Android Camera really choppy on Samsung Galaxy Tab

Hi guys,
I'm building an AIR Application for Android devices and I'm using the Camera.
I found a really strange behaviour. When I first start the app and the camera initializes, I get around 1fps(!).
If I then press the home Button and klick on the app icon again, it's all good and I get the full framerate.
This same behaviour also occurs within the Tour de Mobile Flex app when I start the Raw Camera part.
As soon as I press home and then return to the app, everythings fine...
Anybody out there having the same issues and maybe a soulution?
Help is highly apreciated.
Gabor

Just so you don't think you're the only one, we've created an app as well with Adobe Air and we're using the Galaxy Tab as well, and we're getting worse framerates than you!  We're getting about 1 frame every 15 seconds.
I can do the same as you.  I hit the home button, and bring the app back into the foreground, and we get the full framerate back as well.  I do not have a solution either.

  • Where i can get Flash player for Android device such as Samsung galaxy tab 2.0?

Well, folks, my question is : where I can download Flash player for Android OS ? I have a Samsung galaxy tab 2.0 7'' and I tried to download that player from anywhere but that was a waste of time. The "downloaders" in the android market Don't Work. So please, help me find out where I can get this player. I know that Adobe doesn't support Android but I'm sure there Is a way.

    Hi jerry3D,
Flash Player for Android is no longer available. For more information, see here:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-up date.html
Android users can still download and install Flash Player from the Archived Flash Player Versions page on the Adobe website.

hi, i just bought a galaxy tab 2 7.0 with android ice cream but i don't find adobe flash player
    where do i find it?

    Hi,
The list of Adobe certified devices can be found here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html
It does not look like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is an officially supported device. Also, on the page above I found the following statement.
"Please note: Flash Player will not be certified for any device OS beyond Android 4.0.x." Ice Cream Sandwich is version 4.1.

  • Parental Controls on Samsung Galaxy Tab / Android

Hello I have Perental Controls enabled on the family Samsung Galaxy Tab (Teenager). This seems to stop YouTube working, either from the YouTube App or from a browser.  How can we get access to YouTube? There doesn't seem to be any way of adding sites to a white list on the Mobile version of F-Secure. Cheers

Hopefully someone else knows more and can help out here, but my thoughts are: The only thing that would make sense with having to allow all content types is that you actually can search for all those content types on YouTube, the same way you can search for anything on search engines like Google for example. So maybe you need to allow all content types because you probably can find all kinds of "bad" stuff there. This would make sense if Parental Control is unable to determine the content type of each video on YouTube. The content types are probably defined per web site only. I mean it either blocks or allows a web site, and that's it! There's no in between solution. I'm only speculating here but I'm afraid I might be right  As a comparison: is it possible to block/allow content types for Google searches? Like it's ok to search for drugs but not violence? I couldn't find a whitelist either when looking at the user guide. The only thing I can think of is to test and block one content type at a time and hopefully that way find out exactly which are required.

  • Will PS Touch be supported on Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus (Android 3.2, resolution 1024x600) and when I try to buy this application Google Play shows "This app is incompatible with your Samsung GT-P6210".
Is it because of the resolution? Will it ever be supported?

From the tech specs page for PS Touch:
    Android
Operating system: Android™ 3.1 or higher
    Display size: 8.9-inch or larger
    Display resolution: 1280 x 800 minimum
    Camera: Recommended

    Hope that helped.

  • Compiling/Debugging AIR App. on Samsung Galaxy Tab

    Hey guys,
I'm currently testing/making a mobile app with Burrito/Hero SDK.  I am successfully compiling and debugging on my Droid 2 - there are certain settings on the phone that allows USB Debugging mode and also allows "unknown sources" (non-market applications) to be installed.
I want to be able to run/install the application on a Samsung Galaxy Tab - I want to see how it looks on a bigger resolution.  I am not able to turn on USB debugging on this device, therefore, cannot debug or install on the device.
Has anybody tried this?  Or does anybody know how to root the install so I can test my application?
    Thanks! Cheers!
    -Joe

    Hi!
I tried this, but no good results either.
When I did a number of google searches I came into conclusion that there's no Galaxy Tab drivers yet bundled with the Burrito. Then I tried to google the tab drivers for MacOS but couldn't find them either. So I guess that's the basic reason that Burrito team chose include just a subset of devices for the beta - or then Samsung has been postponing the mac driver implementation?
I assume you could tweak even FB4 to build to Android if you manually edit settings and configs and hunt the drivers and deploy AndroidSDK. But didn't want to go there...
I hope to have the galaxytab working asap since from my point of view that's the most interesting target environment (at the moment) because of the larger touch screen size and presumeably better CPU.
PS. Has Adobe guesstimated about FB4.5 release date yet?

  • Availability of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Unlocked GSM support

    Hi,
I am travelling to Chandler next weekend and planning to buy Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 8/16 GB Unlocked with GSM support.
Can you please provide me details about availability and total cost (which includes Product Price + International Warranty Charges + Tax) for this product? I will be using it in India.
    Regards,
    Sagar R

Yup...  I suspect the Tab2 7.0 is going to be a hot item.  Similar price point to the B&N Nook Tablet but utterly blows it away.  (Unlocked bootloader, much less modified Android, GPS, cameras, unlocked bootloader.)
Poor B&N - The Tab2 7.0 is going to be brutal competition for the NookTab.
If I hadn't scored one of Amazon's $140 Kindle Fire refurbs (normally $170 for refurb) I'd have been tempted by the Tab2.
I'm going to wait for the Note 10.1 instead most likely, I'm fairly happy with my original Tab 10.1 and my hacktoy KFire.
KFire + Cyanogenmod 9 = awesome if you don't mind no GPS, camera, or MicroSD.

