All of a sudden I have all my bookmarks displayed on the left of the screen and I can't get rid of them. How do I get rid of this box?
All of a sudden I have a box on the left of my screen with all my bookmarks in it. I can't find a way to disable this, and I would like to.
You can toggle the Bookmarks Sidebar on/off with Ctrl+B
* View > sidebar > Bookmarks
Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

My ipod is dead. I have tried resetting but to no avail. I have attached it to itunes and it sees the ipod is bad, but it still can't seem to work. How do I get it fixed?
Its probably just as you said, it's dead. I mean the battery.
I have a second generation iPod and the battery doesn't hold a charge long. So yours must be really struggling with the battery.
You can send it off for a battery replacement, or as is expected due to the cost of doing that and with standard manipulative business thinking, you could just get a new iPod like a good little customer. -
I have set up home sharing on both home computers, but as soon as I did this, the "shared" title on the left hand panel disappeared and I can't find it again. Any ideas?

How do I delete pix. In the edit mode the "delete" tab is red and I can't delete any pix.
If the delete tab is red after you tap the edit button, then you have to select the pictures that you want to delete by tapping on them. A blue check mark will appear in the lower right corner of the photo indicating that it has been selected. The Delete button should then turn bright red after you make your selections. Tap the delete button and that should remove the photos. This will work for photos in the camera roll or the photo stream.
Photos that you synced to your iPad must be removed by "unsyncing" them using iTunes on your computer. Deselect the albums in the photos tab of iTunes and follow that with a sync to remove them. -
Happened after a system crash. Thunderbird works, and I can read all my other folders, but I can't get access to the emails that were in my inbox yesterday and earlier.
Just one profile appears, so that doesn't appear to be the problem.
On your questions:
1) What operating system do you use: Windows 7
2) Are you using IMAP or POP? POP
3) If your mail server has a browser interface do the messages show up there? No, they were downloaded locally.
4) Right click on the folder in question and select Properties.
a) Number of messages? 104
b) Size on disk? 47.7 MB
But this is probably not the question you want to know, since this is the size of the folder and the mail I've received only after the crash and the disappearance of the email. At the time the folder failed, I would estimate it had around 1500 messages and probably close to 1GB in size.
5) Left click on the account name; View settings for this account; highlight Server settings; What choices are marked under "When I delete a message"?
There is no "when I delete a message" option under server server settings for this account. "Check for new messages at start up." "Check for new messages every 10 minutes," and "Automatically download new messages" are all checked under server settings. Fetch headers only and Leave messages on server are not. From a quick search online I see that this is not a POP option.

Certain web sites are displayed all on the left side of screen, and make the sit three times as long
sites such as espn are fine but when i click on the tab for college football everything is aligned to the left and all out of place. It's just a white page with all the words and pics running down the left side of the page wich makes the page four times as long as it should be. What is the problem?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I have a picture locked in my screen. How can I get this picture unlocked?
Does tapping on it not give you a Done option at the top left of it ? If not then try closing the Mail app completely andsee if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
this has happened every time I have run the clean-up feature. It is messing with some sort of setting in Firefox because if I uninstall Firefox and don't get rid of all my customizations (there is an option to keep/discard these upon un-installation) when I reinstall, I get the same problem...any ideas?!?
Why don't you stop using that program if it isn't working properly and corrupts your Firefox installation?

I have an ipad2 and all of a sudden I have stopped getting sound in my game apps. I get normal sound on YouTube and I player and downloaded DVDs. If I plug headphones in then I can get sounds for the games. I have switched the lock screen button off and on again and done a reset twice, can anyone help me with this?
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

I was trying to sync my iPod when all of a sudden I have 6.9 GB of information under the section "other" and I don't know where it came from and because of it I can no longer sync my iPod because there is too much info to fit. How do I get rid of this random information which I can't find any cause for on my iTunes library? Most of my content is audio at 7GB, my video is at .14GB, and I'm up to date in my software, and I have searched my iTunes for this 6.9GB of information and can find nothing that is in there that shouldn't be in there, so where did it come from? Where did it go? And how do I get rid of it? I have a Mac OS X Version10.6.8
"Other" represents data that iTunes can't recognize. A few hundred mb of other is normal. The 6.9 gb you have represents corrupted data (maybe from an interrupted sync or some other glitch).
Sometimes, syncing one more song can clear up the extra other. If not, you'll need to restore your iPod. Here are the instructions: Restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

2nd Gen Time Capsule - will not power up - just stopped working all of a sudden - I have tried other power outlets - I have tried pressing the reset button - no light
The power supply is shot. But that it lasted even this long is the wonder.. not that it died.
The TC runs too hot..
Look on ebay for "Time Capsule power supply"
You can get a replacement and fix it although the economics are not so good.. it is probably time for a new TC.
If you can DIY it is really only a few dollars worth of capacitors that go bad.

Thanks for the zip code FlashmanB. I totally understand your concern, I've been there myself, but working together will help get to the bottom of this. What happens when you use cellular data only? Does this happen only indoors, specificly in your home? How do other phones on your account function?
Furthermore, please clarify what the specific problems with service are in this case? You mentioned one bar of signal, how is that impacting calls, text or data?
