Announcing General Availability of PowerShell Connector and Release Candidate of Generic SQL and SAP Roles/Users

The FIM team is pleased to announce the availability of some additional Connectors for FIM2010R2.
General Availability of PowerShell Connector
The PowerShell Connector can be used to communicate with a system through PowerShell scripts. This allows an easy and flexible way to communicate with other systems but also to pre-/post-process data and files before handed over to the FIM Synchronization
Service. We believe the community will help providing scripts for this Connector for various systems and will open a place where scripts can be published for reuse.

Release Candidate of Generic SQL Connector
The Generic SQL Connector will allow you to connect to any database where you have an ODBC driver available. It enables new features compared to the built-in MA such as support for Stored Procedures, running SQL scripts, built-in delta import support, import
multiple object types, connect to multiple tables, and much more. This Connector is built on ECMA2.3 which allows schema discoverability to be customized in the Sync Engine UI. A pre-release of the next Sync Engine hotfix is included with the Connector download
and is required for the Connector to work.

Release Candidate of SAP Users and Roles/Groups
The updated SAP templates for Users and Roles/Groups allows you to manage Users, Roles, and Groups in SAP. This also include password sync for Users to SAP. The Connector will make sure roles are represented as groups to make it possible to manage these
with bhold. This template will require the previously published WebService Connector:

If you have participated in any other Connector preview program you will have access to the Release Candidate downloads. If you have not participated before then to get access to the preview programs on Connect either join the program “Identity and Access
Management”, “FIM Synchronization Service Connectors Pre-release” on
http://connect.microsoft.com/directory or follow this link

We've been using the OpenLDAPXMA to be able to connect to ACF2 CA-LDAP (from Computer Associates) running on a IBM Z-OS Mainframe System. We've been using it for password synchronization since 2004 on MIIS. Today it's still used via the
OpenLDAPXMA (64bit) on FIM 2010 R2.
We had to tweak the password management component in the OpenLDAPXMA to support the error messages we get from the ACF2 System, as we support a multi-master password setup between Mainframe and Active Directory (one can change the password on
MF and/or on Windows). by example  "LDP0406E ACF2 error modifying lid(ACF00155 NEW PASSWORD CANNOT BE THE SAME AS CURRENT PASSWORD)".
Additionally, we cannot get the delta import to work with the CA-LDAP, there's no capability in it and we tried to use the time attribute to use in the query for recent changes, but it does not work. (I think we need it in a large integer format
or unix time integer).
Would be great to have Microsofts' support in this :)
In a case like this where your follow-up has nothing to do with the
original post you should create a new thread.
Having said that, neither of the MAs to which you refer are official
Microsoft MAs and as such there is no support from Microsoft available.
Also, keep in mind that the ECMA1/XMA extensibility framework has been
deprecated and replaced by the ECMA 2.0. You should plan on replacing
existing ECMA1 management agents with ECMA2.0 connectors.

  • Business scenarios on SD and MM modules for generic datasources and enhance

    Hi,
Can anybody send some documents on SD and MM module on generic datasource and on enhancements.Pl send it to my MailID:[email protected]
    Thanks,
    Chinna

    Hi,
    MM Process flow:
The typical procurement cycle for a service or material consists of the following phases:
    1. Determination of Requirements
Materials requirements are identified either in the user departments or via materials planning and control. (This can cover both MRP proper and the demand-based approach to inventory control. The regular checking of stock levels of materials defined by master records, use of the order-point method, and forecasting on the basis of past usage are important aspects of the latter.) You can enter purchase requisitions yourself, or they can be generated automatically by the materials planning and control system.
    2. Source Determination
The Purchasing component helps you identify potential sources of supply based on past orders and existing longer-term purchase agreements. This speeds the process of creating requests for quotation (RFQs), which can be sent to vendors electronically via SAP EDI, if desired.
    3. Vendor Selection and Comparison of Quotations
The system is capable of simulating pricing scenarios, allowing you to compare a number of different quotations. Rejection letters can be sent automatically.
    4. Purchase Order Processing
The Purchasing system adopts information from the requisition and the quotation to help you create a purchase order. As with purchase requisitions, you can generate Pos yourself or have the system generate them automatically. Vendor scheduling agreements and contracts (in the SAP System, types of longer-term purchase agreement) are also supported.
    5. Purchase Order Follow-Up
The system checks the reminder periods you have specified and - if necessary - automatically prints reminders or expediters at the predefined intervals. It also provides you with an up-to-date status of all purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.
    6. Goods Receiving and Inventory Management
Goods Receiving personnel can confirm the receipt of goods simply by entering the Po number. By specifying permissible tolerances, buyers can limit over- and underdeliveries of ordered goods.
    7. Invoice Verification
The system supports the checking and matching of invoices. The accounts payable clerk is notified of quantity and price variances because the system has access to PO and goods receipt data. This speeds the process of auditing and clearing invoices for payment.

