  • Album art not being displayed for some songs.

I've recently imported some MP3 files and used the "Get Album Artwork" option to get the cover art. I've noticed for all of these songs the album artwork will not display in Front Row on a remote machine using the sharing feature. Same in iTunes if I try to play these songs via sharing. If I add the cover art myself, I don't have this issue.
Anyone else running into this? Does anyone know a fix or workaround (other than removing the artwork and manually readding it)?
All my machines have the latest versions of all software.
    Thanks
    Curt

Thanks! You are right. There's an Album Artwork folder and I scp'd one of my "affected" mp3s to another machine and the artwork was absent. Seems like Apple should've just added the artwork to the mp3 file as if it was manually added. Perhaps they had a reason not to, though.

Did you update your operating system?  If so, did it solve the problem?  I have not updated my OS because so many people complained that the newer Os's had problems.

  • Album art not showing completely when playing songs on iphone

when i play songs on my ipod's iphone, for some reason not all cd cover images show up on a full view, (not in landscape mode) it will only show half of the picture. It happens with some songs/pictures not all. Is there any restriction? image size, resolution, type (jpeg, gif, bmp)?
    thanks

first thing to check is to make sure each song has the correct album artwork.
if that is correct, delete the songs from the iTunes library, sync your phone to remove all of the songs from it, and then reimport your songs and resync.

  • Album art not being synced correctly

I used an external tagging program to embed album art into all my song files. They show up correctly in iTunes when selected or playing, but they do not, in all cases, sync to the iPod. However, I have found that if I go to an album that has art in iTunes and does not sync to the iPod, and play each track just for an instant, and resync, the art transfers. What's weird is that it's not consistently NOT showing up on the iPod... and I certainly don't want to have to hunt down every piece of music with art that doesn't sync to the iPod and play that song. Is there a way to make iTunes refresh the library without deleting the database? I don't use iTunes to manage my physical music files.

  • Album art not matching up when synced from itunes to ipad2?

Has anyone had this issue. Songs are correct but they matched up with the wrong album art?

    I think you're right KeRaMa19.
I also have my iPod set up to be managed manually. I don't want to take up hard drive space on my boot drive with 130GB of music (I back up all my music to an external HD).
I think that, unlike the prior version of iTunes, iTunes 11 doesn't access the iPod's Album Art cache… though with BBEdit (display hidden files, enable everything), I see that there is a database on my iPod under *iPodName* / iPod_Control / Artwork / ArtworkDB
Curiously, the ArtworkDB file is only 1.7MB. However, I have 4 .ithmb files that are 73.6MB, 460.2MB, 13.8MB and 66 KB (and 2 .tmp files that are 1.5MB and 16KB).
The other curious thing is that, when I use iPod Access to copy/rip songs from my iPod to my desktop, the resulting copies of the mp3's DO display the artwork in iTunes when I play them (off my desktop).
As I said, it appears that iTunes 11 no longer accesses the artwork database on the iPod. I hope they fix that, because it's an inconvenient pain in the a§§

  • Can't sync iTunes! device not being displayed when I connect to computer.

I have been syncing my iphone just fine, now suddenly I plug into my computer and my Device only shows up in iphoto that pops up on screen. Usually iTunes appears as well with my "Device" on the left and the phone would sync automatically. Now iTunes doesn't even pop up. Has some setting on my computer changed not allowing it.  Basically I can not manage my phone with my computer anymore. My wife iphone is doing the same thing.

  • Album Art not displaying in iTunes

I have several mp3s where the album art does not display in iTunes, it does, however, display when I use other software such as MediaMonkey or foobar2000.  The album artowork is stored in the tag.  I've tried retagging them within iTunes, but it doesn't always work and is a time consuming process.  I've also tried removing the ID3v1 tag portion from the file and leave just the ID3v2.3 tag, but no success either.  Any thoughts?

It only happens wih some files, and I can't seem to find out what the correlation is.
If I take a series of mp3s where the album art cannot be displayed in iTunes but can in MediaMonkey or, extract the album art from the the tag through MediaMonkey (iTunes artwork fetching usually gives me poor results), and then assign the album art through iTunes, yes the album art does appear to be saved and displayed through iTunes.  But that's a process.
Additionally, if I reassign the artwork in MediaMonkey (not readding it, just reapplying the assignment to all selected items) the artwork will show up in iTunes.
I'm going to play around with Mp3Tag and see if that yields anything.

  • Some album art not displaying

I have the 80gb model and recently I did that thing where you erase all the album art and reload it to fix some that were showing up as black boxes. But then I found that now a good chunk of my album art won't display at all. For those songs all the song data instead of being centered is right justified but there's no album art. I narrowed it down and I found that this is only happening to art where I pasted the art into the song data. I would really like to know how I can get this fixed without having to redo all of my album art.
I did already try doing a reset but that didn't help.

