Am I able to easily convert a m4v video file purchased from itunes to a AMV file for a MP3 player that is not an ipod?

My wife an I each have iphones and ipods, however, my children have some non apple mp3 players.  I've purchased some tv shows via the itunes store that are in the .m4v video format.  The kids mp3 players only supports AMV video files.  Is there a way to easily convert the videos I purchased into the AMV video format so that I can load them onto the kids mp3 players?

You can do this in iMovie 11.
Drag your DV clip or clips into a new iMovie project.
Then use the Share menu:
SHARE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME
In the dialog box choose Export: Sound to AIFF
You could do the same thing in MPEG Streamclip or Garageband, but using iMovie is the easiest.

  • If I deauthorize my stolen ipad, does that mean whoever stole it won"t be able to use the aps, music etc I purchased from Itunes?

If I deauthorize my stolen ipad, does this mean that whoever stole it won't be able to sue the aps, books, music etc that I purchased from Itunes?

You can't deauthorize an iPad. You deauthorize computers. Deauthorizing your computer will do nothing for the iPad. See the following:

If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • Convert a M4V video into AVI (for free)

Hi. I'd like to convert a M4V video into AVI (for free). Do you have any suggestions ? Thanks

DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING! Here's what you do. Open the AVI file with QuickTime Player. Then go to SAVE AS. Then, name your file and be sure to save it as MOVIE. I did iPhone since I don't think it matters. It will automatically save as an M4V file! Yay!

  • Convert .m4a files (ripped from iTun

I recently got a Zen Touch for christmas and I have a whole lot of music that I imported using iTunes over the past year (somewhere around 900 files). I tried to put them on my new mp3 player and when I tried converting them I got a message saying "Please set destination formats for the tracks." The destination format I had set for the files was wave and I went back and tried other destination formats but I kept getting the same message.
My thought is that I need to either re-rip all of my files (and I don't have half the CDs anymore) or there's a way to convert the m4a's to something usable... any suggestions?

If they are not encrypted m4a tracks then you should be able to convert them to mp3. I use Xilisoft Audio Converter. There's a trial version available that should be fine for what you want. Search on the Web for it.

  • I am unable to redeem iTunes cards from my iPhone 5 or my PC using my account.  I am able to use mmy PC to access and purchase from other's accounts.  I get a temporary unavilable to redeem message or an iTunes unknown 5002 error.

My iPhone 5 and my PC (Windows 7) will not allow me to redeem cards or make purchases.  I get an unknown iTunes error 5002 on the PC and when using the iPhone it goes blank after a code is entered and does not return.  It recovers when the home button is pressed.  The software is up to date and this has been tried by USB and Wi-Fi from different netwroks.  This matter has persisted for more than five days without a resolution from Apple support.  The same PC allows purchases from iTunes from other accounts belonging to others who use the same PC with their IOS devices (iPhone 5, iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle).

    Hello jaybearden,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • My itunes files were deleted. I was able to use an old back up file to restore some but new downloaded purchases from iTunes for the past 5 months weren't in the back up. How do I get those back since I've paid for them one before and use the same account

My itunes files were deleted. I was able to use an old back up file to restore some but new downloaded purchases from iTunes for the past 5 months weren't in the back up. How do I get those back since I've paid for them one before? Can you redownload? If so, how?? Please help as I'm missing over 500 previously paid for and downloaded iTunes song purchases.

This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.
This is a picture of what it looks like now:
    http://tinypic.com/r/107quxu/7
As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".
any way to get around that?

  • HT204370 Why are movies excluded from iCloud?  They are the most expensive purchase from iTunes and just as valuable and important to be able to access anywhere from any device?

They are the most expensive purchase from iTunes and just as valuable and important to be able to access anywhere from any device?  I find it so frustrating that first I had to purchase iWorks for my Mac, then I had to purchase it all over again for my IOS device so I could use iCloud, then I purchase thousands of dollars of movies and am not able to store them in the cloud, yet we have only purchased the rights to the songs no differently than we have the movies.  Why would they exclude movies from icloud?

