues to go off.

Hello, valmichele14.
Try closing all open applications in multitasking and power cycling the device.  Test to see if the unable to dismiss behavior persists.

  • Belle alarm clock problem

    Hi!
I noticed an other problem (or it is not?). I verified this on my nokia 701 and nokia 700 both Belle FP1 updated.
The problem is the alarm clock. IF THERE IS DARKNESS the alarm does not show on the screen and you are not able to turn it off, and you can not even unlock your phone to turn the alarm off. The only way is to have light in the room, and that is not acceptable for me.... the old nokia 5800 had the screen lit and you could turn off the alarm....
Anyone have any solution on this?!?  Thanks

Oj, just relax and buy another phone, that's exactly what Nokia wants! I did so after 3 times sending back my N73 for various defects (keys, display, camera), then took a E65 for 2 years (which is far better, but not perfect, worked after 1 time exchange with a faulty SIM card reader), now I have a N82 which I had to exchange 6 (six) times for not having several stuck keys, scratches on the display, dust inside the display. This N82 now "only" makes strange noises when pressing keys like double-sided adhesive tape not properly fixed. Nokia knows about that problem (asked today in a shop). They fix it, but can't guarantee it getting better.
So... just sit back, relax, and throw all your expectations about quality from Nokia over board, learn how to be happy for getting some (mostly useless) answer from the support at all, and never think you could get a masterpiece of a working phone from Nokia if you pay them 'only' 400 bucks.

  • Alarm clock problem and question

My son is having problems with the alarm on his iPhone 3G. Sometimes it simply does not go off. He has tried resetting, it didn't help. I searched the forums and noticed that some other people have had the same problem. Perhaps the upcoming software update may help.
In the meantime, here is my question. There are several alarm clock apps in the app store. If he downloads one of those to use, will the battery drain be increased? He has heard that non apple apps like alarm clocks really drink up the battery life.
Any hints, clarifications, etc. greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

I'm in Iraq and I use my alarm daily, to wake me up. I haven't had a problem, until I updated my phone to the 3.0 version software. I'm going to try to email support to see if there is a fix coming out; and if not, to notify them of the problem. I suggest anyone with this problem, do the same.

  • Alarm clock problems

I've been having problems with my alarm clock lately; even though all of my date and time settings are correct, the alarms that I have set for multiple days do not go off when I set them to. More often than not, they go off an hour before they're supposed to. I've tried testing it by creating an alarm for the next minute that has no repeat, and it works just fine. So I'm a little confused here.
This has only been going on since Monday morning 3-28. Before then, it worked fine. I updated my software to iOS 4.1 that afternoon, but it hasn't made a difference.

I'm having the same exact issue and I'm oversleeping a lot because of it! I've been searchin everywhere for help, but to no avail. Have you been able to fix the issue?

  • Alarm clock problem after Sync with N73

I have a problem with the alarm clock in my N73 (RM-133). From the moment on I had my phone synchronized with Outlook via Nokia PC Suite, the alarm clock fails to start the phone from power-off state - it switches on, and then the software crashes. A working alarm clock can only be restored by formatting the phone with *#7370# and therefore losing all settings and data.
Another thing that can be seen is that, after a Sync, if I set the alarm clock, turn off the phone, immediately turn it on again, the alarm clock is still set to its time, but the alarm symbol (the little bell) is no longer displayed.
I have absolutely no idea what the reason may be. It can not be incompatible installed apps, as the problem also occurs after a total reset without changing any setting in the phone. I have already once changed my hardware on warranty. I am always using the latest (unbranded original Nokia) FW available, same goes for PC Suite. Any ideas?

  • Lumia720 alarm clock problem

i've owned a Lumia 720 for a week and the alarm clock is driving me crazy. First: the phone must be on for the alarm to work, which is a strange logic. Worse still, the alarm sounds as it wants: gave a beeb yesterday, but not today and so on. I've gone through the phone guide repeatedly and there seems to be nothing wrong with how I program/ set the alarm. A bug?? Mechanical fault? Some update available somewhere?

ok i just tested it. it works. even the snooze function works.
you can change the 'alarm tone' by going to the app, > alarms > edit > sound.
i think the 'tones' are limited to the ones that are already there. i don't think you can import one from your computer, like a wav or mp3 (can anyone confirm this pls?)
i personally prefer a standard tone, like my clock radio. haven't been able to find one in the 'choices' lumia 720 has, i just selected 'nokia tune remix'. it does sound loud n obnoxious. enough to wake me up
@TS.. from what i understand the phone's 'volume' is controlled OVER ALL from the volume rocker switch at the right side of the phone.
and yes the alarm DOESNT WORK when the fone is off. i guess we all just got used to old nokia fones where somehow, some way, even the if phone is off.. there's still some sort of timer alarm running in the background.
guess what, its weird but i set my fone to alarm and turned the fone off (just to see if it will work)... as mentioned, no alarm happened ... (after a few mins), now the alarm time has passed, i turned on my fone, IT ALARMED :/
anyway, atleast you know its not just your fone that's acting a bit different.

  • N97 alarm clock problem + video editing

Struggling to find out how to edit my videos on my N97,  need to cut it and add music. Any ideas?
I have also had problems with my alarm.  I set it as usual but sometimes it doesnt go off in the morning until I wake up myself and take the keyguard off.  Caused me to be late for work  Its like it freezes sometimes
any advice would be really appreciated
    thanks

ok do you keep your phone on at all times even during charge overnite? if not, keep it on on charge overnite
also consider installing this on your phone

it states for 3rd ed, but i know users that have installed it on thier 5th ed devices and it works just fine for them.
there is no other solutions for this issue at the moment

  • Alarm clock wont work

Well my ipod just one day failed to use my alarm, i keep trying to set the time like 5 minutes in the future and leave it charging and it still fails. I make sure everything on the clock is right, i check times and it keeps failing. Tried updating and it didnt fix it, everything else works fine except for the alarm clock. Right now i got it plugged into a dock thats plugged into my pc, tried it with the wall charging adapter and didnt work either. Also curious if theres a way to get to the main screen while charging so i can play my music from my ipod while charging on my pc

    Hi,
Not sure about the alarm clock problem - I would have thought that updating the iPod software might help.
But if you want to play music whilst charging from your PC, try ejecting the iPod from the computer, so that the no entry sign disappears. It works on a Mac, and it continues charging!

