Weblogic plugin for eclipse not working...
Hi All:
I recently downloaded the weblogic plugin (1.1.1) for eclipse from here: http://dev2dev.bea.com/codelibrary/code/wlplugin.jsp.
I followed the installation steps as laid out in the readme file, but I am not
seeing the 'WebLogic' option in the 'Window' -> 'Customize Perspective...' ->
'Other' node.
I have tried with both eclipse 2.1.3 and 3.0.0 on windows 2k, with the same result.
I know I am missing something here 'coz reading posts from this group it appears
people are using it fairly successfully.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards
SanjeevTwo issues with the BEA Weblogic/Eclipse plugin:
1. The documentation hasn't been updated (readme.html). It still says 1.1.0 even though the current version is 1.1.1.
2. Assuming that the readme.html still applies to version 1.1.1, the language pack of the plugin is missing. The instructions say to copy the language pack (com.bea.eclipse.weblogic.nl1_1.1.0) to the Eclipse plugins directory. But this folder is not in the plugin zip file. Is this supposed to be downloaded separately?
In any case, the plugin isn't registering in Eclipse 2.1. I can only guess that it's because the language pack is missing. It looks like others are having problems as well.
Any word on this?
Thanks in advance,

Nedd to configure apache-bea weblogic plugin for apache2 on solaris 10
Hi,
I have an apache server and a bea weblogic application server. For security reasons, I wold like to configure a bea plugin on the apache server to redirect the client http/https requests from the apache2 server to bea application server.
I have gone through the bea documentation and configure my apache2 httpd.conf as follows
LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl_20.so
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicHost myweblogic.server.com
WebLogicPort 7001
MatchExpression *.jsp
</IfModule>
<Location /weblogic>
WebLogicHost myweblogic.server.com
WebLogicPort 7001
SetHandler weblogic-handler
PathTrim /weblogic
</Location>
Then Restarted the apache2 and tryied to acces bea application through http://myweblogic.server.com/weblogic/
and http://myweblogic.server.com/something.jsp
It did not work
httpd is started propery.
Any help would be highly apreciated
Many Thanks
Ushas SymonThe Web server plug-ins do not natively support outbound SSL connections
yet(i.e. SSL from the plug-in to WebLogic). This is a feature for version
6.0. You can use SSL from the browser to Apache or from the browser to
WebLogic directly.
The majority of our customers use strict firewall rules to protect the
traffic between Apache and WebLogic. If they are paranoid, they use an SSL
proxy or a VPN product.
Thanks,
Michael

Hello,
I want to know how to connect Apache 1.3.12 with mod_ssl to BEA WebLogic5.1.0 on Solaris via HTTPS. I have heard that this can only work over t3...
is that true? If so, how can it be done securely? If that isn't the case,
how can httpd.conf/weblogic.conf be configured on the Apache server to talk
to the WebLogic server on port 7002? Both of the machines I am using are
running Solaris 7 with necessary patches. I have installed SP5 for WebLogic
and I have copied mod_wl.so and mod_wl_ssl.o to the Apache server for
inclusion as modules.
>
The two servers communicate correctly over HTTP, but I want to be able toserve some JSPs via HTTPS from the WebLogic server through the Apache web
server. I have generated all the required CA and server certificates for
each server, and they both individually answer HTTPS requests, but do not
work when an HTTPS request is sent to the Apache server for a JSP that is
served from the WebLogic server. I read somewhere in the documentation for
5.1.0 that WebLogic will communicate via HTTPS to various web and proxy
servers.

Hi,
I have installed WLS 9.2 and eclipse 3.2 and I am trying to start the weblogic from within eclipse.
I pretty much followed everything written. I can start the weblogic outside of eclipse ok.
I have reached the stage where after right-click-ing to start the server, am getting the following error response.
Any advice would be appreciated

- extract the plugin into the plugins directory
- restart eclipse
- create a clean project (to prevent artefacts)
- rightclick the project, select from the menu team->share project
- choose the VSS option and point it to your VSS server
- team->update

Weblogic plugin for eclipse: License Exception
Hi,
I am using weblogic server 6.1 installed in my local workstation. When i start
the server from a system prompt it starts without a problem but when i try to
start it from my IDE (Eclipse 2.1 with weblogicplugin_1.0.0) i get the following
error
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ License Exception $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Unable to start WebLogic Server !!
Missing license file for: WebLogic Server 6.1
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ License Exception $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Has anyone got any idea as to why it produces this error?
thanks
maxMax,
I am also receiving a license exception with eclipse v3.0 and the wl plugin v1.1.1.
I tried moving the license.bea file to various locations including the eclipse/plugins folder where the wlpu lives - nothing seems to work.
Have you made any progress?
Let me know, thx.