I have the 120 GB iPod Classic. Some artwork was not illustrated, only a black square was showing.
I solved the problem as follows:
With iPod connected to PC, select all the songs of the affected album. Right click to obtain "Get Info" for the complete album. The artwork panel should be blank, so click the box beside artwork panel. Press "OK". This will put a blank &, more importantly, clear the defective/corrupted artwork in the iPod.
Repeat the process, select all the songs of the affected album, Right click to obtain "Get Info", then paste the good artwork into the panel. Click all the boxes of all relevant data & press "OK". The good artwork will be entered. You can disconnect the iPod from the PC to check that the artwork is now showing correctly. This worked for me on a number of albums which had the black square showing.
    Good Luck

  • Installing art when "Album Art Not Modifiable"

I was recently trying to drag and drop album artwork into the iTunes photo receptacle in the lower left hand corner and noticed that it read "Album Art Not Modifiable". Does that mean I can't paste anything there? There's no art at all currently, even when I ask iTunes to find the album art for that CD. If anyone knows of a way to override this, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

    Is that really true?
'Cause being new to this, I've only just added a few albums as .wav and succesfully downloaded album art, using the functionality within Itunes. And this should not have been possible? For instance Loretta Lynn "Van Lear Rose", Emmylou Harris "Stumble into grace" and Elvis Costello/Burt Bacharach "Painted from Memory" all worked just fine. But Itunes was not able to download album art for all my albums - Simply Red "Greatest Hits" from 1996 was one that did not work. So I browsed the internet and was able to find jpegs of this album art, which I know have stored locally. But how do I get that into Itunes?

  • Embedded Album Art not Displaying Showing in Windows Explorer

Trying To Clean up my Music Collection using windows explorer.  Embedding album art works fine for MP3's yet it is not replacing the (film/file/musicnote/baloon/) icon for Mpeg4 - M4A files.
What annoying is that the embedded art may be present but I can't tell just by looking at the individual files.  how can I get confirmation outside of loading up itunes?
is it possible for me to get the embedded art to display in place of the file icon in windows explorer for these file types?  if so, how?

It only happens wih some files, and I can't seem to find out what the correlation is.

  • Why is it when I add photos from iPhoto onto an iMovie project, it is not displayed when I play the movie from beginning to end, although I can see it in the (edit) format?

    Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering why is it that when I place an image from iPhoto to an iMovie project, it is not displayed when I play it from beginning to end in fullscreen playback mode? However, when I exit it on the timeline, it is shown. All I did as drag it from the iPhoto column and place on at the beginning. I would really appreciate someones help because I really need to be able to place images onto my projects. Thanks!

Sounds like your talking about iMovie for Mac?

  • Songs Won't Play, Album Art Not Modifiable, ID3 Tags, Need Help

I have a 32 GB iPod Touch, Windows Vista, the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime as well as the latest iPod software.
I noticed the other day that a bunch of my songs were missing album art. I have a library with almost 7,000 songs and I have album art for everything. I went to the songs to attempt to fix the album art and noticed that it said, Album Art Not Modifiable, in the Album Art preview screen. I thought that was weird and it wouldn't let me add new album art to these albums.
I also noticed that none of these songs would play. They wouldn't play on my iPod or on iTunes. You can click play and it looks like it's going to play, but the counter never leaves "0".
I thought something was wrong with my files and that I would have to re rip or download the songs. However, by chance I opened one of the songs in Window Media Player and it worked, so I knew the files were fine.
I did a search online and found several people with the same problem and a few things to try. But nothing worked until I stumbled upon a solution of setting the ID3 tags to version "None", then setting them to version 2.4. I tried it and it worked.
But now it keeps happening, I get a new group of albums every day that won't play.
Can anyone tell me what is causing this?
    How do I prevent it?
Do I really need to take every song in my library and change the ID3 tags, that could take forever?
Could anyone please help and shed some light on this.
    Thank You

Thanks for replying, Please read our Operating System details before taking a guess about what 'could' be the problem...
I think I figured it out anyway, Windows Media Player might be adding extra information that iTunes does not like, either Windows Media Player and/or iTunes 7.7.1 don't conform to ID3 v2.4 standards...
Please fix your software, Apple. I know how you love to be unique and mock PC users with your one-sided advertisements but at least conform to the ID3 standards.

I have had the same issues. It all started with iTunes 7.0. I have lost all track numbers as well, so now all my songs are in ABC order. It really *****!!
The only way I have been able to fix the artwork issue is to cut the artwork off of the file the re-paste it back on. (I have over 3,000 tracks, very time consuming) This has worked for most of the files but I am still coming across a few tracks that have the incorrect artwork on them.