    SD Process Flow:
The sales documents you create are individual documents but they can also form part of a chain of inter-related documents. For example, you may record a customer’s telephone inquiry in the system. The customer next requests a quotation, which you then create by referring to the inquiry. The customer later places an order on the basis of the quotation and you create a sales order with reference to the quotation. You ship the goods and bill the customer. After delivery of the goods, the customer claims credit for some damaged goods and you create a free-of-charge delivery with reference to the sales order. The entire chain of documents – the inquiry, the quotation, the sales order, the delivery, the invoice, and the subsequent delivery free of charge – creates a document flow or history. The flow of data from one document into another reduces manual activity and makes problem resolution easier. Inquiry and quotation management in the Sales Information System help you to plan and control your sales.

    Production Planning:
For example, consider a pump manufacturing plant, based on the customer requirement, planning is done for future months ( we plan for a qty on particular
date). Pump is an assembly - were main component would be manufactured in the plant and others would be procured. As PP, we are concerned only in the inhouse
manufacturing but the final assembly (considering BOM) can be done only if the procured components are available. MRP helps in planning the shortage, on
particular date based on the planned date. Work center (ex. lathe) place the components are machined/assembled (were the operation is done). Sequence of
operation is routing (lead time scheduling data is got from routing). In the MRP Run,basic or lead time scheduling (need to know when to start/finish date)
is done. On creation of the production order, system checks for which BOM and routing to be picked up (if there are many routings or BOM for that particular
finished product). Availabilty checks for material,PRT and capacity needs to be done. on release of the order, confirmation of the order can be done (on
completion of the order or after manufacturing the quantities). GI and GR have to be done.PP flow ends here
step 1: creation of master data (Material master,BOM,Work center,Routing)
step 2: Planning - can be done by Planned independent requirement (MD61), Independent requirement (MD81).
we plan for a quantity, on which date (it would be finish date).
step 3: MD04 -stock/requirement lsit (plan made can be viewed in MD04)
step 4: MRP run - MD02, PIR is converted into Planned order
step 5:Planned order to be converted production order - CO40, CO41
step 6: production order to be released - CA02
step 7: confirm the production order (order confirmation-CO15 (after which GI and GR is done)

  • Contract and release order for service: connection and field selection

    Hi Experts,
I have some questions about contract and release order (PO against contarct) for services.
A -I want ot know if there is any standar way to oblige the creation of a release order to a contract. I mean i had some users  that create a release order w/o reference to the contract and it works fine anyway. The document is a copy of the NB. I cant find the way to reference the 2 purchase document clearly.
B - Using a release order, when copying the item from contract catalogue by clicking the service selection icon,  description and net price are correctly copied:  the description is not modifiable  but the net price can be change by the user. Can some body explain me where to modify this setting? where is the field selection and where in SPRO step by step please,
    thanks in advance
    Livio

... Nobody is so nice to suggest me any solution?
For the point A probably the only way is user-exit.... but for B i don't have any idea, please let me know

  • System Type and Release

    Hi Experts,
I am in a bit confusion about 'System Type' and 'Release' while configuring CIF.
kindly go through and explain me.
In the R/3 system the logical system of the APO has to be defined as the target system by assigning the system type and release with the transaction NDV2 and the queue type with the transaction CFC1.
What does it mean by 'System type'?
    What is 'Release' means?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Suvi

    Hi,
System type means for which system you are maintaining whether it is for APO or BASIS.
for CIF it should be SAP_APO (SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer).
and release means which release of APO you are using i.e 5.0 or 5.1 or 4.1 .you can seelct this from F4 help.
You can also refer note  1223963.

  • Syntax difference RdB SQL and RDBMS SQL

    Hi folks,
I tried to find out, but still I couldn't find an answer. Maybe you'll know:
Is there is syntax difference between SQL statements for Oracle RdB and Oracle RDBMS?
The situation is, that we will migrate an application from VB6 to VB.NET. The VB6 version contains sql statements to an Oracle RdB database. The VB.NET version should query on a Oracle RDBMS (10g).
You help is more than welcome!

Shorter than Toon already put it, is not possible ;)

    Linux OEL 6.3
    Oracle 11gR2 EE
The 'C' programmers have 'make', 'Java' programmers have 'ant' and 'maven'. Does anyone know of a similar tool for SQL, a build tool that will maintain dependencies and do automatic builds (to the database)?

People have built Ant and Maven tasks for Oracle SQL and Pl/SQL. For instance, [url http://code.google.com/p/plsqlmaven/]plsqlmaven.