OpenJPA plugin for Eclipse?
Hi All,
Is there an OpenJPA plugin for Eclipse? I so, what does it do and is it available for Eclipse version 3.2.2?
Thanks.Hi,
Eclipse 3.4 EE edition will run any SE JPA app and deploy EE JPA based EARs to all the major application servers without extra configuration, Eclipse 3.3 will run SE and EE (with the WTP 3.0 extension). You may need to supply the implementation libraries from the respective JPA vendors themselves.
You will find everything you need to run TopLink using the EclipseLink JPA provider including the Workbench and Dali UI's in the following locations....
http://www.eclipse.org/eclipselink/
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Source
http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/dali/main.php
The following SE and container managed pure JPA examples will work fine with OpenJPA by changing the provider tag and associated properties in persistence.xml - I verified this on WebLogic 10.3. However, I recommend using EclipseLink as the persistence provider for any new projects.
In
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial
Change
<provider>org.eclipse.persistence.jpa.PersistenceProvider</provider>
To
<provider>org.apache.openjpa.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl</provider>
Or
<provider>kodo.persistence.PersistenceProviderImpl</provider>
Modify @Id generation as required on your entities.
When running in SE or outside of WebLogic, make sure you have the additional library org.apache.openjpa_....jar or com.bea.core.kodo.....jar(s) available, turn on logging via the application server admin console in EE or via the following property in SE.
<property name="openjpa.Log" value="DefaultLevel=TRACE, Runtime=TRACE, Tool=ITRACE"/>
You should see the following logs to start
####<Apr 2, 2009 10:51:55 AM EDT> <Info> <Kodo JDBC> <yyyyyy-pc3> <AdminServer> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1238683915406> <BEA-2002382> <[JDBC] Using dictionary class "kodo.jdbc.sql.KodoOracleDictionary" (Oracle Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release nn.n.n.n.n - Production

IP address restrictions not working with bea weblogic plugin
We want to implement IP address restrictions via the Sun Java One Web Server admin tool for our application. We are using the Sun Java One Web Server to proxy requests via the Bea Weblogic plugin. However, we cannot get IP address restrictions to work because of the leading asterisk in the following NSAPI entry for PPATH of obj.conf :
<Object name="weblogic" ppath="*/cmcsr/*"> Service fn="wl_proxy" WebLogicCluster="10.156.20.11:9010,\
10.156.20.12:9010,10.156.20.13:9010" DynamicServerList="OFF"
</Object>
Has anyone gotten IP restrictions to work with the bea Weblogic NSAPI plugin?I'm not sure what you're asking, but each Service directive should be on its own line. It is an error to have both a <Client> tag and Service directive on a single line.

FREEEEE struts/jsp editor plugin for Eclipse
Hi guys,
I am tired of searching for struts/jsp editor plugin for Eclipse. I tried the trail version for Exadel, My eclipse, Lomboz, but none of them are good enough. I dont want to pay for a plugin.
So I downloaded Netbeans IDE which has good support for struts. But I dont want to change my Eclipse IDE because its much better.
In case you are already using a good struts/jsp editor plugin for Eclipse then please advice me ASAP.
I dont want to type up the code like <html:text or wait for runtime compilation to realize that there is a problem in the syntax. Wouldnt it be a lot better if the IDE help us reduce the development time.
Thanx

Problem with Crystal XI reports used with CR plugin for Eclipse 2.0
Hi All,
I have downloaded the latest CR plugin for eclipse (2.0), integrated with Eclipse 3.5.
I tried to use an existing report file created from Crystal Reports version XI in the following two ways.
1) Including the Crystal Report in to JSP page through viewer tags.
It worked fine
2) I tried to include the report in a JSP through using CRJavaHelper.java provided by default in the Web Project created. I changed the connection string, driver name, user ID and password.
it's throwing up an error:

After half a day of research I have come to a (hasty) conclusion that for my type of application JavaFX is NOT READY for adoption.
I was surprised to find that official Java and JavaFX integration only consists of embedding Swing components in JavaFX. Ill be using multithreading, asynch socket IO, tray icon/menu and a few others things that dont seem easy if at all possible to do in JavaFX. For long periods the application will be running without any visible gui while still doing lots of networking. So obviously Java is going to be controlling the the App and JavaFX will only be in charge of the View. I found some hacks to run JavaFX from Java but I don't want to do hacks and possibly break the license.
Im a bit confused where Sun is going with JavaFX, they add support for WS and ATOM - does that mean they will eventually copy all features from Java to JavaFX changing it from a domain specific language to general purpose one? If they dont provide an easy way for the app to do the grunt work in java and only use JavaFX for gui then that must be their aim? But how many developers are gonna wait for years untill JavaFX can do everything that Java can do?
