All adobe applications work like a dream. Except Illustrator. Can anyone help?

I just recently bought a iMac 5K retina, base model. I've been using all applications for a while now and while everyone one of them works like a dream, illustrator is extremely choppy and unworkable. As in, when I drag an dartboard, it slowly gets dragged. In fact I didn't have this problem on my Mac air. Can anyone please help me?

I've posted the same question on their Illustrator community. But haven't gotten any replies so far.
Here's the thing though. When I use the exact same illustrator file on my Mac air (late 2011, I think.) it works perfectly. No lag, no choppiness. I've installed Yosemite on that as well. So I don't know what going on.
In fact when I use applications like premiere pro and photoshop on my 5K iMac, it works without one iota of a lag. I just don't understand why only illustrator is having this problem. And since I 80% of my designs are done on illustrator, I'm feeling a bit nervous. I wonder if any other 5K owners are experiencing anything like this...?

Here’s what I am experiencing more specifically:
1. Illustrator is not showing up in my Application folder.
2. My creative cloud app manager says that Illustrator is installed.
3. I try to download it from Adobe.com and it never initiates the download.
Does that ring any bells?

Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

Sounds like the restore went bad on you. You probably need to restore using recovery mode now. Take a look at this.

Only some apps support the video out feature such as the default Videos app. What are you trying to output to the TV?

They don't even seem to have my correc date of birth so I can't progress the reinstallation. I'm currently abroad and have my iMac with me but with no way of contacting Apple that I can find, I'm at a loss and very reluctant to pay £35 to try and get my ID and pasword sorted out given that their system recognises my current details. can anyone help please?

when they gifted me the mountain Lion software several years ago.
Mountain Lion was introduced in July 2012. Did the people who gifted you possibly use their Apple ID for the purchase of your OS? If you used your own Apple ID, you should have simply used the one you use for all things app store. The problem with any purchase at the app store is: whatever Apple ID was used to purchase, it willl stay tied to that Apple ID forever. And, purchases from the app store are not transferable.
So, you can check with the person(s) who gifted you or spend $20 to buy it - or, if your hardware is compatible with the new OS Mavericks, you could download it and associate it with your Apple ID.
FWIW, according to the licensing agreement, the OS remains the property of Apple and you are only granted a license to run it.

Make iTunes 11 look and function more like iTunes 10:
From the upper left corner, choose “Show Menu bar”
From the “View” menu, choose, “Show Sidebar”
Now your iPod device shows up as is did before.

Re: Movie Clip not working in exported interactive PDF. Can anyone help?

I've imported a movie clip into an InDesign document, but when I've come to export it as an interactive PDF it isn't working. I've made sure the Button and Media box is clicked in the export options to include all. I've exported it as a flash file and that works fine, so I'm assuming everything i've done in InDesign is okay. Any ideas?

Im having a the same issue, i have 2 f4v files inplace and one SWF. And when I export to a SWF and bring it back into indesign to be exported as an interactive PDF it the 2 f4v and SWF files in it will not work.

all other divs on the page shows but on particular one does not show.

Do you maybe have your contacts separated into groups? If so, perhaps you have unchecked the group that the missing contact are in.
In the Contacts app, click the Groups button in the upper left corner. Make sure all groups have a check mark next to them.

I recently had to update to os10.10 and consequently office 2011 with outlook. All was going well with the outlook mail until yesterday when the outlook send mail stopped working, receive works ok. I get error code 3259 and the message "an operation on the server timed out. the server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic." In the details "Mail could not be sent. Account name: "[email protected]" The send failure occurs on my yahoo accounts, gmail accounts and comcast accounts. Both send and receive work ok on apple mail. Can anyone help me sort this and avoid going to microsoft support?

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo
