Albums in PSE 12

How do I delete Local Albums in Elements 12 - and how do I rename them ?

I should have included in my question, that I use an iMac.
I have discovered that right-click does not work in Macs, but that Ctrl+click on the file name will give access to a drop-down menu, and so allows Rename, Delete! Edit.
Thanks for the help.

  • How do I transfer tags from Photoshop Album to PSE 7?

I hope someone can help me here.  I have downloaded PSE7 and intend to buy it as I understand that this is the upgrade path for Photoshop Album.  I bought a new computer running Vista but Album does not work with it.
I have tried to convert the .PSA catalog file from Album, but PSE tells me that it can't complete the job and wants me to repair the file with the original product.  I have no idea how to do this or indeed what it means.  The file works fine on my XP computer with the same pictures.  Does anyone know what I can do to make this work?  If it doesn't work I will have to retag over 5000 pictures.  I really don't want to do that, and will probably not go on to purchase the product.
    Thanks in advance.  Mike

Thanks for your very prompt response.  Unfortuanately I have tried this and still the same answer.  I have even tried saving the catalog as another filename, but it still tells me to repair the file in the original application.
Any further help would be gratefully received.

  • Transferring albums from PSE 8 to PSE11

How do I transfer albums from PSE 8  to PSE 11? I have transferred the catalogue, but the album settings don't appear to have come across.

I have the albums pane visible, but the individual album title does not appear, although the pictures which are in the album show as being tagged for that album!

I take it that you have installed PSE13 on the same computer. Did you notice the dialog prompting you to 'convert' the previous catalog? If you have agreed, the old catalog (containing the albums definitions) has been converted to the PSE13 format, and you get your old albums from that catalog. If you have not agreed, it's still time to do so. Open the catalog manager in PSE13; then click on the 'convert' button. Select the old catalog from the list and convert.

  • All my Albums in PSE 10 have disappeared.  Need help asap to recover.

All my Albums in PSE 10 have disappeared.  Need help asap to recover.
I have over 50 Albums and over 20K photos.
I did nothing wrong that I am aware of.
I believe Adobe intentionally sabotages older versions to force you to purchase the new version.
This has happened now 4 times in a row.  To hide what they are doing they change the problems.
When I purchase the new version the problem miracleously disappears.

    Hi,
Please ensure that correct catalog is open. Can you please show me a screenshot of your Elements Organizer 10 catalog?
To confirm if albums are actually gone or is in some odd view, you may check at one more place - click Find > By Details (Metadata) > choose "Album" and see if your albums get populated in the adjoining dropdown in this dialog?
    Thanks

  • Need help editing scanned images of old photo album pages PSE 9

Before I begin this project, I thought I'd get some advice from someone who has undertaken a similar project.  I have three photo albums from the 50's and 60's.  The albums were made by my mother who mounted the photos (mostly black and white but some color photos) on construction paper (of various colors) using the corner holders or glue.  She hand cut the construction paper so each page is not a perfect rectangle ( about 11" tall, 8.5" wide).  The pages were punched and put into a three-ring binder.
She added text to the edge of the photo and/or to the construction paper.  Each page contains one to 6 photos and text.  Each album has about 120 pages.  I want to keep the notes on the construction paper so I scanned each page into a TIF files, 400 dpi and stored the images in a separate folder for each volume.
I use (poorly) PSE 9.  I see it has a auto straighten/crop feature that can be used one photo at a time.  I tried the divide scanned images function and that did not fully separate all images on the page and also created an image for stray objects on the page such as an unused corner holder.  (I know those things have a better name but it escapes me now.)
I plan to create photo books for my siblings.  I am now thinking of cropping the image of each page (rather than each photo on the page) into a uniform size, adjusting levels, contrast and sharpness, saving this image to a JPEG file, and using these edited JPEG images to create the photo book.  Since each page was hand-cut, there will areas of white where one page was torn or cut smaller than another page.  Some pages will have blanks where old photos have been lost leaving behind only the corner things.  It won't be perfect but it will be an image of the album as it exists today.
    My questions are:
The pages are about 11 by 8.5.  Does anyone know a photo service that prints photo albums in a portrait layout in this size?  I  have been unable to find one; it looks like most online photo books are wider rather than taller.
Let's assume I use a company such as Shutterfly that offers a 12x12 format.  I assume it would be better to edit the images in PSE9 rather than any online software.  What should I do to keep the proportions in the current images true but make the image fit a 12x12 page, for example?
IS there any other editing software anyone can recommend that will speed this up, hopefully a software that would take multiple photos at one time, auto-straighten and auto crop to a set size?  And also auto contrast/level/sharp.  If I could use such auto features on these images and then go back and adjust the photos that did not play well with the auto features, that would save me time.
I appreciate anyone's input.  I dread doing this but we have one set of photos and 5 siblings so it has to be done.  Thanks!

    Hi,
Mentioning your issues one by one:
    1) PSE does not have any portrait Photobook available, so your thought was the best way to get the work done is by choosing the 12x12 - shutterfly one.
    2) PSe does a good job of editing the images. You can set your images of approx. 11x8  size to fit to the 12x12 page. Just choose a one photo page Layout for the page and then right click on the image to " Fit photo in the frame".
    3) If more edits are required for the image, you can easily go to Advanced mode and edit your photos, layouts, move the frames, images or add effects to the images.
    4) Photo book creation sure takes time. because, you want it to be the best. I am sure PSE would help you best here.
Go ahead and create you photobook. Inc ase you get stuck somewhere, you can always post here to get help!
    Cheers,
    Swarnima

  • Delete albums in PSE 11

How do I delete albums in Ps11 organizer??
< thread title edited by forum host >

Sorry, your last post and mine must have crossed.
Okay, then I would first try File>Manage Catalogs>Repair. If that doesn't help,  go to your username>library>preferences and delete com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist and com.adobe.ElementsOrganizer11.plist and any lockfiles with the same names.
That library is hidden in 10.8. To see it, in the Finder click the Go menu and hold down the Option key. While you're in there, also go to the Saved Application States folder and delete anything pertaining to PSE.

