Almost everything I do whether send an email or load a webpage it takes a very long time since I updated the latest version of Firefox; what can I do?
I updated to Firefox 14.0.1; my Operating System is Windows Vista on my Compaq Presario C700. I have taken it to the computer repair shop and they said they found a Trojan and removed it. It was still operating VERY slowly, so I took it back in. They said they could not find anything more. I removed MANY of my desktop icons and eliminated some of the programs from my start up menu. It is still taking up to 5 minutes to load some pages even just send an email!
Hi,
Please try the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems Reset Firefox] feature via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information'''.
(To revert to the previous profile you were using, close the new profile (i.e. exit Firefox), start Firefox and choose the '''Default User''' profile. While the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles Profile Manager] is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers), or the former profile, as the case may be). If the reset is okay, it would be a good idea to delete the old profile as otherwise it would be left intact with the previous data until deleted.

If the issue is due to Windows malware, posting in a dedicated security forum would also be helpful:

To send photos I need the 'attach files more easily' facility in my Yahoo email. After I recently upgraded my broadband so that I now get 37mb speed, Firefox (and Internet Explorer) started to 'not respond' so I un-installed it then re-installed it. I got the latest version of Firefox and now I can't get the facility back again. Have you got any suggestions? Yahoo have not been able to help.
I could only find this link, hoping it will work:
Network.ftp.idleConnectionTimeout

Check and tell if its working. -
After upgrading to iOS 5, my iPhone 4 takes a very long time to open digitally signed emails. I've tried with the SMIME settings enabled, but that doesn't help either. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks in advance.
I suspect you may have a corrupt photo or image that is causing the sync to fail or quit. You might want to try removing all of your photos by deselecting them in iTunes then sync - and try adding them by each sub-folders until you are able to nail down which sub-folder of photos, that causes the sync to stop or gives you errors.

Since installing Firefox 9.0.1 LAST night on my iMac, which is running OSX v. 10.5.8, Firefox is now crashing every few minutes. It usually happens as I go from one website to another -- when I click on a bookmarked website from my bookmarks, Firefox crashes just as the next website is coming up. I have NEVER had this problem with Firefox before. I need to uninstall and revert to the previous version of Firefox, but OSX doesn't have an easy "revert to previous configuration" routine. Or... please send out a fix for 9.0.1 (assuming others are having the same problem) right away.
Thank you mha007. Actually, Verdi had solved the problem about 10 days ago. It was another Plug-in, Showcase, that was incompatible with the newest Firefox, so he told me to disable it, and that worked instantly. The other day, though, Firefox again started constantly crashing. This time I looked and found -- as you suggest -- another outdated plugin, in this case Silverlight. Don't know why it took ten days to start causing a problem, but as soon as I disabled it, everything was back to normal. I have NEVER had such problems with any new versions of Firefox, and I've been using it for ages, so this was pretty disconcerting to see how problematic the new version was.

I updated to the newest version of Firefox and now cannot select, read, delete, move any emails. Also cannot access any of the folders where many of my emails are stored. I have no problem with my email in Internet Explorer, all of the features work fine through IE.

Apple Mail takes a very long time to send messages.
A few weeks ago, Apple Mail started to act up.
Even small email messages without images now take 30 seconds to send.
They sit forever in the outbox.
What can be the reason of this?Window menu -> Activity menuitem will give you all the background processes of Mail, and should give you an idea what is hanging its processes.
Mail can especially get tied up if Spotlight or Time Machine are trying to redo their indices. -
Last night, I upgraded to the news Thunderbird version 31. When I try to send a signed message, I get the error written in the subject line and my message arrives without the electronic signature.
Can you assist me with this problem that I did not have before upgrading?
Thank you
CeciliaHa! You hit the jackpot! I do have Enigmail 1.6. Will download 1.7 and the latest of Thunderbird again.
Thank you for your support.

I'm trying to send videos via text and email with my LG G2 and it keeps saying attachment size is exceeding its limit but the video is only 10 seconds long! That's a little ridiculous! How do i fix it or change it so that it will send?!
Send from within the messaging app. Don't record then send from share option inside gallery. Videos are recorded at HD most likely. But inside the stock messaging app quality is reduced to shrink file size. You can also record from camera at a lower resolution in settings then send from gallery share option.

Not sure what details are needed.
Go to '''Help '''| '''Check For Updates''' and upgrade to ''Firefox 4.0'' which is 6x times faster than the version you have installed.

I get a general failure when I click on links in my email. "General Failure" is followed by a link and I have to click ok to get rid of it. This happens every time I click on a link in my email. I've turned my computer on and off several times, but it persists. It's very annoying and I'm considering returning to Internet Explorer because of it.
This is a known bug, and has been for years. It occurs when Firefox is your default browser and some glitch (or program) changes that default. Thankfully, there's a fairly easy fix, though it does involve monkeying around in the Registry.
(Note: These instructions apply to Windows Vista and 7 only.)
1. Click Start, type regedit, and then press Enter.
2. Navigate to the following entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL\shell\open\ddeexec
3. In the center pane, double-click the Default entry, then remove whatever value is there (it'll probably be a weird string of numbers and commas).
4. Click OK, then exit Regedit.
5. If Outlook and/or Firefox are open, close them, then restart them.

@sjpierce - I don't believe that this is a Firefox-specific issue, but it does sound like you have some sort of malware on your machine. What was this innocuous link that you clicked on? A lot of viruses and malware make their rounds on Facebook.
Regardless, what I would do is this ( I assume you're running Windows):
* Download the Free and awesome Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) via [http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/]
* Next update MSE and do a full system scan to ensure you don't have any existing malware on your machine. If so, clean it off and reboot. Keep doing this until you come up clean.
* Refer to this article on SUMO [[Profiles|Profiles]]
* Delete your old Firefox profile, create a new one and launch Firefox 4 again using the new profile
You should be back to normal at this point.
If you are running an OS like Mac OS X or Linux, it's unlikely that you have malware and you should probably clean your Firefox profile and start over again. -
This is what it shows when I click on any link:
