Annoying Ipod Synching Problem!!!- Laptop Crash- Now On Another Comp

I Have a Very Annoying and frustrating Problem with my Ipod Classic (80GB). Recently my laptop Crashed and i got all the music onto my main computer now. The Problem now is getting the music onto my ipod. I Synched it to the computer, Therefore It erases my music from the ipod and synchs it to new itunes. But everytime i try to get the music onto the ipod it either, connects them disconnects, Has a Unkown error Or when i've Waited for ages getting all the music on to it, It says A required file is missing and so your ipod cannot be Syched AND i end up with nothing on the ipod and lots of wasted time
Someone Plz Help.
I reset my ipod and tried it in CD mode but it still didn't work!

I'm curious about this point. Is there any flash of a blue screen at any point here? (That's a more familiar sort of thing to be seeing prior to the system doing a restart after a serious error.)

You may be able to redownload your iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
BTW, did you sync to the laptop before? Yu can only sync to one iTunes library. If you sync to to another library the iPod will be eerased and it contents replace with what is in the iTunes library on the computer.

Laptop crash, now trying to install CS3 on another computer

Hi there. I had Creative Suite 3 registered on a laptop and desktop. Well, my laptop crashed and died, and now I'd like to put that registration of CS3 on a new computer. However, it won't let me install it because it was never deactivated or uninstalled on that old laptop. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for any advice you may have.

Installation has nothing at all to do with registration or activation.
So, please back up and tell us exactly where the problem is. Is the software installing but failing to activate?

Complicated Ipod synching problem

The most basic part of my problem is that my podcasts don't exist on my ipod. While they may be listed on my computer they do not transfer over, and when I hit the "podcasts" button it's completely blank as if none exist. Please stick with me and help me out, I know this is going to be complicated but I am at my wit's end with this. So let me tell you how this problem started so that you've got the background info...
I have a dell computer with a 30 gb hardrive computer. I got an external storage drive and thought it would be much better to tranfer all of my songs over to the external hardrive so that it would free up some space. So I transfered my itunes music folder over and checked my itunes. All my songs were still there, so I thought it was alright. Originally I wanted to delete the music folder and see if they were still there, but it was too big for the recycle bin, so I was forced to just delete it.
About a week later I discovered that about 300 songs were missing (out of approximately 500). I thought maybe it was from moving over the music folder, but I couldn't find any rhyme or reason to which files were missing. I had one video podcast, songs that I had tranfered over from my music folder (which used to be in windows media player format) and songs that I had uploaded with itunes. Now, I am not sure 100% if these disapeared at the initial transfer or not because I was pretty sure that they were all there after I transfered them, but a week later they were gone and so I'm not so confident if I just missed them or not. Although, I am pretty well sure that they were there after transfering the songs to the external drive.
To recover my songs, I made my Ipod a writable hardware and copied the songs back over to the real drive. Therefore, I had my old library back. But the podcasts are missing. So I thought that maybe it was because I needed to download the new itunes version. That turned into uninstalling the one I had initially installed, reloading it from the disc I got with the Ipod, and from there downloading the new version. The problem with that is that now I can't put certain songs on my ipod. It tells me that "some were not copied because software is too old. Go to summary tab and click update." So I go and click update and it tells me that I can't because the ipod is in use by some other application. The version it wants me to update is version 1.2. I don't know how it could be in use by some other application.
So the short and sweet is how do I get my podcasts on to my ipod, how do I update it to version 1.2 and is it possible to transfer my itunes folder over to my external hardrive and have it function from there? If so how do I do it so that I don't have the same problem again.
Please help me out on this. Even if you can't give me a definte answer I really, really appreciate you taking your time to review it. My ipod's practically frozen in time the way it is now.

is the update savec on your external hard drive or on your ipod? if so that is why it is saying that it is being used (the same exact hting happened to me when i tried to update to 1.2) i spent 6 hours trying to figure out how to update it without telling me that it is being used by another application, in the end, i had to delete everything on my computer that had to do wiht my ipod or itunes (make sure you do it through the add/remove programs in the control panel) then reinstalling everything and DO NOT UPDATE ITUNES!!!!!!! that is what was screwing mine up for some reason, my ipod updated just fine after that.

