Always prints 2 pages

yet another challange. Everytime I print in pages it will spit out a second blank page. It says "page 1 of 1" but it always, when done with the print, kick out another sheet of blank paper. weird

hi there. I got exactly the same Problem with my HP5000 laser. I checked all the software settings (ie correct paper size), checked cups for endpapers, ereased the printer que - no luck.
Now I got another idea now. My printer is connected via a router, i heard that at times the driver and this network set up causes problems. I am going to check my router, often routers have the option of inserting another sheet to seperate print jobs from different users.
I just posted this to give you a few ideas, and I keep you posted if my router was the issue. Is your printer directly connected?

Honestly I was hoping it happened in other browsers too. That would be a software issue.
With a software issue I would have ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
You could always run it anyways, it would not hurt.
Since it is only an issue with printing from IE, it may be a settings issue.

PSC 1510 always prints test page on startup; settings menu no help

Hi,
My HP PSC 1510 All-in-one printer always prints a test page when I start it up, wasting ink and paper. I tried two things, neither of which solved the problem:
- Checking the settings, services, and every other menu I could find for any related options. Some other random help forums said there was a "print test page on startup" option somewhere, but I found nothing of that nature.
- Aligning the printer, as instructed by the test page it keeps printing out. Its first alignment failed, but the second alignment seemed to work. However, it still printed a test page the next time I started it up.
Extra information: I'm on Windows XP, and HP Software Update tells me there are no newer updates available. Also, this printer was sitting in the closet for a couple years--I only just recently hooked it up and gave it a new ink cartridge (so I can't say how it behaved before I gave it a new cartridge since it was on the shelf with no ink for a long time).

Pages always prints envelopes upside down

When using Pages to print envelopes, my HP laserjet always prints the envelope upside down. Apple and HP indicate I shoudl feed the envelopes with the top to the right. This works properly with everyother piece of software I have used
I know, when I use Pages I could just change the orientation of the envelope in the envelope feed slot, or check "reverse page orientation" in the Print dialog (so the envelope is upside down in the print preview.) But I'd prefer not to have to remember random procedures to accomodate software malfunctions. Is there some preference I can set in Pages (or something) to fix this so it works correctly?
PS.I hate to post this as a question, but the Apple Support Communities (SW platform, not the people ) has sort of forces this.
Why in the world does it present "Ask a question" as the main option. Initially I skipped that, but the community search funcion really *****. Searching is incredibly non-intuitive and poorly targeted (If I'm in the pages section why is it giving me totally unrelated results from unrelated sections?
Get on the ball Apple. You broke the "Support Communities" website and the OS X built in "Help Center" years ago, and still haven''t fixed them.
Thank God for all the helpful Mac users out there, because Apple's help and support efforts (Help platforms, manuals, etc.) seem to have fallen by the wayside.

No help on your actual question, but some comments on the search function here.
Search offers the choice of limiting the searsch to a specific community/forum when the first results are presented. You can also limit the search to a specific user.
The basic search is a keyword search, and turns up any post that has that keyword in it (with some weighting added by then software). Searches search for "Any" of the terms included in the query unless you limit the results using commands such as AND or NEAR. Not all that intuitive, I'll agree.
One other feature of the ASC site is the 'related' topics list, "More Like This," that appears after you've submitted a query. You'll find the list to the right of the message(s) in the community. A click opn the (green) checked items will often provide a solution to your(well described) issue.
None marked 'solved' on the list at this time, but some worth exploring for hints or a solution.

Cheque printing form always prints an extra page...

I have a custom form the cheque printing program RFFOUS_C. Now, my problem is that it
always prints an extra page even though the MAIN page doesnt have any line items. So instead of
expecting only 1 page it always shows 2 pages. And the worst thing here is that they I cannot customize
the standard program since it is the client's rule.
Any of you have encountered this problem before?

in your Form there is only One Page created?
just check if there exists any other page and in the Standard attributes of the page in "Next Page", the other page is set.
Ideally there should not be any page as the Next Page.

