An apostrophe in a genre name screws up Apple TV

Another bug I found in the current version of Apple TV has to do with an apostrophe in the genre name.
Let's say I have a genre named - Sam's Favorites, if you scroll to that particular genre, the artwork for what should be in the genre will begin displaying. Perfect. Now go INTO that genre and it has all movies in it.
The issue is the apostrophe. I verified it. Once the apostrophe is gone from the genre name, the movies within it will show correctly.
Please fix Apple.

Yes and no.
You can select all the tracks you wish to change the Genre of and change them all at once. Then choose File>Get Info or type command-i.
You'll be warned that are about to edit information for multiple items.
Click OK. Then make you Genre change.
Just remember any field you change will be changed in all the selected items.

Is there a way to figure out the name behind an Apple ID? My oganization uses an iPad as a kiosk. Somone accessed the iPad, changed the Apple ID associated with iTunes, downloaded a game and set a password to lock up the whole iPad. We had to completely restore the iPad in order to access it. When I tried to upload a new app, a different Apple ID popped up, and I'm assuming it was the person who locked the iPad and downloaded the game. I would like to figure out who owns that account, just so we can not allow that person access to the iPads anymore.
Is there a way to do this?

Settings>Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...sign back in with the ID you want to use.
Note: Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using any other Apple ID other than the one they were originally obtained with.

HT204053 I changed my internet service provider and no longer have the email that is the user name for my apple id. Is this just anecdotal, or is it going to cause me problems in the future? I no longer receive any of the mail sent to that address.

At first I thought I had to change the user name on my apple id, but I guess that is not possible. If I want my apple id to be linked to my current email address which is a gmail, I guess I am basically creating a new apple id, with all the complications that brings, right?

Roger, thank you. I wish I had sent out this question a month ago, when I committed the folly of creating another apple id with my alternate email address. Since then, I had realized that I didn't seem to need it, hence today's post.
So now what do I do? Is there anyway to delete that unecessary apple id?
And it is even worse than that...the secondary address listed currently in our apple id is a mobile me one that my husband created, but never uses, never checks, and probably doesn't even remember the password for.

I have only one Apple Id, which is my email address "[email protected]". My Apple Id and primary email are the same. I now have a new email address, and want to change my Apple Id to my new email address. I've been to the Apple Id support page, and have found out how to change the Apple Id on the Apple Id support webpage. I've been reluctant to go through with the process, because I'm unsure as to what the consequences will be if I change my Apple Id. I have an iPhone and an iPad as well as two Macs and an Apple TV hooked up to my Apple Id. My iMac is the main computer used for storing all files and syncing my iOS devices. In addition my contacts and calendar is in the iCloud. I hope someone with the know-how or experience can help me answer the following questions:
1. iPhone and iPad: Once I change my Apple Id, have I understood it correctly when the next thing I do is that I go to General settings -> Store, and sign out from my "old" Apple Id, and then sign in with the new name for my Apple Id? Will my previous purchases of music, ibooks and apps be connected to the new name of my Apple Id, and will I still be able to get previously purchased apps updated? As for iCloud, what must I do on my iPhone and iPad to make sure that contacts and calendars keep in sync?
2. iCloud: Will changing the name of the Apple Id on the Apple Id support webpage be the only thing I need to do, or are there more steps to follow?
3. iMac and MacBook Pro: Am I right in assuming that all I need to do is sign out from the old named account and then sign in with the new name in AppStore, iTunes, FaceTime and Messages app? Is the Apple Id in use by any other apps or functions?
4. Apple TV: Once my iMac is up and running with the new name of the account, I sign out from the old named account, then sign in with the new name, will streaming music and photos etc. work just as before the name change?
5. I still haven't activated Mail in iCloud. As I understand, once you do that you will be prompted to register a @me.com or @icloud.com email address. Will this address now be possible to use instead of my new email address as the name for my Apple Id?

Time Machine will continue to do incremental backups.
It won't immediately delete previous backups of the items you exclude (but it will, eventually). You can do that yourself, if you want, per #12 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.

TS5376 Help! I can't fix or uninstall/reinstall iTunes without getting this error message: "The path \C\Users\(my name)\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\iTunes64msi.' cannot be found." So I can't remove iTunes.

Here's the complete message:

So I'm stuck in this loop in which I can't download an update, can't remove iTunes to reinstall, and can't use iTunes currently as it shuts down at the drop of a hat. Am I hopeless or is there a fix I can find?

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. Use the same advice as in note 1 but for iTunes. Try the MS fixit, or leave it in place and go to the next step.

Changed name of my Apple ID - now my songs aren't activated anymore-

I recently changed the name of my Apple ID (to my new MobileMe address). Now there are a ton of songs and applications in my library which are activated with my previous account name. So I can't play or use/sync them anymore.
But if I choose "Activate Computer" from the menu iTunes tells me that this computer has already been activated for this account.
Is there anybody who knows how to solve this issue?

I got some songs (and apps) I purchased under the old account name. I see this old account name in the information dialogue of these songs.
If I double click them I get a warning saying that this song hasn't been activated on this computer. Then I fill in my new account name and password for activation. After that I get the message that this computer has already been activated. But the song still doesn't play…

S3 backup can't upload files with apostrophes in the name

s3 backup doesn't seem to be able to upload any file with an apostrophe in the name. I see a load of "Unable to upload 'foo bar's.file' to Amazon S3" warnings in the event log. The log is littered with file names that contain an apostrope. This seems to be the thing that stands out in common with all of the failed transfers. Is there some way to workaround the problem besides renaming all files containing apostropes?
It seems like an easy fix to properly escape single quotes in the name for upload though, but I suppose that I'll need a firmware fix for a change like that.

Have you checked your Amazon S3 account to see if the files have actually uploaded to the bucket or if they did indeed fail to upload?
I also recommend that you contact support to have an incident created. There is a hotfix for 4.1.108 that updates the Amazon S3 applications API version and might help with what you are experiencing, although it is intended for a seperate Amazon S3 issue.

My email and my iCloud are not displaying my correct last name. How do I set up my correct name in my apple iD?

As I mentioned, my Apple iD has an incorrect last name for my account, so everytime I send an email the recipent doesn't know it comes from me as it seems that the email was sent by another person.
I've changed my las name a few times through the email preferences at icloud.com but it keeps changing back to the previous name.
Do you know how can I set up my name to be correct again?

All you can do is not give him your Apple ID password.He can use existing apps and music on the iPod and can sync with iTunes. In order to make any purchases he would have to enter your Apple ID password.