IPhone 6 video synch problem/laptop HD storage

I tried to synch my iPhone last night to my laptop. It kept telling me that there are videos that couldnt be synched because the format wasnt supported, only the videos are all from iPhones. So it continued with the synch and then It said there wasn't enough storage on the HD. So I tried to verify the disk and it wouldn't complete the action. It said I had to restart and press Command + R to try and fix it.... only nothing happened. It wouldn't allow me to do anything. It says that my HD is full of "Other files" but I can't get to the disk utility screen to try and fix it as it suggests.
And now there are 59 videos that are blank on my iPhone. Did i loose those videos?

Ipod Synching Problem

Ok so first time i realized something was wrong with my 120 GB ipod classic/video was when the ipod no longer connected or when i did connect the entire itunes would freeze. After i asked around with my tech savvy friends, they all told me to replug it in and hit restore. After i hit restored a variety of problems occured. First problem, the itunes froze again. so i unplugged my ipod from the computer. My ipod showed that i still had all my music titles in it but the music doesnt play. The second problem, was when i tried to resync to another computer, it "erased" everything and synced to that computer. Only instead of syncing to the computer it froze that computer's itunes. When i replugged it into the original computer, only 26 of my 3000 something songs made it onto my ipod before it automatically ejected itself. So the last problem now, is the computer no longer recognizes my ipod and when i plug it in, it will stay connected for a couple seconds then it automatically ejects itself. I restarted the computer, but then somehow instead of 26 songs i now have 88. I also did the whole update port thing in the device manager. Help?

Extremely annoying iPod Touch problem

Hello, I have the iPod Touch 3g 64gb version and have run into an annoying problem recently.
Well, first, let me say that I love having my music organized in iTunes. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. I make sure every single artist, album, and song is spelled correctly and is in the right place. Also, the album art..that's what my problem is.
Recently, when I'm looking at albums on my iPod, for some reason the album art is all screwed up; the artwork is switched between different artists and albums for no reason whatsoever. I tried deleting the artwork, then copying and pasting the artwork into the song file, yet it still gets jumbled up. Plus, the problem is starting to get worse, with more and more albums getting mixed up.
Also, sometimes when I view the cover flow, the artwork changes when I select the album, and the thumbnails are sometimes different when viewing the album when I select an artist.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any solution? I would appreciate any help, thanks.

There might be some corruption there. I've heard of these album art malfunctions before. Your best bet is a restore. If it's a software issue, that will always deal with it. First though, check you iTunes song and zoom out of the album art for each individual song. You may see 2 or more covers assigned to that song which may be the source of the problem. If that's the case, delete the extraneous covers.

IPod touch apps are crashing now

Ever since I updated my 2nd gen ipod touch to software version 4.2.1, almost every app that I purchase crashes, and apps that I have had for a long time and have never crashed before are now crashing. Is this a bug in the new software version? Can it be fixed?
Other info: my iPod is a 16gig, and according to the "About" section under "settings", it has 2.8 gigs of open space. My computer runs on Windows XP, and I am pretty sure I have the latest version of iTunes.

Ipod synch problem

Having trouble synching ipod with itunes. Windows 7 recognizes ipod as storage device, but itunes won't recognize. I've tried reinstalling itunes and tried restarting the ipod. Plz help.

