    A few things to try:
    • Restore Permissions, using Disk Utility (in ~Applications/Utilities)
    • Set the correct Ownership & Permissions for the iTunes folder:
Select the iTunes folder in ~/Users/YourUsername/Music.
    Get Info (command-I).
Expand 'Ownership & Permissions' and 'Details:'
You must read: 'You can Read & Write': if not, change it.
Click on the 'Apply to enclosed items...' button.
    Hope this helps.

  • This application can't be opened

    Hello.
So I have been playing this game on my macbook pro for almost a year. Today, when I tried opening the app, it says The Application "NAME" can't be opened. I checked my trash but it wasn't deleted. I don't know what to do. Please help!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • Xcode application can't be opened

Has anyone seen this error message when trying to open the xcode application?
The application xcode can't be opened.

    Thank you

I would assume lots of people at one time or another. However without knowing your OS version and Xcode version there is no way to tell if anyone's experience with this applies to you.

  • All applications close after being open for 1 minute.

Recently, all applications I open on my Mac close after being open for 1 minute.  Safari and Microsoft word do not stay open for longer than 30 seconds.  Prior to this, my computer would freeze and eventually applications would close. I'm not sure why this is happening or how to fix it. Does anyone know what could of happen for everything to close after opening it? Any help would be great, thanks!

Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.
Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer.

  • Reinstalling PSE when application can't be opened

PSE 8 running on fully updated Windows 7.  Installed for about 15 months.  Application wont open using any methods.  I have discs to reinstall but I can't deactivate the current version.  I am concerned that if I uninstall without deactivation I wont be able to reinstall.

Moving the discussion to Photoshop Elements forum.
However, you may try the below suggestions and check if that helps:
    > Go to Tash Manager and end all the process starting from "PhotoshopElements" or restart the machine and try to launch PSE 8.

  • Installed Applications can't be opened

I have installed games and other stuff in my ipad and never had a problem opening them. Just recently each time I open some games it brings me back to my home and am not able to open the game anymore. Why does this happen?

It sounds like the iPad is crashing when you open one of these apps. You can give this a shot.
Hold down on the sleep button and home button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, let go of the buttons, and let the iPad restart. Then try one of the apps.
If you try one app and you don't crash, go on to the next app and try it. If you don't crash, try the next app. It may be that one of the newly downloaded apps is causing the problem.
If you find the app that is causing the problem, delete it and try downloading it again. You will not be charged again for apps that you have already purchased.

  • Running the latest OS Mavericks.  8 gigs of RAM.  150 gigs free space on computer.  Problem: since upgrading to Maverick almost all applications are slow to open, and frequently many 'spinning ball' interruptions.  Repaired disk permissions - no help.

I'm running the latest OS 10.9.1 Mavericks (late 2009 iMac).  8 gigs of RAM.  150 gigs free space on computer.  Since upgrading to Mavericks, apps are slow to open, with frequent "spinning ball" interruptions.  Repaired Disk Permissions - no help.  Repaired disk - no problems indicated.  Did notice in going to Utilities/Console that there are 4000 messages over a 3 day period.  Any suggesstions how to correct this sudden slow down, other than psychiatric help?

Yes.  Many messages show up when I try to use Office for Mac 08.  Here's a sample (and one that repeats over and over again):
2/11/14 1:01:16.577 PM Microsoft Word[1912]: OTAtomicAdd32 is deprecated and will be removed soon.  Please stop using it.
Also getting many msgs when I use Chrome.

but a few days later, suddenly, the application can not be opened.
with notification: The application was Unable to Start Correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application
what is the problem and what's the solution?

First of all, why can't you open it yourself? Is the file damaged? Does it give an error? Are you missing plugins?
Second: it is last saved as a CS5 file:

  • App can't be opened??

I am trying to open a .psd file with Pixelmator (which I know it can do) yet it tells me that "The application can't be opened. -35" See the pic below for a pic of the pop-up I get. How can I fix this behavior? What might be the cause of it?

    Thanks friends.
    Jim

Are you opening the file with Pixelmator or are you double-clicking the file?
If double-clicking, are you sure the correct application is associated with
    the file?
