All of my music was on a hard drive that failed. How do I download them from iTunes match to my new hard drive?
All of my music was on a hard drive that failed. How do I download them from iTunes match to my new hard drive? I know how to do it one song at a time, but I want to know if there is a way to do it for all 10,000 song files at once?
There are some recovery programs out there if you google them - many with free trials. I haven't tried them so I have no opinion.Read any professional tech and user reviews you can find before you try one. I have read here in the past that some have worked for people who have posted here.
To help in the future, have you considered using Jump Desktop - Remote Desktop? I know it won't solve the problem you're dealing with now (unless notes were taken on your computer.) It's in the app store. It's the #1 paid app in the business category and the reviews are great. It allows you to see anything that's on your computer on your ipad. If you take your notes on your ipad then you might want to email them to yourself, put them on Word in your computer, for example, and then if you need them in class, you remotely connect your ipad to your computer and you will see your notes. This way you won't have to rely so much on the cloud. The explanation would be too long here, but you might want to take a look at it. You can use the free trial on jumpdesk.com and then if it works for you, buy it in the app store.
Meanwhile, it's hours since you sent this post. Hopefully others who can help solve your problem who are on this forum now can help you. I hope you get your notes back. Don't give up too quickly.
Hope this helps.

My hard disc has failed how can I download data from my ipod to a new hard disc?
my hard disc has failed how do i transfer the data on my Ipod/Ipad to a new hard disc?
In addition to the comments above, when you create a new library with the media that you recover this will be treated as "new" for the device and iTunes may want to wipe it and start over, losing any personal data and settings. The following approach ought to help.
You should be able to:
Backup the device to your iTunes installation
Transfer your purchases into a library authorized to your account
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer (same as above)
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

I just purchased a new Mac and I want it to be the only computer associated with my iTunes Match. I want it to be able to have access to all my playlists so that my iPhone can be sync'd via the new computer. How do I do all this? Thanks!
Thanks so much for your help. I took the time to go through all the songs saved on my Time Machine backup drive used by the older machine and drag those music files I want to keep. Now I'm using an old hard drive to backup up the entire iTunes folder on the old Mac to be able to keep those files until I'm sure I have all that I want.
Everything is now in iTunes Match and my iPhone seems to have sync'ed successfully. Now I'd like to delete those files stored in iTM from my hard drive and just keep them in the Cloud. Is this a good idea? I'm thinking I can save a lot of hard drive space.
My iPhone does have Match turned on. So I should be able to keep everything sync'd just by using iTunes Match, right?
Thanks so much again for your help! -
I am constantly having issues with my itunes... trying to improve my music organization, and just making it worse. I just got itunes match and i like it so far, but I know that as soon as I am out of wifi/cellular conection, I won't be able to listen to my music. How can I download the music to my device, so I don't have to rely on a wireless connection. (I do lots of traveling.) This is concerning my Mac but more importantly my IPhone 5C.
On the iPhone tap the download button next to a song to download it. Or while viewing an Album or Playlist tap "download all."

I dont want to have to purchase what i have already paid for.
Any assitance would be very much appreciated.Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past TV show purchases did you delete the files but leave the entries in the library? If so delete the broken links in the library, then shut down and restart iTunes. Go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select TV Shows and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your shows there there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

I backed up my itunes folder to my external hard drive.I then replaced my hard drive in my pc & installed windows 7 64 bit on the new hard drive. I reinstalled iTunes & and logged in & all my cloud purchases apperared. All my other music on the external hard drive is my problem. When I just try to open the file it states that I don't currently have permission to access this folder. I have tried to to take possesion of it & change the permissions but it keeps saying access is denied. I tried to drag it in to iTunes but it says I do not have permission. I am pulling my hair here because I have a lot of music that I cannot get to. I am so afraid that I am going to lose it all, I need help!! Please!!!!
I found out that i can play the file with windows media but it still will not play with itunes. It has to be a itunes issue. I purchased an album off itunes & it wont even let me download either