    Hello,
Just a quick question: can we have an official position from Sun regarding support of earlier releases of Solaris with Java RTS 2.1? Our customer is currently running Solaris 10 Update 3 with current Recommended patches, and the 2.1 beta cyclic driver supported this version of Solaris. However with the official release version of 2.1, support for U3 disappeared (only U4 and U5 are now supported). Aside from "rubber stamping" the Solaris build via /etc/release, is there a technical reason why U3 is no longer supported? As long as our kernel is up to date, can we safely use 2.1? Or is it just a case of being unable to officially support and test so many releases of Solaris?
Is this a general rule-of-thumb we can expect in future: only supporting the last 2 updates of Solaris 10?
    Your advice is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

Not at all.  I like good tools, and from everything I read Bridge is marvelous.  I don't have anything against Bridge, I just don't need it.
As a computer engineer, I use my computer for WAY more than just Photoshop.  As such, I do everything I can to have the operating system (via Windows Explorer) integrate things for me.
For example, via right-click or double-click or drag and drop onto icons:
I access my configuration management system from Explorer (Tortoise SubVersion).
I do searches (grepWin) from Explorer.
I compare things (Beyond Compare) from Explorer.
I start Photoshop and other image tools on raw and processed image files I manage with Explorer.
I start my development tools (Visual Studio and a host of utilities) from Explorer (e.g., double click .sln files).
I access my web sites with Explorer (via WebDrive).
I get file paths from Explorer (right click, Send to Clipboard as Name).
I access office management apps from Explorer (e.g., double click .doc or .xls files).
This is an abbreviated list.  Explorer can be a VERY powerful integrator, and is at the center of my computing world at a higher level.  So now you can start to imagine why I prefer Explorer for image work.

  • ANN: New XDK release for 9.0.2B and 9.0.1.1.0A available

New XDK Releases for 9.0.2B Beta Version and 9.0.1.1.0A Procudtion Version are online at:
    http://technet.oracle.com/tech/xml/xdkhome.html
    What's new:
    - Oracle9i XDK for C and C++ released on Linux
    - Oracle TransX Utility Aids loading data and text. These release is part of the XDK for Java 9.0.2 Beta.
    - Oracle SOAP APIs added to the XDK for Java
Support for the SOAP services have been added to the XDK for Java 9.0.1.1.0A Production.
    - XML Schema Processor for Java supports both LAX Mode and STRICT Mode Validation
The XML Schema Processor for Java now supports both LAX Mode and STRICT
Mode Validation. Compared with STRICT Mode where every element from the root on down is required to be defined and validated, LAX Mode Schema validation provides developers the ability to limit the XML Schema
validation to the subsections of the XML document.
This will simplify XML Schema definitions and the validation process by skipping the ignorable content. Furthermore, with LAX mode, developers can divide their XML documents into small fragments and carry out the XML Schema validation in a parallel or progressive way. This results, in a much more flexible and productive schema validation process.
    - SAX2 Extension support in the Java XML Parser
The XML Parser for Java now supports two new handlers - LexicalHandler and DeclHandler.
XML documents now can be parsed through Oracle XML Parser SAX APIs with full access
to the DTD declarations and the lexical items like comments and CDATA sections.
This ensures that the complete content model is preserved.
    - JAXP 1.1 supports is now added to the XDK for Java
    - New Differ Bean in the XDK for JavaBeans
A new bean has been added the the JavaBean XDK which analyses the differences between to XML documents and outputs the XSL sytlesheet that will convert one into the
other. This is extremely useful when converting an XML document retrieved from a SQL query into an xHTML page on the web.
Stylesheets can now be automaticly created for use in XSQL pages.
    - XML Compression now supported in the Java XML Parser
Now developers can take advantage of a compressed XML stream when serializing their DOM and SAX outputs. This new functionality significantly reduces the size without losing any information. Both DOM and SAX compressed streams are fully compatible and the SAX stream can be used to generate a
corresponding DOM tree. These compressed streams can also be stored in Oracle as a CLOB for efficient storage and retrieval.

    bump up for east cost.

I strongly agree with you Donald. Most other vendors kit will support this feature. The ability to add/remove dialed digits for things like carrier LCR would also be very useful on top of automatic route selection(ARS).
    For example,
    End user dials 9 01392XXXXXXXX
But the PBX actually sends to carrier 162 01392XXXXXXXX
(162 is the access code recognised by BT for Energis LCR)

    Randy,
Thank you for getting back to me - much appreciated.
This is why I think it's a bug. Time is set correctly as well as the time zone, but the system still won't transition from night to day. Perhaps you can duplicate my scenario in your enviornment -I have a unique customer requirement for this feature which may be triggering this issue (but nevertheless I still feel it's a bug becuase it's not behaving as expected) The customer needs to be 'day' 24x7 except for Thursdays between 8:30am-4:30pm where this is 'night'. In order to test this configuration functionality I set the current day (in this case it was Saturday 9/16) to be 'night'. What I found that it did indeed set the mode to 'night' - however when I reverted back to the desired schedule (turned Saturday back to 'day' the night mode wouldn't switch back, even though I set back Saturday to be 'day'. If I disabled night/day mode it would go back to day, but when I put it back to the day/nigh schedule (with the desired schedule) - it would go back to 'night' mode incorrectly as Saturday was scheduled as 'day'. I then enabled the force night button on one of the phones which (correct me if I'm wrong) should allow me to toggle the modes. In corresponding with the mode, the phone button indicated amber, but when I pressed it it would turn green, but the Status -> Devices would still show that 'night' mode was still on. I also confirmed that it wasn't an error in display, when it was in 'night' mode it would behave as such with the corresponding call routing rules in place.
I hope this makes sense - I would welcome you to take a look at the system but I need to arrange this with my customer.
    Regards,
    Ed Tsai
