Annoying graphics with non-working download section

All the hype in the world...like the current banner proclaiming your "victory" at Tom's Hardware...doesn't do any good when existing customers can't get to your download site...which has been acting like this since about 10 AM EST...

Sorry...I was looking for the manual for my Hermes 645GV. Unfortunately, my hardcopy orginal seems to have nested somewhere in a rather hidden spot...
When I can actually get to the download spot, and I don't get the above sql errors (like I'm getting again as of this writing...) the manual is a 0KB file, and clicking on the link gives a not found error...
I do appreciate the help your giving me here...with my "deadboard" Hermes...

Can the webmaster fix mozilla's web site so that users don't end up with non working 32bit version of firefox on their 64 bit Linux (see bug #723487)?

I've been subsribed to bug #723487 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=723487) for a year and a half, and I identified a problem in the way mozilla's site delivers the linux version of firefox almost a year and a half ago, but for reasons unknown to me, no one bothered to address this problem.
Other, properly built web sites that deliver binary software packages for linux, can successfully recognise if the user downloading firefox is using a 32bit or 64bit Linux distribution, and offer the appropriate version. Try www.libreoffice.org if you think that my claims are false.
But this somehow doesn't work with mozillas website, the website recognizes that the user's operating system is Linux, but doesn't try to figure out if it's a 32bit or 64bit linux, so the users end up with 32bit builds of firefox by default, which then don't work on their 64bit sytems.
The problem is even more intensified due to the rather stupid naming convention used by mozilla - both the 32 and the 64 bit versions are simply named identicaly - for instance firefox-29.0b6.tar.bz2 for the 29 beta 6 version. Other sane software producers (libreoffice, nvidia, qt-project) names their binary packages with different names (eg. the "x86" string is used for the 32bit version, "x64" for the 64bit version) so that the users don't end up trying to use (unsucsesfully; getting a cryptic error message) the wrong version. But in mozilla's case we end up with a lot of confused users filing bug reports, like the bug I mentioned above.
So to rephrase my question - is someone willing to do something about this (the QA Mentor who commented in bug #723487 has so far proven to be completely useless)?

Frozen iPod touch with non-working lock button.

I have an hp pavilion laptop with non working usb ports

I just called HP to order a replacement OS cd so I can restore this computer -- I've tried everything else to no avail! I was just told by the hp technician that an HP laptop that is not yet 5 years old that I paid nearly $800 for is GARBAGE! He actually indicated I should throw it away!!
I have no words to sufficiently express my disappointment. I will never buy another HP product.

The DV6000 series was very prone to motherboard failures of all kinds, it might be time for an upgrade.

Providing archlinux ISO with Xorg in Download section

Providing an archlinux ISO with Xorg and a simple DE would be a good addition to the current cli-only ISO. Having the option to view a web browser and multiple terminals next to each other would be appreciated by most. This improves the usability of archiso while installing or reparing, especially when you need to read the wiki.
This is not a suggestion to add any kind of installer.
To keep the old behaviour at startup, i suggest that Xorg is not started by default, and can be started with startx.
To make this ISO all that is needed is adding a few packages to a new profile based on releng, for example
xf86-video-vesa
xf86-video-ati
xf86-video-intel
xf86-video-nouveau
xf86-video-nv
xorg-server
xfce4
gparted
xf86-input-synaptics
mesa
midori
and to add the .xinitrc file
exec startxfce4
The size of this ISO is 900MB but can probably trimmed down by not including the whole xfce4 group. The old minimal archiso should be kept as an option for people how would rather download 600MB than 900MB.
Of course you can build this for yourself, but the point of this suggestion is to make it available on the arch website for everyone.

Erasing ipad 2 with non-working digitizer.

The digitizer is kaput on my iPad 2, as well as a few other problems, and I'd like to sell the unit for parts, but, how do I completely erase personal information if I can't see the desktop? When I plug the iPad into my MacBook I can see some of the content on the laptop screen but nothing that I can use erase everything.

Not sure what you mean by you can see some of the content, but all that you need to see when the devict is connected to iTunes is the Restore button. If you can click on that, you can restore to factory settings to erase it.
If not, then using Find my iPhone should work. Log into iCloud.com your Mac, and erase it that way as suggested above.

Where is a working download link for CS5?

I have a serial/license for Adobe CS5 Design Master Collection that was bought I have a new computer would like to install this software through a downloadable file. When i check the Adobe website, there is nothing listed with a working download link.I get:

Followed all suggestions to repair downloads - none worked, though temporary success with uninstalling and re-installing firefox.

