All articles, forums (etc) 'answers' have screenshot of a Firefox page I've never seen... Also*..
I like to think I Try* to keep updated, and maybe it's just that I don't have a certain 'theme' downloaded... but when I find any possible answers to questions or problems, the screenshot (or partial*) shown is nothing* like mine and my page's buttons, don't "do" what the contributor is suggesting I try*.
Is there a way I can send a screenshot of my page / layout (with a list of all my add-ons, plug-ins, etc) and locate one of the 'answers' I am referring to, & send a copy / screenshot of That*, so maybe someone can tell me What I am missing, or simply haven't done or downloaded... like a theme, add on, plug in, (.. different toolbar*, maybe.. but I don't think a toolbar would change or stop any functionality associated with the Search/Location bar)?
*The 'answers' displayed page is supposedly coming from a Contributor or Tech Support, but Their* pages shown are consistent... the differing answer providers have very similar page layouts... ALL of them different from Mine*. The point is, I can't even Try* half of the suggestions Because of the pages' differences from mine and (primarily) button function or "click-result" I* get vice what is displayed.

Also... (yeah... sorry... 2nd question...) - Why don't Both "Java 7 SE U45" AND "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.450.18" (both "Vulnerable"...) have the same Options settings? Why can ONLY the 'Toolkit' be set to "Always Ask" while it is either ON or OFF for the Java 7 SE..?
You can't attach a screenshot to the first post that starts a thread, but you can do that in subsequent replies.
You can only attach a JPG image and not other document types.
A .ppt document would require to have PowerPoint viewer that not everybody may have installed or want or can to install (platforms other than Windows).
You get the orange Firefox menu button when the menu bar is hidden.
*Firefox menu button > Options
*View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)

The problem is:
I have been using site at different times from different accounts, and I have used autologin thing.
But when last time I opened the site, for some reason Mozilla automaticly logged in with my very old account.
For some reason in Security -> Passwords - I see only 1 "Login" detail for this site.
Is there any possible way to see all Logins (login information) I have used on this site to log-in?
May be some file folder is recording them?

finished, at about 26 chaps, 1) hard-drive went out, 2) visited site & then got "ur virus is infected buy us now" pop-ups (only time in 3 year. of using a mac, and 3) (forget what but an issue. Spent hours on-line, and at store. And finally w/an attorney when I kept being told it was user error. (I"m getting to book isssue I promise) During this time, Harddrive was wiped, external b-up replaced, something about "separated" etc. etc. and even computer replaced w/same issues afterward. Final vrdict 1 yr. later: 1_ we've never seen it 2_ we don't know what it is--not a virus, not harddrive malfunciton, not software issue 3_ we don't know how to fix it. Live w/it w/multiple errors and oddities every time you try to type or start all over. Got an attorney, and took it in again, and miractulously, "he" fixed it. However, in meantime, I wrote many duplicate chapts. when I couldn't find missing, or edited, some, etc.
Everything was writen in Pages, chapt. by chapt. Now I have a 27 chap. book(my first) in pieces--w/many duplicate or slightlychanged chapters all over the computer. I'm trying to reconstruct. Some chaps. I just can't find, some are garbled, some do strange things like left justifying and changing to single space (and can't change back to double, just have to erase and start over, on those old documents. Needless to say I have felt so defeated it's been really hard to get back to the almost finished book for last re-write.
The Questions: 1)I'm trying to find the chapters, and as I find and edit them I need to know how to make this massive achievement work. Should I continue w/chapter by chapt until all are finished? Or start putting them into single document as they are finished? How do I find anything? If I put finished in PDF to send to publisher, even tho it's my PDF, I can't go back and edit my own, except in a duplicate entire document, is that correct?
I cant' find the string to start unraveling this mess. I do have hardcopies made and presented to writing group so need to edit those chapters.
I'm used to paper typewritten copies of everything for manipulation, and I know things now I should have done on the Mac but didn't when I started. (I"m also having trouble getting a Table of Contents to work, which is making it doubly hard to find anything.)
To sum it up, I think, How do I write a book, with chapters (no technical sstuff, only a few footnotes & I may group them at the back of the book.) as far as manipulating documetns/folders, have ready for export, etc. Probably too long a question so go ahead and chew me out. (And I havent' used any other document except Text Edit in years.) I am overwhelmed an book is wasting away.If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.

I have a new iMac running iTunes 10.4 in OS 10.6.8, and a new Mac Air running iTunes 10.4 in Lion. I was able to transfer all my music etc. from the iMac onto the Air, but cannot figure out how to get the Playlists from the iMac to the Air. iTunes Help says File >Library >Export playlist and choose XML, or to save a copy of all your playlists, File > Library > Export Library, "the Exported info is saved in XML format." Then it says, "to import an iTunes playlist, File > Library > Import Playlist". Now I am assuming I do that import part on the Air, but when I try it doesn't recognize anything that can be imported - what am I missing??? Aside from a clue...
Thanks, Jim, for taking the time, but the reply is unfortunately vague in the exact area of my confusion! "you need to copy that file to your new computer..." Well, the Import/Export instructions make it seem as if the two computers should be able to communicate this file thru wifi, but that's the linkage I can't seem tocreate with Import/Export. Should I instead email a copy to myself (thats what applecare suggested)? Copy it to and from a thumb drive? But then place the file where? And the article was helpful, but should I be trying to move the Library file or the Library.xml file (as iTunes Help suggests)? Sorry to be so clueless about it...I suppose I buy Apple in the hopes of not having to think about this stuff, which approach seems not to be serving me well. Thanks again for your time!

