Android Email

Is it only me or do other people experience this problem? I'm still on Yahoo.
I have my Android phone setup using the standard email app connecting to the BT servers using IMAP. All works fine for several days (usually) and then it refuses to connect/sync with the BT server. The only way to get things working again is to logon via Web Mail and log straight out again. Some days I have to do this several times in one day. Not very good when you are out and about and want mobile email.

If you are using IMAP on your phone you should try deleting your email account from the phone. Switch off then restart your phone and remake the email account. Use the manual set up. Use the settings in this link

If you are presently using a POP3 account make sure that you backup and save any emails that you have on your phone otherwise you will lose them when you delete the account.
After you have saved your emails carry out the procedure as above but this time use the settings for A pop3 account.

  • Android email app formatting errors

    Some emails viewed by the standard Android email app don't format corrrectly.  However the formatting is correct if I use the Gmail app instead.
    Below are two screenshots of the same email. The first using the standard email app has errors - some HTML has not been rendered correctly. The second using the Gmail app is fine.
    Am using the latest KitKat.
    Any suggestions about how to fix this?

    Unfortunately that failed to work.   Its only a very small number of emails that are affected - from certain senders.  So the ones from Banana Republic (for example), always seem to go wrong on this email app. They work OK on the Gmail app, on Windows Live Mail on my computer, and on our IPad.
    I now realise this app is a Sony specific app and not a general Android app.   I believe there is a minor bug that fails you correctly handle certain HTML sequences. I suspect it has probaly not been kept up-to-date with all the HTML protocols.
    Could you report it to the Sony developers.

    planning to buy Z3 wanted to know if we can loaded android email app on Z3, apps like Maildroid or magic cloud.
    waiting for the the info.

    There is no Outlook Web Access (OWA) as there was on the older devices. However, this has nothing to do with accounts you accessed via BES5. you can add multiple Exchange accounts if your IT admin allows adding of the accounts to BlackBerry.

    I can't get emails to download anymore.  And I get the "Sorry!" message: The application Email (processcom.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly.  Please try again.  With a Force Close button. Any ideas on how to fix this and is it going to require a trip to a Verizon store?

    HI, I don't understand - Seemingly I can't have an any type of PRIMARY Apple ID that has an apple ext. Instead I have to use a work email or even worse a google, android, MS email for my primary address to work - What is the point in directing customers to competitors? I already tried Apple direct but I didn't seem to get a conclusive answer to my question.
    Also why can't you password protect the email app on the ipad or iphone?  Its really frustrating that my email is availble for anyone to see once the screen password is bypassed. And yet my laptop (which I only use ironically) continually asks for my password once I have closed down.

    You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can only choose not to use it.  Also, your @me.com address is associated with this ID and cannot be moved to another ID or be used to create a new ID.
    All you could do is create a new ID using a different email address with your name in it.  If you do you will have an associated @icloud.com email address.

    Username or password is incorrect

    Settings, Accounts, Add Account, IMAP, Email Account (enter email address), Manual Setup, POP3, Sign In Password, then I get to the point where I can edit the email settings and I use:
    Username <emal address>
    Password: <passowrd>
    Server: pop.verizon,net (tired incoming.verizon.net but it didn't work)
    Port 995
    Security: SSL/TLS
    Delete email from server: When I delete from inbox

    It may not matter since I see you are setting POP3 later, but you shouldn't be selecting IMAP as the type of account. There should be a POP3 option there.
    Since you don't have a Yahoo linked account, your username shouldn't be your full email address, just the part before tha @ symbol.
    For the sake of example, we are going to pretend that we are setting up fictional account "[email protected]" and the password for logging into that account in webmail is "fakepassword" - Again, this is a fictitious account for the sake of an example.
    The settings for using Verizon's servers would be:
    Incoming Server: pop.verizon.net
    Server Requires Authentication: Yes
    Username: fakeacct
    Password: fakepassword
    Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
    Port: 995
    Outgoing Server: smtp.verizon.net
    Server Requires Authentication: Yes (You can set it to use the same settings as incoming, or manually enter the username and password.)
    Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
    Port: 465
    If you are given the option anywhere for Secure Password Authentication (SPA), set it to No or Normal
    If all of that is set up and it's still not working, your best bet is to provide a screenshot of your settings (with personal information blocked/removed) and any errors you are getting.

  • Emails not always synchronized W7 Thunderbird when read first in Android Email client

    when receiving email and reading it first in Android 4.2 email client in mobile, mails do not always appear in W7 Thunderbird 24.6.0. This does not take place always, mostly email are synched to pc also when read first in mobile.
    Please advise how to debug this further?

    Yes, there are settings but will depend on the type of email account you have. For gmail, once I erase emails from my phone they will not show up in my inbox on my computer after it syncs every few minutes. If you have gmail you can change the deleted items to sync by selecting going to your  gmail inbox in your phone, select menu --> Settings --> Labels -->Deleted Items Sync All.
    If you have a different email provider, please let us know and we will confirm if the option is available.

    Emails (POP3) that are "read" disappear from my inbox when I refresh the inbox. What's happening?

    Check to see that you have it set to ALL rather than UNREAD ONLY - that would explain why your READ emails are not showing.

  • The Application Email (processcom.android.email)has stopped.....

    I know many people have posted about this same problem. And the common fix seems to be wiping the email out completely and resetting it up. I have done this before and it did work. And can restart my Verizon email with no problem.  However, I now have work email on my phone too.  It's a major hassle to get it reset. I can't do it myself.  I have to go to 1 specific person at work to have him redo it.  And he isn't always available. Is there any way I can get this working again without having to wipe the email accounts clean? I have tried deleting all the emails themselves so that if one of them caused the problem, this would fix it. But that didn't work either. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    I feel you pain; It is a bit inconvenient to constantly contact a person at work to setup your work email. Your work email is usually setup with security features that require certain authentication information entered by your company's IT representative and only he/she has such information to complete setup.

    Is there a way to set the Username in Email Profile for Samsung KNOX Standard policy to
    User Principal Name? Right now it is set to Auto Discovery and the email policy does not go through, but if I manually setup the email it will push through correctly when using the setting that would apply if I could select User Principal Name.

    The Username field is fixed at "Auto discovered" and this cannot be changed. Intune automatically populates this field with the user principal name. This is different in iOS where you must choose between Primary SMTP and UPN.

    Help!  I keep getting this message and do not have the option to view my email.  It force closes every time.  I had this problem last week, cut off all of my syncing and cut the phone off and it fixed itself.  This time it has been doing this for three days and can't get it to stop.  My calander won't sync with my outlook either.  Anyone had luck fixing the email problem.

    Try these steps below:
    Soft Reset
    Press the Power key. 
    Touch Power off. 
    Touch OK. 
     Remove and reinstall the battery and power on the  device. 
    Then dial *228 send and option 1 on the device.  
    If you are using another email application try removing that  application or changing its settings. 
    Go to Home.
    Settings.
    Applications.
    Manage Applications.
    Click the Menu button and select  Filter.
    Select Running.
    Scroll down to the "Email" application. select .Clear Data.
    If the problem persists try deleting the emails that you had from the date the problems started.  Then re-sync the email account on the device.

    I went and had a "hard reset" after trying for 3 hours with suggestions.  It came back.  This is an awful phone and I'm getting poor service (as usual).
