Am in the middle of a project i need to finish today re transparent png

Been a few generations since i used iMovie, I have the latest version.
When i drop in a png with a transparency background, it show up when I do PIP in the top right hand side, when I go to crop it and do the 'fit' option the back ground turns BLACK.
I am in one of those situations that I need a fix really soon. I would so appreciate that.

I have one bar across the bottom, the Gradient - White, and I would like to replace the text about 1/2 way though the short video.. I made the original one shorter, but I can not add another one, is this a limitation with iMovie? or with me ?

Deleting bars in the middle of a project

I want to remove a certain number of bars of music in the middle of a project, say bars 12-16, and have the original bars 16+ renumbered. Is that possible? If so, how?
It's an all real instrument project (with a bit of unnecessary space) and I've tried selecting all the following bars and moving them - and that works - but the volume and pan controls don't move with them, they stay where they were.
Also, I have not been able to extract imported audio regions on their own without going through the exporting route. Any simple way of selecting a region and copying or exporting it?

That is the only way, and yes, the Curves do not move with the region, they are, unfortunately linked to the track, not the regions within the track.

Yes, if you purchase a subscription to Photoshop CC, you can continue working on your project. If the trial you have is CC, you don't need to reinstall it, just sign up, then sign in with your Adobe ID.

Illustrator randomly crashes in the middle of a project and sometimes doesn't open files properly?

So I'm using Adobe Illustrator 5.5 on a relatively new Dell PC with an uprated graphics card.
Illustrator randomly crashes on me when I'm in the middle of projects saying (Adobe Illustrator is not responding) etc and closes. I lose my work and all the effort I've just put in.
Also, sometimes it will not open a file, says it's unsupported? But then when I close Illustrator and re-open it, the same file will open perfectly fine.
Is this an illustrator bug or is there something wrong with my hardware?

Hello, Help needed! I want to add an extra 4 bars of a new track in the middle of my project but I need all the remaining tracks to move over 4 bars if you know what I mean. Whats the best way to do this?

Hello, I need to add 4 extra bars in the middle of one of my projects. Therefore all the tracks need to be split at that point and moved 4 bars further along. Is there an easy way to do this? I cant see a way without painstakingly splitting each track at that point, trying to move each of the tracks individually along by 4 bars and trying to line them all up exactly again. Ive tried this a few times but their not in exact sinc. Any help at all greatly appreciated! Thanks Declan

Use the arrangement track. If you define arrangement regions, you can move sections of your song around, across all tracks.

Staffing changes and how to handle within the middle of a project

Hello,
Our users have this issue. They have a project set up that is partially complete. Let's say the project lasts three years and we have finished half of the project. We have a resource staffed to a role that has been listed as the responsible person for a number of tasks. The role also has tasks assigned to it. This person isn't responsible for all of the tasks assigned to this role, just a subset. We are half way through the project so some of the tasks are completed.
This person moves to a new team. I want to ensure they don't see the tasks for this particular role anymore, but want to keep the information that they were responsible for some completed tasks prior to moving to a new team.
So far the only we we have to do this is to go through all completed tasks for which they were the responsible person, reset complete, delete responsible person, and mark complete. This is so we can delete the staffing assignment since this person has moved to a different team.
Is there any way to show that they were assigned to the role for half of the project, leave the completed tasks alone, but keep the user from seeing future work for his/her old team on the task dashboard? We are losing the history of what this person worked on because it is more important to ensure they see an accurate picture of their current and future work assignments.
I tried putting start and end date values for the staffing assignment, but I still see the future tasks on my task dashboard even though my end date has passed.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wendy,
I'm afraid that currently it's simply not possible to achieve this. For one of the essential features of the dashboard is to show the tasks where you are responsible, so by defintion all of those tasks will be shown. The notion of "changing teams" is not known in cProjects and thus it's not modelled in cProjects. However, a possible workaround could be through authorizations (either by user-groups or org)
In order to track the work, the time recorded with CATS could used of course...
Other than that, I currently see only some development at your side as possibility to get this done. As far as I understood, this would require some interference in the logic of the task-dashboard, and the creation of customer tables where the history would be stored...