  • Flash player samsung galaxy tab 3

Flash player on samsung galaxy tab 3 how to install

99% of the time, the archived versions will get you a "You need the latest Flash Player" message wherever you try to use them. So basically, they're useless.
Apple (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and Android (Kindle, Galaxy, smartphones) do not want their users viewing Flash content. It's just that simple. Playing Flash content is processor consumptive and it drains batteries, also shortening the life of them, and Apple & Google don't want to replace dead batteries for customers from that.
Apple is really good about telling iPad and iPhone customers that they can't use them for Flash content, but Amazon & Google act like it's some sort of national security secret, and the world will end if they tell a cusotmer that Flash is off limits, and they lose a sale.

  • Unable to use FiOS Mobile Remote App on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

I'm one of the holdout Blackberry customers who Verizon doesn't recognize as wanting apps anymore.  I finally broke down and bought an Android tablet device when I saw the FiOS Mobile Remote App and recognized it as an easy solution for controling my multiple HD STBs in my "Man Cave".  Unfortunately, the app has been completely useless.
The app loads fine.  I'm able to register each HD STB with the app, however doing anything more than the initial set-up for the remote function results in a crash.  Every time I attempt to use it, I get the message "Unfortunately, FiOS Remote has stopped."  I will occassionally see the attempted connection displayed on the corner of my TV screen.
All other functions of the app work, including the DVR function.
I've reported this failure for months, using the handy little report button below the crash message.  No response.
I've commented on this topic in threads from other users with the same problem.  No response.
I've posted to the comments section of the Google Play store.  No response.
Please, would someone from Verizon acknowledge this problem exists?  My best theory so far is that my tablet device is not on a Verizon data plan (WiFi only), so therefore Verizon isn't interested in supporting it (or this loyal customer).
Device is Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7.0, running Android 4.0.4.  All FiOs STBs replaced with latest generation.

I am sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with the app. We try to make the app as compatible with all devices as possible. The full list of devices the mobile remote is compatible with is https://www22.verizon.com/OnDemand/unprotected/AboutFlexView.aspx   . You may find there may be devices that do work with it that re not on the list, but these are all verified working devices with the app. Since yours doesn't appear to be on the list, we can not gaurantee it will work. Submitting all the feedback has gotten word back to Verizon about the troubles you are having. You can also submit this to the Verizon Idea Exchange. Hi all
I'm really pleased to announce our photo competition winner, congrats to StuartRogerson - one Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will be on Santa's sleigh with your name on it shortly!
But there's still one Galaxy 2 to be won in part two of the competition - see below for the winning photo from Stuart. We felt this picture best captured the feeling and meaning of Christmas - but what do you think? PM a caption for this photo to StephanieG or SeanD and we'll select the best as the winner, it should be something that captures the spirit of Christmas - it can be funny, seasonal or sentimental. Last day for submitting your captions is 23rd Dec (by 5pm) so get your thinking caps on, we're looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

  • I recently received a samsung galaxy tab 4 nook? and no matter what i cant sign in adobe keeps saying my iinfo is wrong yet i can sign on here whats the issuee and how can i fix it

I've tried resetting the password that doesn't work no matter what I try

I wish I had an answer, but the same thing is happening to me.  Can I go back to the old version of Digital Editions, please?  Any help is greatly appreciated.
Update:  While I didn't answer the question above, I did manage to fix my problem.  Here is the background:  My old Nook was a Nook Color, which, while it was greatly loved and semi-intelligent, it wasn't a tablet.  When I connected it to my computer, it was recognized as a device and showed up in Digital Editions.  My library uses Overdrive to handle the borrowing and download/reading functions.  When you borrow a book, you downloaded it to your computer, opened it in Digital Editions, and then did a "drag and drop" into your Nook.  I had assumed that when I got my new Samsung Galaxy Tab Nook, it would work the same way.  I had not adjusted my thinking to realize that the Tab is a true computer with an operating system (Android) such as that on my laptop.  I was trying to fix the problem with the DRM authorization using every other ePub reader that I could find (installing the app and then attempting to open the book) and nothing worked.  I finally got a message that clicked saying "You do not have rights to open this book" rather than the unhelpful message that I got from Digital Editions saying "Error! Check Authorization".  I looked at my library's website and caught the notification that Overdrive has an app.  I downloaded and installed it, connected to my library, logged in using my library card number and everything was there.  Now, instead of downloading to my laptop and then moving the book to my Nook, I directly connect to my library's website and download the book to my Galaxy Tab.  I could read directly in my browser (provided I was connected to the internet) but downloading ensures that I can read the book in any situation.
This absolutely does not fix the problem in the question above, nor does it answer why my old method worked for exactly two and a half books and then stopped working, but at least I learned something and I have a solution that means my Galaxy Tab can be used for the primary function of my old Nook, that of packing library books with me no matter where I am in a lightweight, easily read format.
