Allow attachments in a PM

It sure would be nice to attach a file in a private message.
Is this prevented because of copywrite and content concerns?

  • Safari will not allow attachments to be sent in webmail

Recently, (since upgrading to 10.4.4, I believe - but am not positive) I have found that Safari will not allow me to send mail with attachments during any form of webmail. . .either Mail in .Mac, Yahoo, or my workplace's Microsoft Exchange mail. When I attempt to attach a file, I get the following message from Safari (as an example; this is for Yahoo):
Safari can’t open the page “http://attach.mud.mail.yahoo.com/us.f352.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Attachments?YY=54979”. The error was: “POSIX error: Invalid argument” (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:22) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
Firefox and Camino can send attachments with no trouble. Any fixes for Safari for this problem?

The first thing I would try is to clear Safari's cache (Safari > Empty Cache).

  • How to allow attachments on forms saved with Reader Extensions?

I have a Livecycle developed form that includes action builder buttons to attach other documents.  When I re-save the form with 'Reader Extensions', the attach buttons no longer work.  Is there a way to allow this functionality?  How?
    Thanks.

Of course. This facility is only available with Reader extension server.  You need to apply reader Extension permissions for the form and specifically , you need to add Embedded File Attachments reader extension.

  • Firefox 35.0.1 still cannot allow attachments in Yahoo mail when IE 11 can allow it

  • I have an iPhone 4s.  I can text another android phone but I cannot attach a picture without using data.  Wifi will not allow attachments

I have an iphone 4s with ios 7.  imessage between iphones works fine.  When I try to message an android phone with an attachment (picture) it wont deliver and the party cannot send a picture to me.  Thw only way it will work with android is if I turn data on.  A simple message will work with Wifi, with no attachments
This does not seem right.  You should be able to send attachments to android party on Wifi???

MMS requires cellular data. Sending pictures through iMessage can be done either using cellular data or WiFi. You're phone is working as designed.

  • Mail will not allow attachments

I can't get Mail 3.6 to accept attachments. I've tried dragging and selecting them and it won't go into the body of the message

You could have a corrupted Mail preferences file. To find out and fix it, do this:
First, unless you have your account setup information memorized, go to Preferences > Accounts and write it all down; then close the Preferences window and quit Mail.
If you have any or all IMAP email accounts, go to Home/Library/Mail and remove the account folders for the IMAP accounts only. Don't remove anything else.
Restart Mail, setup your account(s) again and wait for mail to either find your existing messages, or in the case of IMAP accounts, download them again. Then reset your preferences again the way you want them to be.
Test to see if the problem continues.

  • How can i have mail attachments from dropbox

I am using my ipad in my business, and have all my company's file archive on dropbox. I mostly send mails from a webbased crm, and also frim the mail-app in my ipad. But in any situation i only can have mail attachment from myy pictures! How do i set up my ipad so i can pick my attatchments from other places??
The link sending service from inside dropbox is not good enough for me.

    Hi Oawinje,
I use the Office2HD app to attach my Dropbox files to email rather than sending a Dropbox link.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/office2-hd/id364361728?mt=8
You can link Office2HD to your Dropbox account. Then within Office2HD you navigate to your file. Click on the ">" button next to your file listing and select "Email File." This attaches the file (not a link) to a new email message. I haven't found a way to attach multiple files though…
I don't think you are not going to find the attachment option available within the iOS Mail app due to "sandboxing." IOS apps are all "sandboxed" to prohibit access to their data from other apps. Apple would have to build Dropbox into iOS and have the iOS Mail app tightly integrated with it to allow attachments like you're used to on an OS X computer (the file structure in iOS is very different from OS X). The attachments in iOS Mail must occur from the third party app (like Office2HD) rather than from Mail. I'm not sure why the Dropbox app doesn't offer the option to attach a file like Office2HD does…
    Hope this helps!

If your mail service allows all of that to be sent as attachments or however you are attempting that then it's possible the email server or servers receiving the email do not allow attachments that large.
You say you are sending "a combination of MS Word and pdf files and attachments". I've never sent anything like that. I have zipped various files into a zip file then attached that to an email for sending.
Googles mail appears to allow a total of 25 megabytes of attachments in a single email.
Yahoo mail appears to allow a total of 25 megabytes also.
Microsofts mail appears to allow a total of 20 megabytes of attachments in a single email.
Another option would be to upload everything to your onedrives public folder and provide a link for others to download all of it in the email you send out.
A single users onedrive supposedly can have up to 10 gigabytes loaded onto it. I suppose all of that could be used by the public folder but maybe not.

  • Can't add attachments in new messages in Mail 2.1.3

I am trying to help someone with a problem they are having with Mail.
No matter what method they use it will not allow attachments to be added to new messages. This is on an Aluminium Intel iMac running OS 10.4.11 and Mail 2.1.3
We have tried the following (not necessarily in this order):
    - reset the PRAM
    - removed the mail plist file and reconfigured mail
    - safe boot
    - Permission repair
It can send and receive without problem. It has one other problem where it can no longer open saved drafts. If you double click on them they do nothing, double click again and it opens a new message window missing many of the defaults like the ability to choose from which account it is to be sent. We tried rebuilding the Draft mailbox but that did not help.
We configured the account on a laptop and all worked fine.
The next course of action will be to use Mac Help Mate to clean caches etc. and then re-instal the 10.4.11 Combo Update.
Has anyone experienced something like this? If so what was the fix? Any ideas or suggestions would be most appreciated.