They are not part of icloud in all countries, becuase the movie industry in those copuntries does not allow Apple to offer this.

  • Not able to purchase from iTunes

I have been trying to purchase from iTunes all week but have gotten the message +"The iTunes store is unable to process purchase at this time. Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. You may continue to browse the store. Please try to make your purchase later."+ Now I also happen to be able to access the iTunes store in the US and had no problem making a purchase. Has anyone been able to contact Apple to find out what the problem is with the Australian store or for that matter is anyone else having the same issue? I sent a message to apple using the support center but have yet to receive a reply. any input would be appreciated

There are times when the computer says its one thing, but its always not what it says. I would say just troubleshoot... Like log out of your account then log back in. Trash the iTunes cache in User Name>Library>Cache. Empty the iTunes cache folder. And delete the iTunes preferences in User Name>Library>Preferences. Delete the file "com.apple.itunes.plist". Hopefully those will solve the problem.

  • HT1451 I used to be able to sync all songs that I downloaded from CDs to my iPad. Now I can only get the songs that were purchased from iTunes.  Can someone tell me why?

I used to be able to sync songs that I imported from CDs into my library onto my iPad and iPad touch. Now I can only sync the purchased from iTunes songs. What has changed?  Do I have to subscribe to iCloud to do this now?

    Hi Cricketdaw,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
iTunes should sync your entire library, and not just songs purchased from the iTunes Store, as mentioned in this article:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
By default, iTunes automatically syncs your entire iTunes library whenever you connect your device to your computer. On each subsequent sync, iTunes will automatically add any new music or videos to the device and remove any items that are no longer in your iTunes Library.

  • I can't download Snapchat on my iPod Touch 4G- it says I need IOS 7 which I can't get. However, I was able to download an older version of the app from iTunes last weekend without any problems. How do I download an earlier version of Snapchat?

Last weekend I was able to download an earlier version of Snapchat from iTunes without any problems.
I now won't let me download Snapchat at all, saying it needs IOS 7.
Why is it doing this and how can I download an earlier version of Snapchat onto my iPod again?
I don't understand why this week it has started saying I need IOS 7, without giving me the option to download an earlier version.
    Many Thanks

    Try:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.
However, sometimes a previous version is not available.

  • TS1362 I purchased an album from itunes and a song in the middle of the album did not download completely. So, the song obviously cannot be transferred to my ipod because the file cannot be converted. What can i do?

I purchased an album from itunes, and a song in the middle did not download completely. All the others did. So, I obviously could not transfer that song to my ipod because the file could not be converted. What can I do?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Converting to MP3 after purchasing from iTunes

I just purchased 8 songs from iTunes to use in a slideshow for my private use. When I try to convert I get a message that "could not be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats." My slide show software "Pinnacle" uses MP3 files. Any way around this problem? Why can't they be converted once they've been purchased?
    HP   Other OS

iTunes purchased songs can't be converted to another format because they are copy protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. The rules of the forum do not allow discussions on getting around the copy protection.
"Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store."

Am I able to download purchased items from ITunes more than once?

Go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the Purchases link under the Quick Links. From there you should be able to re-download some or all of your purchased content. Note that not all content has been licensed for re-downloading in all countries at this time. You can see what content you can download here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085
You can also re-download content using an iOS device.

  • Burning a DVD with m4v music videos purchased from iTunes

Instead of buying Apple TV, I would like to burn a DVD with my collection of music videos purchased on iTunes. Most of them are Protected MPEG-4 video files, having the extension .m4v
My question what I need to do to burn a DVD with these files, without loosing the quality and maintaining the video's aspect ratio? I don't mind to upgrade my iDVD programme to the version of 2008 and QuickTime to the version of Pro, if that will help to resolve my problem. Currently iDVD 6 does not support the protected m4v files, hence I can't burn them into a DVD for watching on TV screen. Your advice is highly appreciated.

This is from the Terms of Service page for iTunes. The bottom line is that you can't burn the videos to DVD.
