ALBPM EE 5.7 - Run More Than One Engine Simultaneously

Hi,
I have created two engines (engine1 and engine2). Both with different databases and same RDBMS (Sql Server).
After running the first engine(engine1), when I try to run second engine (engine2), it shows an exception.
I need to run both of the engines simultaniously. Is this possible? I have evaluation version of the product.
or should I have to use different RDBMs for both of the engines..?
If anybody knows, please help me in clearing this hurdle...

I need to set up an image viewing program (Olyvia) to allow students using Macs and iPads access to this windows only application in order for them to get their work done. We may have 12 or more students accessing and trying to run the Olyvia application
at any one time.
All works good, except that I cannot run the Olyvia application (setup as a remoteapp program) more than one instance at a time. That is, when I start up "olyvia" on a Mac, it works great. If I leave it up and running, and then try
and start up "olyvia" on an iPad (using different accounts), I get the following error message:
"Cannot run more than one instance of this program simultaneously. Either the program is already running, or it has not been terminated completely."
I need to understand the root issue.
1. Is this a licensing issue? So, I need to add some CALs to the RDS server?
2. Is this a application issue with "olyvia"? So, no matter what I do, it is not going to be able to be used by more than one person at a time when configured as a remoteapp?
3. Did I not "publish" the application correctly?
4. Is this happening because I followed the "quick start" guide?
Appreciate any help I can get on this. We have no problem getting CALs, I just need some help with the root issue.

Hi Geoff,
Each application uses different techniques for determining if multiple instances are running. If you can determine what method it is using then perhaps you could use App-V or other virtualization software.
In the best case you really should direct your question to the maker of Olyvia. The reason I said that is they specifically designed their software to prevent multiple instances, so the first question is, why? Is it related to Licensing?
Compatibility? If you knew the specific reason(s) why they are doing it and the technique used then at the point using a virtualization technique may be the best option.

IMac (2008) OS10.6.8 - Main menu freezes when running more than one application at a time. Apple and 3rd party applications - all freeze the main menu. Safe mode seems to work OK. Tried repairing permissions - didn't work.

For the past 60 days I've experienced Main Menu freeze when running more than one application at a time. iPhoto, Preview, Text Edit, Epson Scan, Firefox and Thunderbird are the apps I use almost daily. No matter what I do, when more than one is running they will freeze the Main Menu (top of the screen). I've tried booting is Safe Mode and I don't seem to have a problem. I've tried several suggestions from repairing permission (DiskUtility) to eliminating specifis login items. Nothing works. I've posted this issue on the Apple forum several times and no one else has experienced this problem. I hesitate to take my iMac to the Apple Store or a private Apple repair service until I've exhausted all of my options. Do I have any more options?

There's really no need to submit to Apple, it's just a round file cabinet on the other end, especially with 10.6 or earlier.
This sure sounds like a resource problem...
See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

"A script is already running" while attempting to run more than one item

We upgrade recently to ODT 11.2.0.3.20. Since then, attempting to run more than one item from the Solution Explorer (by selecting the items, right-clicking, and selecting "Run") results in a popup error of "Oracle Developer Tools. A script is already running". If many items are selected it results in many error messages and only a random few of the items are actually executed on the server. Also, choosing "Run On" now results in it prompting for the target database for each item selected (rather than once for all items selected like it used to). This all used to work fine in the earlier release we were using. Has anyone else run into this? Any fixes? We used to use multi-select and "Run" or "Run On" to deploy multiple items at once, but this no longer works -- doing one at a time works, but if you have hundreds of items to run, this quickly becomes unusable.

Like I said, this used to work fine in the older versions of ODT. It seems like the new version is attempting to execute multiple items at once on the same connection simultaneously, thus resulting in the "A script is already running" error. The old version used to be smart enough to execute them one at a time -- so something changed in a more recent version to completely break "Run" and "Run On" when you have more than one item highlighted (even just highlighting 2 items and choosing "Run" runs the first item, but then gives the error for the second item).

Using the the multiple profiles and running more than one instance of Fire fox at atim

I use F/F in a gaming situation I needed to be able to run more than one session at a time and read about a feature called multiple profiles. Then I read iin another forum that I could have multiple instances with the following bat file :

I also have the Beta 4.06 on my machine and even though the batch file directs it to wither the Beat or the Non Beta they both seem to track the profiles and can be used in either version.
However It's not working as I described running two browsers with grease monkey it will start to mis handle data and they both lock up

There is no need to set MOZ_NO_REMOTE, remove that part of the bat file. Change the start line to:
start "" "C:\Documents and Settings\Hilton Wiggins\My Documents\Fire Fox non Beta\firefox.exe" -no-remote -p "profile name"

Can I run more than one Node Manager per machine?

Hia,
We have a situation in our project where we need to run different domains on a Solaris machine in different java modes.
Say Domain1 should be running in 32bit version of java where as Domain2 should be running in 64bit mode due to the nature of testing currently going on in different domains.
We could successfully get the two domains running in different java modes in parallel by modifying the start scripts to decide which Sud data model to start the servers based on certain parms. However, the pain here is with the Node Manager.
My understanding is that there should be one Node Manager running per machine for all the domains running on that machine. So when ever I have to run a domain in a java mode different to that of what Node Manager is running on, I had to kill the node manager and start it in the same version that I want to start the other servers in since Node Manager uses its starting parms internally to start the Managed Servers (Note: there is no issue in running the Admin Server regardless of the node manager mode as expected).
Can somebody advise me if there is any way to get around this hassle?
I want to know if we can run more than one node manager per machine.
Below are the details of my env.
Weblogic Server 10.3
Solaris 10 SPARC 64 bit (SunOS 5.10 Generic_142900-14 sun4v sparc)
java version "1.6.0_20"

You can run as many node manager as you want in a particular machine.
At the time of starting the node manager you need to pass hostname & Port.
This will start the nodemanager on different ports of a machine.
sh startNodeManager.sh <hostname> <port>
eg:- sh startNodeManager.sh dev_machine_01 5556
sh startNodeManager.sh dev_machine_01 5557
sh startNodeManager.sh dev_machine_01 5558
After starting your node manager in different ports you need to change machine details from admin console.

