Another funeral for an ipod? IPODS ARE A BRIGHT IDEA BUT SHI

So i was sitting in the caf doing my homework like usual before class, friends showed up so i turned it off like normal or put it in "sleep" and then put it away in my pocket...come second period i go to put it on, and nothing works...i have tried resetting it and everything, my mac wont even recognize...sine i have looked up unless someone knows what to do ill just head back to Light Computer Centre tommorow (mac store in hamilton) and get them to look at it...anyone have any pointers tho??/

You don't need two separate libraries to manage two devices.
I suspect the reason that the apps are appearing in both libraries is that you have enabled automatic downloads in iTunes and automatic syncing of apps so that all your purchases end up in both libraries, defeating your original aim.
Why not use a single library and make playlists for the media content you want on each device? Disable Settings > Store > Automatic Downloads > Apps on each device, then connect each device in turn and turn off Automatically Sync Apps on the Apps page.
You can now manage your devices independently, while only having to manage the content of one iTunes library, instead of two.

No. If it states designed for both iPad and iPhone, then it won't run on an iPod touch.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
You can add an alias but not a second email address to your iCloud account. You can however add a second iCloud account to your iOS device (which will come with its own email address) at settings> mail, contacts calendars.

  • ANOTHER FIX FOR UNRECOGNIZED IPODS WITH COMPUTER FREEZES

Wonder of wonders, Apple has actually done something about this problem.
Here's what they told us to do:
    1. Download the latest version of iTunes FROM THE WEBSITE. It's version 6.0.1.3.
    2. Back up your music just to be safe.
    3. Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, and uninstall iTunes.
    4. Restart the computer.
    5. Install the new version of iTunes.
    6. Restart again.
    7. Do a little happy dance of joy, as (hopefully) your iPod works now!
Tips that we have found to get things working:
-Always close iTunes before plugging in the iPod. Let iPod open iTunes on its own.
-It will be slow. Be patient.
    Hope this helps everyone!

P.S. Keep the iPod unplugged from the computer during this process. Plug it back in once you've verified that the new iTunes version is installed, and you've closed it.

  • Cases and Accessories for 5G iPods

Ok, so ever since I purchased my Black 60GB iPod I started reading about how easily it scratched and realized I needed to get a case for it immediately. I was also surprised to discover that my old iTrip and other top docking accessories no longer worked with the 5G iPods. So I began to research my options for cases and accessories, and here's what I came across:
This is a silicone case from zCover that seems to be the only 5G specific case that is available and shipping now.
    http://www.zcover.com/zCoverProduct_iPod_G5Original.htm
Here are 6 different options for cases offered by Speck sometime in mid-November.
    http://www.speckproducts.com/for-video.html
Tunewear has several different options available for the 5G's. The silicone case (ICEWEAR 5G) can be found here: http://www.tunewear.com/english/product/icewear_5g/index.html
The wallet-sized leather case (PRIE TUNEWALLET 5G) can be found here: http://www.tunewear.com/english/product/tunewallet_5g/
And finally the leather case with belt clip and hook (PRIE Ambassador) can be found here: http://www.tunewear.com/english/product/ambassadoripod5g/index.html
All of these cases are shipping sometime in November and all come included with Tunewear's TUNEFILM 5G which can also be purchased separately, found here: http://www.tunewear.com/english/product/tunefilm_5g/index.html
Another leather case option is being offered by difusi. Here is their VideoValet case, stated to be shipping sometime this week: http://www.difusi.tv/hardware/casemini/videovalet.html
Since most of these cases haven't been released yet, I decided to fashion my own case for the time being. This option will probably only work for those of you who purchased the 60 GB iPods, because the 30GB 5G's are significantly thinner than their 20GB and 30GB 3G and 4G counterparts. But anyway, I purchased a cheap silicone case for a 20GB iPod from Best Buy (you can probably find one anywhere that sells iPod accessories for around $10-$15) and a pack of PDA screen protectors. Since the height and width of the new iPods are exactly the same (the thickness or depth of the new 60GB is close enough to the 20GB and 30GB 4G's) and the click wheel and dock connector seem to be in the same place, it was only the screen size that needed to be adjusted. So I cut the case to make the entire screen visible, used a small amount of heat with a lighter to melt the cut edges firm, and then cut a screen protector to fit. This is a crude option, but it has worked for me so far and I don't have a scratch on it yet.
As for other accessories available, allabouttheaccessories.com has nearly all accessories that are currently available and compatible with the 5G video capable iPods listed here: http://www.allabouttheaccessories.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=193
As most of you know, the current incarnations of Griffin's t fit in the older case. Obviously the edges of the iTrip, perhaps the most popular FM transmitter for the iPod, are not compatible with the new 5G iPods. For some reason, Apple did away with the external power port on top of the new iPods, and therefore it is unlikely that there will be any accessories, including iTrip, iTalk, remotes, etc. that will dock on top of the iPod. Instead, most will use the dock connector port on the bottom of the iPod, which isn't all bad and actually offers some benefits. Griffin's new iTrip that will use this port can be found here: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip30/techspecs.php And with a simple mini USB to standard USB cable, you can charge your iPod using a number of car chargers that use the USB cable (including Griffin's PowerJolt of course).
Anyway, hope this post helps those of you searching for new stuff for your 5G iPods. Despite the criticism I've read, this device is a huge step for iPods and has a ton of potential. Sure there are a few things that need to get worked out, but the bottom line is they've added all t