  • Moving albums from PSE 9 on PC to iPhoto '11 on Mac

    Hi,
I'd like to move all my photos and my albums that I've setup in PSE 9 on my PC to iPhoto '11 on my iMac.  I have been able to move just the photo files and import them into iPhoto, however, I lose all the albums if I just to an import.
I tried following the process outlined at the bottom of this post (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080702225914AAmKVhU), but it didn't work the way I thought as it transferred only the photos and it didn't maintain the albums.
Has anyone figured out a way to move all photos along with their respective PSE 9 albums to iPhoto '11?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

Well, no, this isn't going to work (at least it doesn't for 99% of the people who think it's what they'll do). For one thing, it's not how to use iphoto: you run a serious risk of inadvertently writing something to the iphoto library from outside iphoto and that will corrupt the library. Eventually you are going to have to choose between organizer and iphoto as your main photo management tool. Your current procedure will drive you crazy eventually.
If you want to organize photos in iphoto and edit them in PSE, there are two ways to do it:
    1. Set PSE as your external organizer, use iphoto to browse your photos and send them from iphoto to the PSE editor. Save, not save as, without changing the name or format and iphoto will remember one version plus original (what you mean by 'stacks' is not stacks but version sets, I realize after seeing your post in the apple forum).
    2. Export photos from iphoto to the desktop, edit in PSE and then save the new photo under a new name and import it as a new image to iphoto.
But your current procedure is just going to cause untold confusion down the road, even if you don't manage to damage your iphoto library.
If you find the mac organizer satisfactory (it's very much a 1.0 effort at this point) then use that instead of iphoto, but using both almost always leads to confusion later on.

  • How do I restore my PSE 7 Albums in PSE 9?

When I installed PSE 9 on my Windows 7 PC, something happened and my Albums and organized Keyword Tag tree did not come over correctly. I manually re-organized my Keyword Tags but really do not want to have to manually recreate my Albums. Tech Support gave me a tip that brought over the "Albums" but not their contents. I would like to uninstall PSE 7 but before I do, I would like to give the Forum a shot in solving something Tech Support could not. Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply. I installed PSE 9 about a month ago and have already re-organized much of it to my liking and have added new albums. I don't want to risk having to re-organize what has already taken many hours to correct.Organizer behaves very strangely in this version on my PC (frequent long updates ending in error messages; ANY maneuver in Folders View takes 4-5 minutes to complete) and I suspect it is conflicting with something. My first planned move is to uninstall PSE 7, but I have a number of albums that did not come over during the installation of PSE 9 and it would be nice to somehow just move them over before I zap PSE 7 I do not want to move files to a backup and then reinstall them (over 66,000 photos, all backed up in the "cloud," and likely would have to re-associate all of them again on the server, which could take weeks with my service). I am prepared to just move on and recreate some of the albums in the future at my leisure, but thought I would give the forum a try.

  • Exporter la liste des albums avec PSE 8

    Bonjour,

  • Relocating (moving) pictures in an Organizer Album using PSE 6.0

I am using  PSE 6.0. I have my pictures in the Organizer as an album. The pictures are currently in Date (oldest first) order and that is the order I generally want. However I want to move some pictures before others, for example, PIC 10 (dated Jan. 23, 2010) to be in front of PIC 5 (dated Jan. 17, 2010)? Also I want to duplicate a picture and move its copy to another place in the album. Is there a way to move pictures around in the order you wish once that have been brought into PSE from your hard drive? Thanks for any help.

You must first choose the album from the panel on the right. The thumbnails contained in that album can then be dragged around and form the new running order. Change from newest/oldest to Album Order (the third choice only becomes available within the album; not the overall catalog which has just the two sort options).

  • Where are albums in PSE 12

I can't find any of my albums, or see a way to create a new album, in PSE12 organizer.
    -- Larry

You will find them in the left hand panel. If the panel is closed, go to the bottom left of the Organizer window and click “Show”
Near the top click the small disclosure triangle to the left of Local Albums

    http://www.rene-grothmann.de/Vergleich.jpg

  • IPod Touch 2G No Longer Sees Photoshop Elements (PSE) Album Photos

    Hello Forum,
All was working fine. I would create an album in PSE 7 on Win XP, my iPod Touch would see the album and all the photos in that album, successful sync, and copies of the photos would be stored on my iPod Touch.
Then for data security and redundancy, I relocated my My Documents folder to a network RAID disk array. My Music and My Photos folders therefore also got relocated. After fixing some paths iTunes works fine, and PSE 7 also works fine. PSE 7 albums are completely intact and accessible from the network share.
BUT, when I go to sync my iPod Touch with PSE7, the iPod sees all the PSE album names in iTunes, but says that each album has exactly 0 photos. So now my iPod has no photos. Please help me fix this problem.
One other thing, if I point my iPod at a specific photo folder on the network share, and tell it to sync to this folder, the photos in the folder move to the iPod with no problems. But I don't want to have to create photo copies in new folders just to sync with the iPod; the PSE Album concept is perfect, if it would only work now!
    Thanks, Ken

I've had exactly the same issue with my iPhone 3GS and iTunes 10.4.  I reported it to Apple and was told it was likely an error that crept into 10.4 and to expect a fix in an upcoming release of iTunes.  I'm waiting for that to happen still...