  • Looking for an Alarm Clock app where you do math problems to turn it off

Someone told me of an application for the iPhone that is an alarm clock in which you can use a mode that, when the alarm sounds, you need to solve a math problem or other visual test in order to cease the alarm. That way the user is more awake by the time the alarm is stopped. Sounds annoying, yes, but would be just what I need.
Anyone know which alarm app this is? Or if it even exists?

There's another app that got a lot of press recently called *Proactive Sleep*.
It works similarly to the math app mentioned above but you do a 30 second visual game when you wake up. It also records your score as well as your sleep patterns and can give you recommendations and other feedback to improve your sleeping habits.

  • HT4972 since update to IOS 5.1.1  -  problem with iluv IMM173 DUAL DOCK ALARM CLOCK DOCKING STATION. - CRASHES WHENEVER UPDATED IPHONE 4S CONNECTED

Hi, since most recent update (IOS 5.1.1) to my iphone 4s, I am experiencing problems(ONLY SINCE MOST RECENT IOS 5.1.1.UPDATE) with my 'iluv' IMM173 DUAL DOCK ALARM CLOCK DOCKING STATION.
Every time I connect my iphone it causes the docking station to crash/freeze and become totally non-responsive. However, if I remove my iphone, then connect my wife's
iphone 4 (IOS 5.0.10) The docking station then syncs time and date as normal with the iphone, and reverts back to function normally.
Has anyone else experienced the problem please, and if so, is there a remedy ?

    1.  I cannot open my camera from the home screen.  The icon is there but when you click on it it shakes and starts to open up but than slides down back to the home screen.  I have tried closing the camera app resetting my phone but nothing seems to fix it.   I can still open up the camera regularly by unlocking the phone first and than going to the camera app.  But the camera button on the home screen just doesn't work for me anymore.  I know with 5.1 they made it where it wont disappearing from the home screen so my guess is the issue must be related to that somehow.
From the locked screen, swipe the camera icon upwards to open the camera app.  This is a new feature in 5.1.

  • Problems with 'Alarm Clock'

    Good day.
I use my Ipod as Alarm Clock - it's pretty good to wake up while listening to the favourite music. I made it to start playing playlist without beeping.
I don't know why, but sometimes (after watching video, listening to the music before I go to bed) my alarm clock doesn't work correctly: when it's time to wake up, it just shows a message *wake up* as usually, but without playing music, so I'm being late for some times already...
Please, tell me what to do, how to fix this problem, 'cause I hate ordinary beeping alarm clocks.
P.S.: Sorry, if my english isn't very good.

Pick a sound, song, etc. for the alarm and make sure it is not the default one.

  • Nokia N8 Alarm Clock Volume Problem

What is wrong with Nokia N8's alarm clock volume? I can not find anywhere to define the way it alarms (ascending, ringing, ...) and to set the volume.
The default clock has the ringing alarm, but I want to set ascending alarm. Also I need cont down alarm, so I tried couple of third party applications like Handy Clock, Time Machine and Egg Clock Touch. But The problem with all of them is that the alarm volume is too low and there is no where to adjust the volume.
Is there anyway to set ascending for the default clock alarm? Why there is no volume for the clock alarm?
    I appreciate your help.

The alarm clock should follow the profile you're using, so if you set a profile to full volume and ascending , that should work, also if you try Nokia situations from beta labs you may be able to get the phone to automatically do what you want it to do !

  • Nano problems with Alarm clocks(lik e Luna or others)

I have a new nano 4gb, and an Xtrememac Luna... My old ipod 2nd gen worked perfecly, the new nano has problems instead.. When my alarm function lit the ipod, it does not play the song, but remain in pause... The nano wakes up, but old nano started to play the song, this stands in pause. Why this? Can I hope in a fix or something? many people have this problem...
    Possible solutions?
    thanks in advance

Since there was no reply from Apple so far I called their service today.
The claimed that this problem was not known with the devices which they are selling and that they can't tell about 3rd party alarm clocks.
Big news! Who would have thought of that answer?
Well I then called the manufacturer of my alarm clock which is called "auvisio", one of these cheap copies. They knew about the problem with the nano 3G on thier device and said that they can't offer a solution so far. They offered RMA which I would say is quite nice of them but it doesn't help me much with my wake-up-problem in the morning.
I already settled with the thought that I would have to buy the more expensive Apple stuff but as I read above even Bose seems to have the problem. Complete confusion.
Hopefully firmware 1.0.3 will be released soon and can finally solve these problems. Release 1.0.2 definitely was a step into the opposite direction...

  • E63 Alarm Clock and Date problem

Power off E63, when alarm clock ring, power on. The system date change. This problem happen almost every Sat. and Mon.. FW version 102.21.001

in my opinion this is a media cache issue.
activate Mass Storage mode and connect your device to your PC.
using the Explorer of the PC, view the Storm's two harddrives and especially the hidden files. You should see a file named BBThumbs.dat in every folder that contains a media file. Delete all those BBThumbs.dat files.
those files are media cache, and they may sometimes get corrupt. Deleting them will force the Media Manager to recreate the cache entirely.