Here is what I am working with, 30 GB , 5th gen Video iPod with Itunes 7.6.2.9
Problem:
I have had my Sony Vaio laptop with Vista for a couple of months and it had been humming along just fine with my 30GB Video iPod. After loading some new pics via Itunes recently I noticed that the capacity used information in the About section of the iPod was incorrect, my iPod was showing 1gig left, and I only have 500 songs, 600 photos, 3 videos and some podcasts loaded. Itunes showed I had plenty of space left so that contradicted what the Ipod reflected. So after some googling I found that the recommended solution was to restore your iPod and reload all your music back via Itunes. Little did I know that trying to solve that little problem would create a far greater one.
First using an external hard drive (Western Digital) I backed up all of my music from Itunes. I then started the restore process via Itunes, during the restore my computer hung and froze. Then my computer crashed and rebooted. When it came back up I plugged the iPod back into the USB to complete the restore, this time however my laptop did not recognize my iPod (note, it is empty, with no music since I did the restore). Instead my system assigned it a drive letter G: in the my computer section. A message box pops up asking if I want to scan and check or skip this new drive, it also says scan is recommended. I selected the scan and it checked the Ipod with no problems. If I elect not to scan the iPod then the computer will crash within 30 seconds. After it scans it appear s as if it is going to synch up, iPod says ‘do not disconnect’, then bam, computer crashes and reboots with the black screen. I tried various troubleshooting steps and each time when plugging the iPod in Itunes it starts up and it takes maybe 1 minute trying to recognize it when the computer crashes and reboots automatically going to the black screen and doing a file dump. It seems that no matter what I do Itunes does not recognize the iPod, the system sees it as a mass storage device, hence I am unable to complete the restore.
To troubleshoot I have done the following without any luck:
- Removed Itunes (3x, using different versions) and reinstalled it, tried again
to restore nothing, still crashing
- Removed and reinstalled Quicktime as stand alone, still same thing. Note: for some reason on Vista you have to have Quicktime installed separate as stand alone and not select the automatic bundle version that comes with Itunes otherwise you will get a separate error that won’t allow you to open Itunes and it will say it’s corrupt. I spent hours on just this problem.
- Downgraded my Itunes to an older version. Same problem.
- Upgraded ITunes to the latest and greatest, 7.6.2.9, nada.
- Reformatted my ipod at the command line, so as to bypass my computer from doing it, plugged it back in, this time it went a little longer before it crashed when Itunes came up.
- Downloaded and installed all the latest Vista patches and fixes.
- Downloaded and installed the latest Sony patches and fixes.
- Re-assigned the drive letter on my Ipod, changed it to “Ipod”, “P”, and lastly “Q”, still shows up on my system as that drive letter, then Ipod. Another time it showed up just as drive letter, and “mass storage device”. Still Itunes is not recognizing it.
- Plugged the iPod into different USB ports, 3 different ones, still same.
- Checked each USB port, a sound does come on for each port when either plugging in the Ipod or another device, all ports recognize when a device is plugged in.
- Made sure no other devices are plugged into the USB ports.
- Disabled every single USB port via Device Manager, then plugged in Ipod, at that point it didn’t even recognize it.
- Disabled every single USB port, except for 1, then plugged in Ipod, recognized in computer but not Itunes, then Itunes tries to recognize it, during that time my computer crashes and reboots
- Disabled and reenabled every single USB port, then tried. Ipod is recognized in device manager but not Itunes. Ipod shows message “do not disconnect” for awhile, seems like its working… then bam, my laptop crashes. By the way, Itunes does come up and all my music is there.
I also did this:
Reset the iPod using these steps:
- Disconnect iPod.
- Make sure the 'hold' switch is not on.
- Press and hold the 'menu' and 'select' (circle) buttons simultaneously.
- Keep holding them both down for at least five seconds.
- The iPod displays the apple logo and properly resets.
In summary, I have spent over 30 hours working on this problem. Bottom line is Vista is assigning a lettered drive to the iPod thinking it is a mass storage device, hence it is not being recognized in Itunes enabling it to complete the restore. To complicate matters before you can do much troubleshooting the *laptop crashes and reboots within 3 minutes of plugging the iPod into any of the USB ports.* !!!
This is just utterly insane, don't know what else to do. For starters stopping my laptop from crashing everytime it is plugged in would be nice !

Alright, so my ipod touch stopped working, but I can still connect it to itunes, but my friend gave me his old nano. I was wondering how I could get my more updated songs from my ipod touch onto the shuffle. My laptop crashed whish had all my new music

All you have to do is connect your new iPod to the computer that has the library for your old iPod.
When iTunes comes up, click on your new iPod under Devices.
At the top of the Summary Page click Music.
Click Synch Music.
Do the same thing for Photos, Apps, Movies and so on...
Now just synch the iPod.

My old laptop screen crashed and it wont display anything. Fixing it is expensive so i decided to buy a new laptop instead

Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My old laptop crashed, how do I get music and pictures from ipod touch (2nd generation) to new laptop?

My old laptop crashed. I bought a new one, but when I loaded itunes and plugged in my ipad 2, it only added the songs that were purchased in the itunes store. I upgraded my os to 5.0 and it deleted all of my songs, a lot of my apps, and all of my pictures except for the ones on the camera roll. I have these pictures and songs on my itouch 2nd generation but I can't get it to synch with the new computer. All of the solutions I have seen online don't work. I can't upgrade to the newest operating system because it is only 2nd generation. I tried turning on Home sharing and saving to the cloud, but I can't get it to work on the itouch. Please help!
