We've an article that provides the following troubleshooting steps that may help stabilize your iPhone.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

I found the reason why our iPads are slow after iOS 5!!!!!!!
What you need to do is this:
1) launch settings, go to mail contacts and calendars, go to fetch new data, advanced, and set iCloud to fetch.
2) go back and set an interval of when to fetch. Mine is set for thirty minutes.
3) make sure on top push is still on, that means that all your emails will still be pushed, but all the iCloud sync (contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks) will happen at the interval you choose.
Restart the device. Your performance should be 10x faster! No more keyboard lag, nothing! Doing this puts less stress on the A4 chip, which we know we need every bit we can get with it now!!!
Optional:
1) in the settings, go to safari.
2) clear all history and cookies/data
3) enable private browsing. One of the biggest reasons why devices are slow is because it keeps all the history and cookies in the RAM. You need more RAM to make things faster. By turning on private browsing, it never records it! -

You don't. Take it back to them and ask them to unlock it. If they refuse, or if they have now vanished off the face of the earth, you own a brick. There is no way past the activation lock without the proper credentials.

After updating to iOS 8.3 on my 5s, my phone no longer will connect via USB to my GMC Terrain.
Bluetooth connections still work and was able to connect via USB with an iPhone 6, bit the 5s will only play the first 5 seconds of a song after it is connected, then the song stops and no matter what is done, even restarting the car, it will not reconnect, I only receive an error saying that it is connecting the USB. Is there a fix for this?
Confirmed solution from Apple:
You need to do a full OS restore through iTunes on your phone. You can then restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup to be back in business. It *****, but that's the only solution right now. -
Logic Remote connectivity issues after updating to iOS 8 (solved!)
Has anyone else has been experiencing connectivity issues with Logic Remote after updating to iOS 8?
After updating to iOS 8 I could no longer connect so I sent a feedback report to Apple and got a response that cleared up my problem immediately:
Navigate to the following directory on your desktop system running GarageBand:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
You can quickly navigate there using the “Go” menu in Finder -> Go To Folder (shift-command-G), then copy this path:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
In the Preferences folder should be a file named "com.apple.garageband10.cs”.
Make sure GarageBand is not running and delete the "com.apple.garageband10.cs” file.
Relaunch GarageBand and see if you should now be able to connect.
The same can be done for Logic by navigating to:
~/Library/Preferences/
And deleting "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" and restarting Logic.
Note that doing this will fix Logic Remote connectivity issues (and possibly other problems with latency and mixer functionality) but will also delete any other Controller settings that you've configured with Logic, if you happen to be using another controller of some sort.Thanks very much! I am having the same issues--just got off phone with customer service rep--was told that my phone is in recoveyr mode and that I would have to restore it, however, the only things that would be restored would be from my last backup which was in November 2013! I was also told that apple users should not update as soon as the update is available (so why are they sending it to us if they're not sure that there will be any problems!!!). I can't restore now since I am in work--will do it when I go home tonight. In the meantime, I am without a working iphone for the day! This is horrible--I see I'm not the only one who has experienced this!

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting.
If this did not work, and to rule out a software issue, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

If still no luck, this might be a hardware problem and the phone has to be checked by an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple:

In addition to my last post, here is the solution for fixing this problem without syncing your contacts with icloud.
It takes about 2 minutes and permanently solves the problem so you can start adding and editing your contacts again on IOS 5.1.1!
Basically you just need to follow these steps from the Settings page:
Enable Airplane Mode
Go to iCloud settings
Turn on Contacts
Agree to 'Merge Contact'
Wait for pop up to confim iCloud contacts are on
Turn off Contacts
Confirm that you want to Keep your Contact on the iPhone
Wait for pop up to confim iCloud contacts are off
Disable Airplane Mode
Airplane Mode temporarily blocks all phone signal/data to stop your contacts merging with icloud.

Im an owner of an Iphone 3gs.
When I updated my software to IOS 6.1.3 I started having network issues such as my phone would go on searching, it would search for signal and then No service after few minutes it would restart and when its on again it would show me Connect To Itunes screen, I tried connecting but nothing happens and if I just leave it as it is it will just keep on restarting and showing the same screen sometimes I might get lucky and the phone will start working again but No Service and if I turn on my 3G for the times Im outdoors it will just restart again so 3G is also another problem I have got. Today I decided to take it to an Apple Store, the guy restored it and now what happens is that it switches on and is showing me the connect to Itunes message but with black backround and i cant do anything it keeps on restarting and showing the same thing. Please if there is anyone that would like to spend some time with me to help me out, he would be more than Welcome.

The wallpaper used to be sharp, and now it's just soft and zoomed in. No matter what size the wallpaper is.
Also, i tried to turn to turn off the "reduced motion setting' it DID NOT SOLVE the problem.

Second day after updating to iOS 6 on my iPhone 4, my contacts have duplicated. Probably not all but many, and my contacts already numbered in the thousands.
Please tell me there is an easy fix to this problem!! I already had to go through contact-by-contact when I bought this phone and added contacts from my Blackberry and MS Outlook on the phone. Many duplicated at that time and Apple said the only fix was to go through each one and decide to keep or delete. I really don't want to do that again!I had this problem while I had iOS 5.1.1 installed for many months. Fortunately I only have about 150 contacts and only about half of them duplicated. I found that my problem was the way thing were set up in Outlook. I removed all of the duplicates and corrected everything in Outlook contacts (ignoring the address book) and have not had the problem since, Hope this helps.

my iphone 5 has restored to an old backup after updating to ios 7 is there any way of getting my stuff back as this has now become the most recent back up?
also since the update it keeps resetting itself? i had a lot of stuff on there that i really wanted and alot of important info lost? please help!!You might be able to remove the recent backup from the backups folder and the old one should be usable at that point