I have removed all music/movies/etc. from iTunes due to duplicates. I have connected iTunes to a NEW library (38.33 GB) only to have the same problem, duplicates (2 or 3 of every song or 63.80 GB). I did not have this problem until syncing my library with the new Macbook Pro. I need a solution (a solution IS NOT sifting through my iTunes song by song and deleting the duplicates).
Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:

Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.

I have all my music on an external hard drive. I just transferred all my files to a new hard drive . How do I sync all my files with my itunes library without losing all my playlists etc and keep everything intact?
Launch iTunes with the Option key held down, click on Choose Library, and specify it. If the external drive doesn't contain the iTunes database files, create a new library there and import that music.
If the library contains any rented movies, they won't play on a different computer.

I am changing from Word to Pages. I have created my custom template with all my styles etc and that is what comes up when I go for a New Document. Fine. How do I get it to use the same Custom Template when I use Pages to open a Word document?
The template is a document in itself, it is not applied to an existing document whether it is a Pages document or a Word document converted to a Pages document.
You would need to either copy and paste content, using existing styles, or apply the styles to the converted Word document.
You can Import the Styles from an existing document and those imported Styles can be used to override the current document's styles:
Menu > Format > Import Styles
The process is simplified if the styles use the same names, otherwise you will need to delete the style you don't want and replace it with the one that you do want when asked, then the substitution is pretty straightforward.

hey, I want to install windows on my mac, I have mac osx lion and I'm soon going to get mountain lion. If I use Boot camp to install windows do I need a windows disc, will i lose all my data, etc. If so how to I save them. Can I switch back to osx after I install windows. ( can I switch between Windows and OS X as many times as I want.) thanks for answering.

I have changed operator and also changed IOS and did a back up of my old phone in Itunes so i would keep all my contacts etc. Now when i want to get everything back in the phone, Itunes asks me for a password, which i do not have since i did not enter any password when i did the back up. Is there any way I can bypass this password request? Otherwise i have lost all my contacts etc.
Greatful for help.Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service like Gmail, iCloud, or an Exchange server.

I downloaded later version of IPad software to watch a film. I backed up on itunes. All going well until i try to restore from itunes and all it says is you have used 5 authorisations. I've tried deauthorising and it then says I have been successful and now i have 0 computers authorised. I have two apple ID's so tried both. I cant locate anywhere it says deauthorise all. i've followed all help instructions to the letter over and over again. I am going on holiday thursday and cant get anything on my IPAD other syncing with Itunes but then on computer screen says cant sync unless deauthorise one of your 5 computers. Nightmare. I've spent hours since sunday and no further forward. Anyone any clues?

There are a few restrictions when it comes to deauthorize all option. One of them is that there has to be at least 2 accounts signed in. Another option is that you can only deauthorize all once a year. I have been unable to "update all" apps through my iphone and ipad. all my software is up todate, i have been to see numerous apple genious's and i even traveled to Cupertino to try and solve this issue. i am able to buy single songs, single apps, etc. the only Clue i can give that might have a relation to the issue is before the problem started, I was signing up for icloud and my itunes username totally disappeared from my devices. i was able to "resecure " the same username, but i think that somehow itunes to differentiating the two identical user names i had??? but as i said, i can still buy single apps, music, etc.
i am going crazy. can anybody help.Have you tried a Hard reset on your Device?

Check to see if the "silent" switch is turned on. This is either the hardware switch next to the volume control or a software switch on the "recent apps" tray depending on how you have your iPad configured (Settings > General).
Too see the software switch on the "recent apps" tray double-click the Home button and swipe the tray to the right. -
my i phone 5 was smashed and i cannot back it up because i need to enter my passcode lock. is there a way i can retrieve all my info etc before i buy a new phone?
If in the US or UK, most Apple stores will replace your screen/digitizer for US $149. If that's all your phone needs, you should be OK. Call your local Apple store to confirm.
However, if you've synced while this passcode was enabled, you won't have to enter it when connecting to your iTunes. Otherwise, there is no way to do what you want, & your data will be unrecoverable. -
WHY do I lose all my playlist etc when adding to my iPod? Do I seriously have to keep everything in iTunes permanently?
Keeping everything in an iTunes library, which you also backup, is the recommended way to deal with things. That way should your device need restoring you can connect to iTunes, restore and reload your content easily. The alternative is to manually manage the device, however should you need to restore it, damage it, or lose it, then you will also have lost the effort involved in ripping and organizing the media that you put onto it, and would need to repeat that process.

I have a feeling this has been up here a lot. I updated ios 6 to my phone (4S) with no problems but I also back my phone up. I decided to help the wife out and update hers and something went wrong data lost. All contacts, photos, etc without backup, help.
if you have no back up in icloud or itunes the best you can do is sync with your computer and get back what you can from there