Using yahoo email on hp laptop. Firefox has worked fine for ages, but suddenly no downloads possible. I followed all the suggestions on the page in Support, including the reset of Firefox. None worked. I tried uninstalling, turning the computer off, then re-installing, and that worked at first, but now is unrelaiable. I try using small size word docs without graphics. A few days before this happened, I tried to look at a web page which asked me to download latest shockwave player. I repeatedly tried, but although a window showed to say it was done, the program was not findable on my computer. I then repeatedly tried to download a flash player update and that wouldn't work either. Was able to download flash player using Internet Explorer. Don't know if that's connected.

It is possible that anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or is interfering otherwise.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Some pdf & doc files won't download. The "You Have Chosen to Open" pop-up appears but when I hit 'Save File", it goes away and the file is not saved. The corrupted files show up in mac download file as .part but don't show up in ff download file. Tried suggestions in "Firefox keeps opening many tabs or windows" on this website but none worked.

This is most likely Firefox's new "built in" PDF Viewer giving you the trouble.
First, in Firefox, type "about:config" (minus the quotes) in the address bar. This will open the Firefox configuration file. You'll see a warning. Click that you'll be careful, and open the configurer.
At the top there is a search bar. Type "js" (again, minus the quotes).
In the list of results you'll see pdfjsdisabled with a value of "false". Right click it and select Toggle to make it read "true".
Click Firefox>Preferences and under the Applications tab, scroll down to Adobe Acrobat Document. Click the drop down on the right side and choose "Use Adobe Reader (default)".
That should take care of it for you.

Completely frustrated with downloan not working and deleting and attempting to reinstall resulting in three different accounts on my computer and none working.

I downloaded Firefox mobile to my Droid. Connected to computer and followed instructions, using code provided on phone. Did not work. I tried to re-sync phone. It didn't work. I deleted Firefox on phone and reinstalled app. The connected phone to computer to re-sync. Could not get anything to work using"I have an account" tab so opened up another sync account. It didn't work. I deleted app again and tried again and used a third sync account to sync phone with computer. I got nowhere. Completely frustrated with three sync accounts and none working.
Need help to delete all accounts and start over. Can't seem to find a way to do this.

I tried this (opening in Photoshop CS5 and resaving as jpg) as you mention:
The remedy to this problem has usually been to open the image (the one that is having an identity crisis) in Photoshop or another image editor, and simply resave it. You don't need to edit it or rename it or anything--just open and resave.
Re-imported and it does work fix (I get picture1 and picture2 instead of just picture1 for all pictures).
Having said that, I looked at all the file properties I could for:
picture1.jpg (original)
picture1.jpg (resaved in CS5)
To see what changed. All are properties are identical (color depth, pixel size, etc.) except that resaved image is ~20% larger (I saved max file size jpg in CS5).
So original is ~6MB
resaved jpg is ~8MB
So the question - why can't CS5 premiere import these directly (with resaving?) and what is working with the resave that locks up the first time?
These pictures are straight from a Canon 50D, with no editing or resaving - dumped off camera to computer. I can reproduce this error 100% of the time (new project, new folder, import 2 pics) so it isn't something goofy with the way I'm importing - 100% how premiere is handling this.
Very disappointed that I now need to open/resave/rerender each of ~1100 images to simply use them. Given that these jpgs are being produced by a mainstream camera with support image format.
Any thoughts?

Hi, just got off the phone from BT Business. It is the Business 2wire hub that has the issue. The girl from technical talked through a direct modem to Mac connection and my download took 20 minutes. If you are on Fibre broadband this is the only current fix or a new router if non fibre customer. Hope that helps.

MSI 890FXA-GD70 mobo won't post with two graphics cards (non-crossfire).

As title of topic says, I have a Sapphire 4870x2 graphics card in the PCIE 1 slot and in the #3 slot I have an ASUS geforce 9600gt passively cooled inserted. When powering on, no monitor signal. With either card in ANY of the slots alone, the motherboard will post as intended. I also cleared CMOS before using both and either together. This is somewhat frustrating as I would absolutely love to use the geforce 9600gt as a physx card in many of the games I play. Any advice on this one?

There are registry hacks available to make physx work with non-nvidia-primary graphics (ati) if you have an eligible graphics chip on-board. I fixed the issue now. Apparently, BIOS needed to know which graphics card was the primary - so by leaving the4870x2 connected first and connecting the 9600gt after (have a 120mm fan attached to the side of it with cable zip ties) things work as intended. So yeah, i'll get those registry hacks working and physx going on this rig. And please, if you're absolutely certain what you're saying say it. Otherwise, please do some research before telling me what I can and can't do.

I scoured the web looking everywhere for a solution to this.

OSX 8.5 with Work@Home DVD media for CS6
I followed instructions to run 3rd party cleaner software
I tried the adobe removal tool
removing all copies of adobe software manually
installing from a new account, safe mode, plist everything suggested that i found did not work.
A colleague suggested that removing the below folder would allow the installation:
/Library/Application Supports/Adobe
They turned out to be correct, so i am passing this on, because this took far too many hours of my time.
