Album view issue.

Does anyone know how to stop the album view from showing the track list of the first album of a given letter when quick searching?

Anyone?!

  • ITunes album view not working and no album art?

    Hi all -
Bought a 64GB iPhone 5 and uploaded my music via my desktop - all seems to have run fine, except that album artwork isn't showing for many of them, even when I select the option "View artwork".
I've read on another thread that ID3 tags of 2.3 or lower are not supported, but find it hard to accept there's no compatibility here - so am presuming user error rather than Apple trying to force users to manually update all their albums (I have 57GB of music - don't want to update album art on everything!)
Also, I've just downloaded and installed iTunes on my laptop, and connected the iPhone to laptop. However, the album view options aren't working. All songs are simply listed by album name, but none of the column listing features work either (ie, sort by name, genre, etc).
I presumed iTunes had crashed, but restarting the laptop and the same happens. Am on latest software for iTunes and iOS 6.
One more curiosity - how do I download my music from the iPhone to the desktop? I had presumed it would do this automatically (ie, into the iTunes media folder) but so far nothing.
Or is it simply the case that iTunes is preparing to download all music into the desktop, hence why it's not working properly? Simply because there's no notice of anything happening.
Apologies for any newbie questions - found myself using the iPad quite a lot for apps, but never for music as it was only the 16GB version, so have been sold into joining the Apple walled garden. Would be nice to get these issues sorted out, though.

    Hi David
Yes, I found the importer now. I also fixed my problem, but with 'brute force':
For each of the folders not being indexed, including the ~/Library/Mail folder, I turned on Privacy in the Spotlight System Prefs and then turned it off again. This seems to have fixed things. I did this for some old document folders too and that also seems to have worked.
So far so good. thanks again. For now I'm marking this as solved.

  • IPod touch music dissapears from album view and other things

I'm honestly suprised to the fact that my old iPod video works better on this factor than the iPod touch I upgraded to.
My problem lies in the fact of syncing makes my iPod decide certain things stay on Album view and dissapear from it. To give an example:
Before sync - Album of Disneyland Music is still together on album view and nothing has vanished.
Add in another song to the compilation of music on the album for easy listening.
    Sync iPod
Album of Disneyland music has vanished completely and only the new song added in is viewable in the album listing.
Don't think that it's gone competely. I've searched and the music is actually in the iPod, just not in the albums listings. It's everywhere else listings on the iPod.
This has irked me ever since I bought the thing since another issue that just drives me up the wall. With my iPod video if I listed the music under an album it'd be sorted into the album with no problem. With the iPod touch however if ONE thing is off it gets sorted into its own lisiting on the Album view even though it shares the same Album title with another song. Example:
Old music that doesn't get recognized has to have information added in
    Albums are correct
    Artists are correct
    Sync iPod
Album listing has multiple listings from the same album with the artists as its sorting spot. (or if it even showed up at all...)
I've tried multiple times to fix this and nothing works. (and i've checked and unchecked sort by album artist, no dice.) I attempted to contact an iTunes help as it was partly on the program's fault, the helper didn't understand what I was talking about. Can anyone help me here?
and no I can't resort to my iPod video as I've killed the selection middle button thanks to a game. That and it also had an issue with connecting and I kept having to refresh it.

I looked in Compilations and the album that's vanished from Album view isn't in there. I checked via Artist view and the songs are there so the music is in the iPod but it's being a little wise sucker and not showing me the album in the Album view.
I fear for the videos I have to put on my iPod for class reference today...

  • All columns disappeared in album view

Today I started iTunes and all the columns in the album view disappeared. I can right-click the bar at the top and enable artist, album, genre etc., however there is no option to display the number and track name (including the check box).
    Screenshot: http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/8062/itunese.png
I tried reinstalling iTunes but that didn't fix the problem.
Is there anything that could be done to bring the standard columns back?

Nope, in fact these two columns are not even draggable, so it's not possible to hide them normally.
It's strange that I didn't do anything that might have caused this issue directly. I was just browsing my library and the columns weren't there.
Another detail: this only happens in the album grid view after double-clicking an album. All the columns appear normally while browsing by artist, genre, composer or in the plain list view.

  • Artwork messed up in Album view iPod app

    Hi all,
Ever since about a week, the artwork for my music in Album view is completely messed up.
The pictures show up in all different sizes covering up other albums, which I cannot open anymore.
See the screenshot on the following link: http://t.co/RBT4sol / http://www.flickr.com/photos/atmasphere/5353621694/
Tried rebooting / restarting the iPod app / giving iPad a 'hard reset (home + power button)' but the issue is still persisting and gets really annoying.
    Any advice on this?