    Restart your mac:
Safe Boot: Hold down the shift key after the chime until the Apple logo appears and the gear is moving.
It will take awhile but you will be asked to login.
Go to your Applications folder> Utilities and launch Disk Utility.
In the left side column, highlight your drive and repair permissions.( button down below)
    Empty the trash.
    Restart your mac.
    From BDAqua:
Quit Mail, then In your home folder, try moving this folder & file to the Desktop then reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail
    Move to the Desktop...

  • Adding attachments to an email

Does anyone know of any application or when Apple will allow attachments to be added to emails? I am starting to enjoy my iPhone but in order to use it for business I have to be able to attach documents to emails. Right now, as I know, we can only add 1 (One) picture to an email and to do that you must start from the picture roll not from the email itself. Any help0 here is appreciated.

When you are on the go as a business user, forwarding an email does not do the trick. Imagine you are at an Airport about to get on a 20hr flight and you get an email from one of your clients asking for the technical Specs of one of the products your company produces. You may have that document right there in your phone (there are apps that allow you to transfer docs into the iPhone using WebDav) but you will not be able to reply to your customer with the document, your only option would be opening your laptop, if you still have time before your flight and send it, or call your assistant and ask him/her to do the task for you totally defeating the idea of mobility for business.
    Soes this make sense?

  • YaBB forum attachments not working

Now on Firefox 28. This problem started about three months ago (not sure what FF version then).
I have a YaBB forum which is used to post documents as attachments in forum entries. MS Word .doc documents work OK in FIrefox- that is when you click on a .doc attachment, you get a dialog box asking if you want to download the document. But with a .docx file (Word 2007), the ascii contents of the document are displayed on the screen, with no option to do anything with the attachment.
The forum admin settings have both .doc and .docx as allowed attachments. In IE clicking the .docx attachment, gives the correct dialog box to download the document. In Opera, clicking the .docx, gives a dialog box which asks if I want to use MS Word to open the .docx attachment.
Seems to be an FF issue with .docx which is a PK-zipped package. .doc is not a zipped package, but contains MS proprietary document format.
    Pete

If you would like to do a bit more troubleshooting first, please try this two part test:
    '''Create a new Firefox profile'''
A new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder. This test is answer the question "what if" you reset to factory defaults — without actually affecting your current settings.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
    firefox.exe -P
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, choose a test name, and skip the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
Do those downloads work any better in the new profile?
    '''Test in Firefox's Safe Mode'''
This will help rule out your system-level extensions as the potential culprit. Firefox's Safe Mode is a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still run)''
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
    Any difference?
When returning to the Profile Manager to start up in your normal profile, you might be tempted to use the Delete Profile button. But... it's a bit too easy to accidentally delete your "real" profile, so I recommend resisting the temptation. If you do want to clean up later, I suggest making a backup of all your profiles first in case something were to go wrong.

  • Picking up attachments outside UK

Just spent two days trying to pick up my eTicket from Brittany Ferries that I had to change return dates on, only to find that suddenly BT have decided to block non UK IP addresses.
I could read and send emails fine, but try to attach a file or download a file and it does not work. The person I was staying with had an IP cloaking prog on their PC and running that allowed attachments to be downloaded from my btopenworld account no probs.
    So much for OPENWORLD!

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
Can you give more details why you think BT are blocking non UK IP addesses ? Which Country were you in, and what sort of error messages were you getting ?
May I assume you were using webmail via a browser, if so which browser and was this via the friend's machine or your own ?

  • Attachments get duplicated across Task Assigments

    Hi There,
I am seeing some strange behaviour in Workspace.
I have a process with a series of Assign Tasks  which allow attachments.
In the First in workspace, I attach one item.
When I Complete the Task, the next Task Assignment in Workspace shows the attachment twice
When I Complete that Task, the next Task assignment in Workspace shows the attachment four times...
    And so on ...
I am using a List variable in the attachment Input list, and output list at each Task Assign step.  When I record and playback the process, I see that it is growing exponentially.
I am using LC ES2 SP2......  Is this a bug??  Does anybody else see this?
    Thanks

    Hi
This is a known issue and has a workaround.
Where you access your "list of document" variable via XPath, append [1] to the end of the expression.
    Example:
In Workbench, navigate to the Attachments tab of the User service.
In the Output Attachments section, make sure that the dropdown is set to XPath expression not variable.
Select your variable of type list of document (mine is myAttachments) and append [1] to it.
It should now appear as /process_data/myAttachments[1].
Make sure you use this same notation on each User service step.

  • Hotmail attachments will no longer work in Firefox

I use Firefox exclusively. For the last week my hotmail account hasn't been allowing attachments to outgoing mail. In the Windows Live forum I've learned that I'm not alone. The problem also occurs with Internet Explorer even though I never use it.
Interestingly, I just opened hotmail with Chrome... and the attaching function worked. I'd hate to stop using Firefox though. Can anyone help me?

Now,I knot how to fix it.
go to your firefox option settings, add ons, choose plug in,
    disable "silverlight plug in", ok!

  • Hotmail not allowing me to attach a document to an email, is this a hotmail issue, or a firefox, or virus protection setting problem

I try and attach anything, photo, pdf, Word doc, etc. and it will not attach. Therefore I cannot send anything other than a typed email -- those go fine. Just cannot attach anything to it. Maybe it's a security setting, I've checked most everything might say something like "do not allow attachments" etc. but haven't found anything to "uncheck".

What code are you using for those videos?
Are there any errors present in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer)?

Did you make sure that Adblock Plus and NoScript aren't blocking content?
Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?