TS4124 itunes match on a new hard drive
i updated my hard drive and did not transfer all my music because im subscribed to itunes match. im able to see the music, but i cant play it or download it. can someone help.
My Library files are still on the C drive as the instructions said to leave them there
While it is implied that I can move ITunes music files off my C drive to make more space
Quote: "If your hard drive is nearly full after loading all your music and other media into iTunes, or if you just want to move all those music and media files to another hard drive on your system, here's a way to make the move while retaining all your playlists, ratings, and play history."
In fact I now see that ITunes Help seems to suggest something different. I got here by pressing the question mark while in the pop up box for "Edit, Preferences, Advanced"
Quote:
"By default, songs and other files you import into iTunes are placed here:
My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
Hide
To change the default location of imported files:
Choose Edit > Preferences, and click Advanced.
Click Change and select a new location for your files.
From now on, new songs and other items you import are stored in the new location. Songs you’ve already imported stay in their current location. (emphasis mine)
To restore the iTunes Media folder as the default storage location, click Reset (in the Advanced pane of iTunes preferences)." -
How to put the backup from time capsule on my new hard drive?
Hi,
I have a new hard drive (1TB) in my MacBook. I want to put my backup wich is stored on a TimeCapsule so I have my computer "restored".
How do I proceed?
Thanks for any help!Hello,
Thanks for the help!
I took all the steps for restoring my Mac with the Time Capsule since my backup is stored in it. I was expecting the magic with the help of the migration assistent program. But everything comes to an halt because the new hdd in my Mac runs Snow Leopard. I can not install Lion on it. I tried it with the App Store (and some tricks) and even the migration assistent tried to install it but then called it an error...!
So for now I am stuck withe the assistent telling me to reinstall Lion and a Time Capsule who want connect to the computer anymore
Thanks for any tips. -
(It's fifteen minutes before class starts)
I tried to back up all of my devices before making the update to 7.0.6.
My iPad was ejected and iTunes told me that it couldn't be updated due to some error (this was yesterday). Then when I plugged it back in, it said I needed to restore my iPad, and I couldn't get to the home screen or anything, it just showed a "Connect to iTunes" icon. So it restored a really early version (with notes from last semester but not from this semester), even though I'm sure I've backed it up at least twice since I got it (1-13-14).
I got onto the Cloud and downloaded some important lecture notes before performing the update just to make sure that they would all be up to date, but those are on my computer, which I am currently not at, so I can't download them. I saw that my iPad was syncing with my Cloud, so my college notes were all showing up, and I didn't stick around to make sure that the current ones showed up (but they're on my cloud, so wouldn't they?).
Also, I use Branchfire's iAnnotate PDF, and all of my highlighted articles for research papers and summaries are gone. I'm missing important articles that had notes for two seminars, and they're all gone. I'm confident I can recover things from the cloud, but iAnnotate doesn't use the cloud. Is there a way to find those again?
What I'm curious about right now is if there's a way to download from the Cloud to my iPad, because that's where my notes are.
Does the cloud sync FROM my iPad? As in, if it isn't on my iPad will it delete documents from my Cloud? Or if it's in the Cloud, will it sync to my iPad if it's absent here?
This is really frustrating, especially because I TRIED to back everything up just to be safe. I tried everything, and I still lost all of my important files. This is beyond frustrating, it's devastating. This is unacceptable. There are some recovery programs out there if you google them - many with free trials. I haven't tried them so I have no opinion.Read any professional tech and user reviews you can find before you try one. How can I tranfer songs from ipod (4GB) to my new hard drive?
My computer crashed and I lost my itunes library. I still have the songs on my ipod. How can I put them back on new hard drive?
Hello Joe,
Yes you can. There are 2 different routes you can take.
(1) Use the manual method outlined in this article
http://www.metaphoriclabs.com/articles/5-ways-to-copy-music-off-your-ipod-window s-mac-os-x/
(2) Search for a 3rd party software to help do the job for you. Here is a list of possibilities put together by another forum member Zevoneer.

How do I retrieve photos from adobe storage to my new hard drive?
My hard drive crashed and I lost all my data and pics. The pics are stored in a 20gig file on the adobe cloud. The software does not show me how to bring those pics back to my new hard drive. Anyone got a solution?

Thanks John...went there and nothing in the cloud. I have 20 gigs of photos stored with Adobe but that didn't access them.
Where exactly did you upload the photos to and how?

I download apps from my mac and then sync my devices to transfer the apps to the devices, but i was wondering if the apps in iTunes will actually take the same space of my Hard Drive than the space it says it will take in the device.
If the apps are on your computer, then they take up space on your computer.

I synced my I tunes to Match a few weeks ago, and I then deleted the music from my hard drive. I just bought an ipod classic 160g and I cant get it to sync from my library now, even though all the songs and playlists showup on my computer sitll (and play) from match. I have the hardrive space to download the 150gigs of songs, but I'm not sure if thats whats need, or even how to get everyting back on my computer now so that I can sync it.
Help Please! The actual files must be on the computer HDD to be synced to an iPod Classic. Syncing of that model of iPod will not work if the files are not there.
If you are going to re-add the files back to your library the best way to do it is to restore from the backup you made before you deleted all the song files. -

How do I download videos from iPhone 4s to my iMac hard drive?
Great lens on 4s but this is my first iPhone, and when I plug it in to iMac it does not recognize it as a separate device, which is what happens when I connect a camera. So how do I get video/photos downloaded so i can edit in imovie etc ... and also (reverse question) how do I upload address book to the iPhone. ITunes recognizes device and I can transfer music/podcasts to phone .... iPhone btw is IOS 5.0.1 if that matters.
All advice greatly appreciated.Never mind ... just opened up iPhoto and they were already sitting there, waiting to be downloaded.... so simple I didn't know.....