This one's easy. Guns and Roses never had a great hit!

  • Duplicate albums in album view

    Hi,
Im sure this question has been asked before, but I cant find out so here goes.
I have upgraded to iTunes 11, and so far seems much better than iTunes 10!. Anyway, the only issue that I have found is that for some albums, there are duplicate entries in Album view. When you click on them, 1 of the entries has 1 song, but the other has the rest of the songs.
In this example, as you can see, there are two entries in for this album. The one shown has track one, yet the other one has all the remaining tracks. When this album is copied to my iPhone, I only get one entry for this album, and all tracks are present! This has happened for both me and my partner, and it is really annoying.
I have checked the "Get Info" for both albums, and I cant see any difference between the tracks! Is this a bug in iTunes or is this just iTunes being annoying?
    Thanks
    Graeme

This worked for 2 of my albums that are showing double. I have 4 more that it won't work for and I don't know what to do. I tried renaming it and then naming it back to normal but it goes back to the same thing. Sometimes when I rename it to X some of them are grouped closer so instead of 5 there are 2 and then when I group them back with their regular name they go back to 5. and all the information other than that is completely identical and none of them are marked as compilations. Please help!

  • Lost Album in Album View

I have an album that I first synched with the iTouch that was titled Greatest Hits by Queen. I could see the album artwork no problem in album view. Then this last weekend I downloaded a couple of songs from the album Greatest Hits by Fleetwood Mac. Now the artwork for Queen is gone and the songs from the queen album are merged with the songs from the Fleetwood Mac album under the Fleetwood Mac artwork.
When I play the individual tracks the correct artwork for the song is displayed however.
It looks like when the album titles are the same name only the last album synched is displayed.
Question, do I need to rename the album and create a unique name in Get Info and if I do will I loose the artwork nextime I "Get Artwork" from iTunes or is this a bug in version 2.2.1 of the iPhone software? What the best way to resolve this issue?

is this an iphone or ipod touch.....
anyway, just go to the music section in itunes, find the song in question, right click, get info, artwork. Delete what is in there. Select advanced, get album artwork, and see if that fixes it. If not, just get an image file off the internet somewhere, preferrably a 300x300 image file or better. Save it in my pictures or either make a new file "albums", then go to the music section in itunes, find the song in question, right click, get info, artwork, add the image.

  • Bazaar Album Artwork Issue

So I have a very strange album artwork issue with my iPhone 4. I've verified that the artwork is correct for the songs this is occurring with (each individual song, not the albums).
When I play certain songs (only certain ones) I get a mosaic of incorrect album artwork.
    http://gallery.me.com/jsagurton#100012/Album%20Artwork&bgcolor=black
I've again verified that in iTunes the album artwork is correct, and even copied the correct album artwork file to my desktop and then changed the artwork for this particular song to the correct artwork and resynced the device, and the issue still happens.
The issue also happens in coverflow, if the song I'm playing has the weird album artwork. Once I scroll to another album though, the artwork goes back to the correct artwork in coverflow. Going back to the standard view brings back the incorrect artwork however.
What's even more bazaar about this, is the mosaic isn't always consistent. A bunch of songs do this, but have different album covers making up the mosaic, and I have nothing in iTunes with a mosaic of artwork like this.

I have the same problem and posted a request for help but no-one has replied with an answer. It annoys me greatly that APPLE will not assist and in fact want to charge me $29 to even look at the problem, when it is their buggy software that is at fault.
Looks like we are destined to be screwed by APPLE over this.

  • Imported cd generates 3 identical icons in album  view. First icon has 10 songs. Second icon has 1 song, and third icon has 1 song,  How do I combine the three identical icons in album view.

When I import a cd, itunes generates three album icons.  The first icon, in album view, has a picture of the cd and 10 of the 12 songs on the cd.  The second album icon has no picture of the cd, but a picture of two eighth notes tied together, and has one of the songs from the cd on it.  Same thing with the third album icon.  No pic of cd, but the two notes, (musical notation) and it also has only one song from the cd on it. (different from icon 2.)
I would like to know how I can combine all three icons into one icon.

