All music and preferences lost
Hello,
I need quick help. I installed little snip demoversion and after restart all my settings and libraries are lost. I cannot find any music files, all data for my bookkeeping applications are lost. The programs though are still there. The desktop is also sweept "Clean" everything that was on it is gone and the background is also et to default. It seems like it is a different user account but there is just one on it. All the internet settings were gone too but now they are back for what reason ever. Can anybody help please?

it seems that this has nothing to do with the installation of little snitch. I can acces some the information from my other computer via network. It seems that my account/user informations have been lost. Can I recall them?

I'm new here so apologies if this has already been posted before.
Problem I have is that I have gone from having 3500+ songs on my iPod touch to just 66 and I have lost 7 videos too.
I have not connected my iPod to a pc for around a year and have not changed any setting etc that may have caused this. I have called apple for support who told me to reset all settings from the settings menu and also to try and reset by holding down both the on/off switch and circular switch but neither have worked.
Can anyone help me get my music back? Some of it is no longer on my pc so if I can't solve this I'm about to lose a lot of moneys worth of music.
Hope someone has the answer.

Just checked iPod details and it still shows that I have around 20gb of used memory so it must be on there somewhere?

If you can't find these songs on your purchased list to redownload them (as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519), you'll have to contact iTunes store support for assistance: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

when I try to turn on my ipod touch I get a picture of a cracked apple and then a picture of a cable arrowed to the iTunes logo. I cannot do anything else. My computer now doesn't recognize the ipod and it looks like I lost all music and pictures. help!
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

I have a iPhone 5 with the most up to date software and I have songs appearing on my phone that I've deleted prior too from iTunes on the computer. How do I remove them from my phone, I've tried the left to right swipe and that just plays the songs! :/ Can anyone help me, I'd be forever grateful if I didn't have to go back to the store! I went I today abc he unchecked the show all music and there's still songs I don't want on my iPhone! :(
The answer to the question in the title of the thread is yes, but it is not necessarily a good idea. At some point you are likely to find you need to restore your iPod for one reason or another, or it could be lost, stolen or damaged. If your songs aren't on your computer, and backed up too, then you will be less than happy.

Accidently hid all music and photos from my phone?
So I was had my blackberry connected to my computer and I was trying to upload photos from it. There were some hidden ones that I couldn't get to so I decided to look around and see if I could find them. I right clicked the folder blackberry after I selected the device from my computer. I then went into properties and accidentally selected checkbox option of only show hidden, or something to that. Now when I look on the device, all folders are gone including camera, picture music, everything there isn't a single folder listed in the device when it is connected to my computer. And as a result all music and photos on my device even when not connected to my computer are lost. Please help me recover all my music and photos that I foolishly lost.

Go to Solution.On your computer you need to make sure it's set to show hidden files.
For Windows Vista and 7:

Once you have those showing in Windows then connect your device back to the computer and undo what you did. You should see the hidden folders in Windows now and you should be able to remove the checkbox for Hidden.

I upgraded my system to windows 7 ultimate from Vista and installed itunes 64px. but when I copy the old itunes folder into D://music and opened itunes, all my music cannot be played. each link shows the mp3 location as: file://localhost/D://music/itunes... ... I ve tried deleting library file and copy/past the original one again. doesn't work. what should I do now. It's 106 GB songs. I cannot locate them one by one nor lose all my ratings and play counts.
please help me!!!!!!!! >_<Was that Win 7 update from Lenovo, or Microsoft? If Lenovo, it should have installed those missing features. If it was from Microsoft, you have to manually install the Lenovo drivers and software.
The easiest way to do that is to first install ThinkVantage System Update and run it. It should download and install the other drivers and apps. I'm running Win 7 pro 64 on my T400 - a MS upgrade clean install, then TVSU installed the Lenovo stuff. Everything works.
Use the "SUPPORT" button at the top of this page, then "Download drivers and software" enter T400, install TVSU and you should be off to the races.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library. -

My daugther' iphone apple id is under my wife's email and now all music and pictures are attached to that id. My wife now has an ipad and I am looking at using the existing id during set up? Thus, I would like to establish new apple id for daughter, associated to her email account, however I do not want to lose or share her music/photos, nor share with my wife's id. Is this possible, or is it best just to establish a new id for my wife, and then change the email address associated with the existing apple id?
well if you establish a new apple id for your wife that would be best unless you email all of the existing photos to your email and then when you have established a new id then you log into your email on the new id and save all of your pics onto it by pressing on tthe pic for about 5-8 seconds then options will come up and you press the save to my album ..as for the music if you can copy and paste, through computer, the songs then awesome!

5.1 update - Now I can't sync my music and it lost two folders of "spoken" category
5.1 update - Since updating I can't sync my music and it lost two folders of "spoken" category in music folder. Refuses to sync it though I see and can play it on my computer. Help! Any solutions?
I realize this is a dumb question, but as I said, I am not computer savvy. After the download was complete, no pop-up box occurred prompting the install, so as you said, I clicked on start to try to search for the download of it. What do I look for to find the download of the new itunes version? I am embarrassed to be so dumb about this and appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

Music on my phone does not show all the iTunes artwork, even after doing a backup restore, eliminating all music and restoring I have an iphone5 64 syncing about 8000 songs, so updating all is a time consuming, and now maddening process. Never had a problem before iOS 8. Someone (hello Apple) needs to develop a utility to help manage artwork recovery.