  • Need new case for 30GB iPod

Simple question, really, but I can't seem to find the answer. Will 5th gen 30GB iPods fit into Classic cases? I'm looking for a pink case for my wife and can't find one with all the new series of iPods except Classic cases.
    Thanks for any help
    Steve

    Interesting you ask....
Earlier tonight, I was at the Apple Store, my wife wanted a particular case for her 5th Gen 80GB, so, I got the incase leather sleeve...it fit ad was a nice fit, real snug, but, the downfall was that it's designed for the Classic models. The Retail stores only sell for the classics now. Any older products you must turn elsewhere. Anyhow....The case fits but it was just a tad too snug for her.
My best advice....take the iPod to the store, they'll let you open and try out any case you'd like, and if it isn't to your liking, don't buy it.
They seem to fit OK, but the Classic iPods are a hair smaller, but you might be OK with the 30GB.
If you do happen to try it out, let us know how it goes.

  • Aftermartket Accessaries for 5G Ipod

Since the accessaries manufactured for 5G Ipod are limited, it might be a good idea to list those made for previous generation Ipod but compatible with 5G, here is some I can name:
    -Car Cassette Adaptor
    -USB Docking cable
    -Auto power adaptor/cable
    Anything else?

Personally I would love to see the FM tuner made for the iPog5G. I saw one for the mini that just attached itself right on top which was nice, and I saw on for the ipod but it was with a wire which made no sense to me... so yeah I would like to see probably an fm tuner that you can tune using the click wheel...
I was gonna go get the iAudio X5 but I've used a joystick before when I first got an mp3 player on the iRiver flash players and omg it was so frustrating to use... So yeah in conclusion...
    fm tuner for ipod... lol

  • My Ipod has been stolen and I need to get the seriel number for the ipod that was linked to my itunes, it was an 7th gen nano

Does anybody know how to find the seriel number for my ipod Nano that got stolen, But to find it through Itunes because it was added and synced with my account

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing without a court order

My daughter forgot her passcode for her iPod touch. Any ideas ?

Well if she backs up her iPod regularly, she is in luck. You can restore the iPod, then choose a backup to use after it is done restoring. Information on doing this is available here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
    Hope this helped!

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, if you would like help then you will need to provide info as to what happens when you try to buy them e.g. does the 'buy' button not work ? Are you get any error messages ... ?
If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them why the message is appearing (we won't know why) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