PDFs are always printed 2 pages per sheet

My system was reformatted recently and everything had to be reinstalled.
Acrobat Reader XI (11.0.2) and Acrobat Pro 9 (9.0.0*) are now having problems when printing PDFs: every PDF is always printed at 2 pages per sheet. The resulting 4-point type printouts are not useable.
Word prints 1 page per sheet.
I'm not exactly sure where to even start troubleshooting this. Any suggestions would be welcome.

*Yes, 9.0.0. When I accepted the last automatic update, Acrobat Pro started crashing on startup. I uninstalled and reinstalled, and am very, very wary about accepting an update right now.

Well, that was interesting.
After running the Acrobat Cleaner from the above link, on both Acrobat Pro 9.0 and Reader 11.0.2, it looked like everything was gone.
However, the company uses CA's IT Client Manager, and its DSM Software Delivery Catalog thinks that Acrobat Pro is still installed. So does Add/Remove Programs.
Six system reboots and A long call with the help desk later, my case has been escalated to the CA team and we'll see what happens now.
Reader 11.0.2 is reinstalled, and now? It can't print AT ALL. I get this instead of a printout:

Lexmark T630 network printer - always prints 2 pages per sheet

I'm trying to setup a Lexmark T630 for printing under Leopard 10.5.2. The printer prints just fine, but it always prints documents as half a sheet, thus, printing 1 a document with 1 page results in a sheet that has the page printed on one half and the other half is blank (as landscape). 2 pages will result in a landscape that has both pages on one sheet, next to each other.
Layout -> Pages per sheet is set to '1' .
I've tried setup with AppSocket,IPP or LPD , using the Lexmark provided driver (both from Apple and from lexmark.com) and a generic postscript driver.
I've tried various paper sizes (the paper is A4) , I've tried printing in landscape and portrait, scaling the pages to 50% or 200% and anything else I could think of.
Event the 'print test page' from http://localhost:631 (the CUPS web service) results in half a page, landscape, with the test page on the left side as a portrait.
Any Ideas..?

Did you try throwing away the com.apple.printing files in your <home>/Library/Preferences folder? It sounds like a preferences file, but you could also try resetting the print system by holding down the control key while clicking in the list of printers in Print and Fax Prefs.

In the Print dialog box you should be able to indicate which page you want to print and that page will print. For instance, if you are viewing page 4, in the Print dialog, select "current page" and page 4 prints. This won't work if your page is actually a 2-page spread. What size is the booklet?

Force PageFooter Section to Always Print on New Page

I think it is not possible to use the option for page footer as new page after or new page before as these options are greyed out. Do you have a seperate data to show in page footer? and do you want to repeat it for all pages? If it is a static data then you can directly place them in page footer. Could you please explain me in brief what exactly the output you are looking for?havendra

When I eprint a picture from my blackberry, it always prints two pages.

I have the hp photosmart 5512. When I eprint a photo from my blackberry, a second page always prints, stating that it was sent via at&t blackberry. I would love to avoid wasting a sheet of photo paper for each picture printed. Is there a setting where I can fix this? Is it something on my phone?

Print page always shows "pages [ 1 ] to [ 1 ]"

I updated Firefox to v4.0 and all my devices encounter the same problem: If I enter the "print" menu, there edit boxes always say "pages [ 1 ] to [ 1 ]" (don't know the correct english translation, but I guess you know what I refer to).
Why doesn't Firefox show how many the print would contain? I regard this as very useful and would be happy if this was changed someday.

That has nothing to do with a Firefox update. That is the way it works with web browsers with one web page - 1 of 1 - ''(unless the web page is coded with page breaks for printing - and few do that)'' the web browser itself formats the web page to print to multiple sheets of paper. You need to view the "print preview" to see how many sheets of paper the web page will be printed to, or to select which "pages" will be printed.
Use File > Print Preview to see how many sheets of paper the webpage will be printed to, and to view how they will will "break".

When printing page data in Schwab, the font is so tiny it's almost invisible - this does not happen in Windows Exploror.