As has been suggested, we won't know about future features until they announce them, but by understanding the current situation we can guess.
The current limitations on third-party applications running in the background make sense. It's not a technical limitation. App store downloads, and the phone functionality run in the background while other applications are up front.
It's a resource limitation. Processor power and probably more importantly battery life are the key limiting factors. It's not that Apple doesn't want you to have more functionality. It's that it currently struggling to deliver a quality experience that satisfies as many customers as possible. As it is the battery life is only just acceptable enough for most current customers, many are unhappy with it.
So if more efficient chips or batteries become available, or some genius programmer manages to squeeze out a whole lot more out of less, then we'll see more background processes allowed.

Possible to run more than one iDVD at one time?

Hiya, I'm currently running a nice shiny QuadG5 and when running iDVD6 I've noticed it doesn't use all the resources my machine has to offer (it usually hovers at around 130% out of 400%). Does anyone know if it's possible to run more than one instance of iDVD06 at once? I was thinking about creating a copy of the whole iDVD app and seeing but it's running a render right now so i can't disturb it. Seems a shame to have those yummy G5's sitting there doing naff all.

You must have a class (code) to start each "application". To keep the environments clean from each other you can use a class loader.

My 2009 iMac freezes and won't run more than one application at a time - how can I fix this?

Macbook Pro mid 2012 starting to lag when running more than one program.

Retina, Mid 2012
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
8gb 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M / Intel HD 4000
OS X 10.8.4 (12E55)
So, i bought this macbook about a year and a month ago and since i bought it everything has run fine, it has always been fast and smooth, until around 2 months ago when it started getting a little laggy in handling more than one program being open. Before this i was able to run Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Second Life and Chrome all at once and recieved no speed decrease what so ever. So i figured that it must just have been a little clogged up maybe, honestly wasnt sure but tried clearing cache, tried freeing up memory with some of the mac memory management tools from the App Store and non of these worked so in the end i backed up what was important and wiped the HD and re installed the OS. Annoyingly i am still having problems, if i have Photoshop open and i am surfing chrome it lags on scrolling web pages or loading links. If i have Second Life open i seem to lag with more than 3 players around me quite badly, even if i put Second Life onto its lowest Graphic Settings i still lag where as before i had this issue i could run it on its highest Graphic Settings and recieve little to no lag what so ever. This happens for most programs that used to run smoothly, if i now open Cinema 4D and try anything else.....the system slows down.
I COULD take this to the apple store and genuis bar and ask them to have a look at it HOWEVER i am back at Uni in 2 weeks and i need the macbook for my studies as i am currently working on a summer project and need it for research, can any of you Mac Wonders out there suggest anything else for me to try. I have checked the HD and it says its not failing and is verified and found no issues with the partition.

Running more than one batch on the same resource at the same time.

as i'm working in paper industry , i have to release more than one batch at the same time using batchable resource , but i have problem in declaring the resource usage , if i run 3 batches on the same resource for i hour , what is the resource usage for each batch and how the system will help me to know that.

Assume you have 3 batches names b001/boo2/boo3
for B001 you have planned resoues as 1, but Actual resouce count is 2
for B002 you have planned resourse as 3 but Actual resource count is 3
for B003 you have planned resourse as 2 but actual resouree count is 2
Here the the Acutal resource usage will calculate as per the actual count and that too within Batch only. And it will not consolidte Batches altogehter.

Of possible interest to those running more than one graphics card

This bit of information in relation to GPU and OpenGL features and limitations in Photoshop CS4 had totally escaped me until today. Though it doesn't affect my setup, it might be of interest to others who may have missed it too.

In this case, I would re-think states here and create only Transition In notifications:
-> Transition In: Status: ACTIVE
-> Transition In: Status: PASSIVE
-> Transition In: Status: SUSPENDED
So it would not send double notification (leaving state A and entering state B). If you don't want such notification for newly created users, maybe think about request MPRs as Mark suggested? Then you can set different workflow (and notification) for each
state changes.

Adobe Form used by more than one user simultaneously

I am working on an online interactive Adobe form using Web Dynpro ABAP.
once the user enters the data and clicks the submit button, the data is sent to ztables.
the scenario is that more than one user can possibly use the same form simultaneously. in that case, how can i maintain synchronization ie how to avoid multiple users from using the form at the same time, when the form is already being filled by one user already.
I am guessing i have to do something with ADS for this.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a program name or transaction code where i can look up the lock entries and see if i can apply them to my web dynpro application or the adobe form.

Is it possible to run more than one case at a time?

Using a case structure, is it possible to have more than 1 case running at a time? I'm currently using a for loop's iteration terminal to select which case to run but each case contains a for loop with a timer delay. I want them all to run simultaneously somehow..?
Maybe possible using a different type of loop?

If it did this, we'd consider it a bug. By design, only one diagram of
a case is supposed to run, the one the selector specifies. If you want
them to run in parallel, put the contents into separate case statements
and use a Boolean to either run or skip the code.
For example, if you have cases run whenever their bit is set in an
integer, then you would have cases for bit 0, 1, 2, and 3. Instead of
putting them in one case, make fo
ur cases. Put the AND logic in front
of each for ANDing with 1, 2, 4, and 8, and wire the output Boolean to
the case structure. Now take i and wire it to the logic. The 0 diagram
will run on odd numbers, etc.