Upgrading Premiere Pro CC to Premiere Pro CC 2014 in the middle of a project

Hi guys!
I was working through a project with Premiere pro CC until I checked my creative cloud app and realised there was an update for the software, Premiere Pro CC 2014. I thought great, I'll download it straight away.
It's a great bit of software and it does seem to be faster, however, whenever I play a sequence everything is fine and working as expected except the sequence monitor, which constantly freezes while trying to edit. Quitting the application and re-opening it is my only real solution so far as it's fine once I do this for a good couple of minutes until the sequence monitor freezes again
I was wondering whether I could get any help with this problem? I am using Yosemite as my OS and I have read up on many issues that have come about with adobe applications since the launch of Apple's new OS update. Someone recommended going back to the older version of Premiere Pro CC, but I've done a serious amount of work on the newer version now so going back is out of the question really.
I've spoken to quite a few people about the issue, like you do, and they are also a bit unclear of a solution. Some say its the graphics card. Some say I need to buy a new computer (I have an imac mid 2010 intel core i3). And most say to downgrade to mavericks again as adobe and Apple are still working on a solution for the near future.
I was thinking of re-installing premiere pro cc 2014 altogether but I am a bit worried that work may go missing if I did?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Tape delay gets cut off in the middle of a project

I'm working on a multichannel 24bit, 48kHz audio project in Soundtrack Pro version 1.1.
I'm using WAVs as source material.
One of the audiotracks contains a short sample of 1 second, that has a Tape Delay effect on it with the feedback on 55%, so it keeps repeating for about a minute. At least, that's what is should do.
The problem is that it gets cut off after around 15 seconds.
This does not happen when I solo the track or some of the tracks.
I've converted the 24bit, 48kHZ source WAVs to 24bit & 16bit AIFFs, but this doesn't make a difference.
I found a work around, by solo exporting & importing the track with the delay on it, but this is not how it should be.
Has anyone had similar problems and maybe found a solution?

For everybody who has the same problem: I found a solution.
Soundtrack appears to end an effect abruptly after around 15 seconds when there are no new clips on the timeline in that track.
The solution is adding 'silent clips' in those tracks every 10 or 15 seconds for as long as the effect has to continue. Not very elegant, but it works.

Motion craches in the middle of a project

1 time out of 2 motion craches on me while I'm working on a project, Finalcut pro does that to but 1 time out of 5. I have a fairlly recent computer late 2009 its a 2 X 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM running os 10.6.7
And often it is so slow its frostrating . I did reinstall the whole os and software on a different Hard drive, my drive has 34 GB free but my project is not on that drive, my project drive has 92GB free. But I'm pretty sure it's not the lack of space.

Since you can't get a crash log, how about posting a problematic project (sans media) for us to take a look at?
Something you can do on your own - run Activity Monitor (it's in your Utilities folder) and watch your memory usage - see if it's full when you start to experience slow downs. When Motion is going slowly, what happens if you save and quit, then open the same project again? Do you get another thirty minutes of working?
Generally speaking, btw, I rarely have my Motion projects so long or so complex that I spend more than 30 minutes in an individual project, how long is your project? Also, I never keep Motion running - I either open a project or send one from FCP, do my work, save, then quit - and fall back into FCP or the Finder and then start Motion again for any new project.
Finally - try clearing your Render Cache - under Mark/RAM Preview/Clear RAM Preview. Motion will hang onto your renders (in case an undo makes them valid again) and this can rapidly fill your memory. Clearing the RAM Preview frees this memory.
Check your memory usage and post a project...

Upgrading in the middle of a project

I've been working on old g4-dual and final cut 4.5 and want to upgrade to g5quad and final cut studio pro 5. Besides having to re-render, will I encounter other problems?

Why do I want to upgrade? I started this project years ago on final cut 2 on computer still using (g4). I've upgraded to final cut 4.5, after digitizing but before cutting sequences. The computer now has lots of problems which will be expensive to fix. (not the fault of fina cut) In addition, can't carry well the load of the project. Done everything and still crashes all the time. Maybe this has to do with upgrade, but doen't make sense to me that this is the case....Since I'm getting a new computer have to reput final cut. I have lost the disk for final cut 2, and anyways afraid it won't go on the tiger system. So thought if I need to buy a new final cut, why not the latest. But a little afraid to upgrade to new computer, new operating system and new final cut. Hear different things about problems could face and just looking for assurances! Thanks