On 2/20/2013 all printing was normal. On 2/21/2013 not only did the printing not work, but PDF files did not show up properly. Is this a new version of Firefox? I got the PDF reset so that works now, but not the printing. In Comcast email, the date field shifts way to the right and forces the font smaller. When I uncheck "shrink to fit" it does not wrap the text but rather chops it off when I increase the font size.
Today I tried printing pages from Schwab using their "Print Page" button which always worked in the past but today it was unreadable.
Can I go back to the previous version of Firefox?

CR of VS 2005 always prints as image; need EMF etc

After Crystal Reports XI, we had the problem that our printing software got more and more bugs and we where informed that old versions where no longer supported, so we should rewrite our software with one of the new interfaces. We choosed the .NET one.
However, our new printing frame now seems to always print using an image, i.e. the output file to the printer is just a bitmap. Even the output to Postscript printers is just that, an embedded image. While this is often no issue, some of our clients use printing to virtual printers, such as fax software, or archivation software etc. They therefore parse the output file for various informations not available if its just an image.
Printing from CR XI itself, and from our old software still based on the C interface (crpe32.dll) works fine. So clearly CR is able to produce more intelligent output formats. What can be done to enforce using them ?

The native format of our reports are proprietary so we can't give you the info on how to decode it. And yes you are correct, an EPF Object is generated for each page and the output is basically a "picture" of the page to be printed.
Your only work around is to export the report to Excel or CSV which are text formats. The end users can then alter how they are getting the info from those file types and use the data as their needs require.
No option to use the viewer that was built into crpe32 any more, it's not supported as a report engine nor are you licensed to use it directly in an application.
If you can discribe what they were doing someone may have suggestions on which formats would be best.

I'm new to mac and having a bit of a time trying to understand how many print interfaces there are. Loving things so far but I need to take a minute to figure some things out.
1. Is there a way to set my HP Printer to always print the name of the file at the bottom or otherwise set these kinds of options as pre-settings so I can pull down to them when I want various configs/
2. Is there a way to get the pdf printer in Preview to default to printing to all pages? I seem to frequently print one page and I have to go through a bunch of clickthrough operations to get all the pages to print to one pdf.

This is usually a feature of the application you are printing from and appears in the applications PDE, usually the default panel shown when the the Print Dialog is brought up.

What printer are you using? And are you using the PDF menu at the bottom left of the print dialog?

Hp 6110 all-in-one always prints in color on Windows 8

I would like to print some color documents in grayscale. But I am finding that no matter what settings I use in the Print dialog panel, my documents always come out in color. I am in Windows 8.1. For example, in Microsoft Word, if you go to File->Print, the Settings list contains options for which pages to print, one-sided or two-sided, collated, etc., but there is nothing for color vs. grayscale. So, if you then click a "Printer Properties" link, you get the detailed 6110 dialog panel with multiple tabs containing the full range of printer options. Within that, if you select the "Color" tab, you can check the "Print in Grayscale" box. Click "OK" to close the detailed printer dialog, which brings you back to the Microsoft Word printer dialog, where you can then click "Print". Document still comes out in color. I have verified a similar behavior when priting color PDF documents - there is no way to make them come out in grayscale.
I suspect the driver is also not respecting my specification to use "Fast Nornal" print quality.
So, a very clever strategy for HP to sell more ink! Can you please provide a fix?

I understand that your HP Officejet 6110 all-in-one always prints in color on Windows 8. I am happy to look into this for you!
According to your printer's specifications found at this website, Printer Specifications for HP Officejet 6100 Printer Series. This printer is only supported for these Operating Systems: Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Microsoft(R), Windows XP.
There is no full feature software and drivers for Windows 8.1 for this printer.
One option to try and get around this, is to assign an alternate driver, please see this post, How to Assign Alternate Print Drivers in Different Versions of Windows, by @Shane_R.
Otherwise, I would recommend to please call our phone support at 800-474-6836 for your upgrade options to a printer that has the software and drivers available for Windows 8.1.