Same thing happens to me. It happens also when I add to library from HD. I've already checked all info and couldn't find anything different that could justify this behavior. The funny thing is that sometimes (sometimes, only) I just delete the tunes (removing from iTunes AND moving files to trash), add the files again and everythig is ok.
I've noticed, also, that using TuneUp Media may, sometimes, solve this issue. I just drag the albuns to TuneUp Clean area and issue solved...
I just can't understand why this is happening...
I also use iMac (late 2009) with Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

  • Itunes does not display asrtist name in album view on remote

When viewing my music on my IPad using remote app in album view it no longer displays the artist's name un the album title, when using an older version of ITunes  V 11.4.0.18 it was displayed.
Mini mac(2013)  running Mavericks Ipad Air running ios 8.1  latest version if  ITunes.
When I boot up my old PC using iTunes v11.4.0.8  and connect my pad to it    the artist's name is displayed un the album name.
Does anyone know how to get the latest version of ITunes  to do what v11xxxx did.

Thanks for info Stefan. I have gone back to using my music on my old PC on which ITunes was not updated (nor will it) . This gives me the functunality I need and will wait and see if Apple put out a patch to fix the artist display issue.
As an aside I have found an app for my old Motorola phone called Retune which very good, it does everything that Remote does and more.. It is a shame that my crappy old phone has a better music system than my expensive IPad.
    Regards
    Roger

    Hello Flemcat,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are missing content from iTunes library. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Album view

Before updating to iTunes 11.2.1, in Album view, I used to be able to type in the artists' name, (not in the search, just as is) and it would jump to that artist. Now it doesn't do that anymore. Am I the only one experiencing this?

Having the same problem.  Since the update, I can type in the artist name and the first album from the artist will indeed be selected and open, but the client display will jump down many rows past.  For example, if I type in J-A-C for Jack Johnson, his first LP does get selected, but the screen jumps down to an S artist and those albums are displayed.  Conversely if I am viewing albums by S artists and type J-A-C, the frame jumps to D artists.  It's a weird issue.  Any insight or links to other threads dealing with this issue would be helpful.

  • Is anyone else having problems with Sound Check playing tracks at the wrong volume in Album view?

I have noticed in the last few weeks that when I play an album on iTunes, some of the tracks are played at a lower volume.  I am using sound check, and when I play the tracks individually from the "Songs" view they all play at the correct volume.  However, when i choose album view, some of the same tracks are played at a lower volume.  I have rang the support line and they couldn't tell me why this is happening.  Has anybody else had this happen to them, and does anyone know a way round this?

I have problems with many of the same issues you mention with zoom on iOS8.  Its not entirely clear if this is intended functionality or a number of bugs.  The setting for full screen view versus window/regional view seems to not apply globally, which is insanely frustrating.  Window view pops up without warning, particularly in a keyboard pop-up event.
I don't particularly liek the popup menu either, but now I HAVE to use it to constantly change from the sudden change to window focus to full screen zoom.
Some of the new filter features are nice additions, but don't seem to work well. or be performance optimized.  Low-light, for example, stutters on zooming.
I would also assert that zooming in and out seems more abrubpt and less accurate.
iOS8 is definitely a decrease in usability and performance from its predecessors.  Apple, please work out the bugs and get this right!

  • Why is Remote app album view different than iTunes?

I use the Remote app on my iPad to control the streaming of my PC's iTunes music library to my stereo.  I like the Album view because I can see most of the album covers. In iTunes 11.1 on my PC, album view displays the albums alphabetically by artist.  i.e. all Beatles albums are listed before any Rolling Stones albums.  But when viewing the same library on my iPad using the Remote app, the albums are listed alphabetically by album title, not by artist.  So each artist's albums are scattered all over.  I don't know about you, but when I'm looking for an album to play, I think about artists, not titles of albums.  But there doesn't seem to be any way to change the way the Remote app orders albums.  Am I missing something?  Is there any way to configure the Remote app to display albums in artist order?

Hi go the first page of the Remote, the one which shows your shared libraries.
Click Settings, and then Sort by Artist tab,
    Hope that helps!

  • How to navigate with the keyboard in album view?

    Hello
Is there a better way to navigate through the albums and then select/control tracks within an "open" Album in Album-View without using the mouse than what I am trying to describe below?
    iTunes is idle.
switch to album view (shortcut to switch view-methods?), select album by typing a few letters or using arrows
press space to play the first track
press cmd-L to highlight the playing track
use left/right/up/down arrows to navigate in the files of the open album
return to start playing the selected track
    escape to close the album
    cmd-. to stop playing
arrows to navigate the album-collection, space-bar to start playing album (track 1)
    cmd-L to highlight playing track
arrows to navigate tracks in the album. (if the playing trck is highlighted)
    cmd-left/right to play previous/next track
method to select/start playing a specific track in the open album? (While itunes is either idle or playing from another album)?
