Another iTunes problem

My Ipod mini will connect no probs, but iTunes 8 just will not pick up my iPhone 3G. My office computer will, but not my home one (which it was originally synced with). I ran diagnostics and this is the result:

Any ideas? As I've tried all the steps apple suggest and none of them work. I've also tried resetting a few times with iTunes running to see if it'll pick it up, but no joy.

I already have the latest iTunes and have tried all the steps above. Have uninstalled and re-installed the most recent iTunes, cleared temp cache, cleared registry, run ccleaner, rebooted PC and iPhone, installed latest update on iPhone from other PC, and stopped and re-started both Apple Mobile Device and iPod service. What's weird is that it recognises my old iPod mini, but not the iPhone, and what's even weirder is that this only happened recently - it always used to recognise it! Running out of options now...

You need to select the "Manage My Account" link and not the "Reset Your Password" link. Once you use the "Manage My Account" it will ask you to log in and in there you should see which email addresses are verified.

I recently just had to re-install snow leopard on my imac. Thankfully I backed up all my music and re-imported everything from my old install to this one. However, when I go to sync my iPhone 4 I get the message that reads:
"The iPhone is already synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and synch with this iTunes library?"
It warns that doing so will erase my current iphone and replace the contents of it with the contents in my new iTunes library.
I manage to back up photo in iPhoto, using iTune I Back up using control click mouse and get the back up button, but when I search my computer for the backup it cannot find it anywhere!!!!I I'm afraid to sync in fear of losing all my images and app data. want all mytext and other things to be safe

After transferring my music from one PC to another ITunes wont let me add music to my iPhone, why?

iTunes wants to delete all my music on my iPhone and replace it. That includes playlists I have created. I have authorized my iPhone 4 for use on the new computer. Why is this process so painful? how can I stop this process from occurring and why can't after authorization can I not just carry on as I did on my old PC? Thank you for any assistance.

May be asking the obvious here - but on your new pc, whenyou have installed iTunes - do you have the exact same playlist in your new pc iTunes library? It may simply be that your iphone is synched with "another" iTunes Library and doesnt recognise the new pc iTunes library - ...if you have the exact same library and playlist in the new pc this should not be a problem. However, if you want to extract all your playlists/ music etc from your phone to be loaded into your new library - or even as a backup just in case, use free software from www.getshareipod.com - its absolutely brilliant for ripping your content out of a phone/ ipod for you to copy to other devices or import back into a new iTunes library...have used it to extract 2Gb of music out of an old iPod for consolidation into my new iTunes library....Good luck!!

Syncing with another Itunes library without erasing my burned CDs

Installed Itunes on my second computer. When I dock the Ipod shuffle a message appears:
"the ipod "------'s ipod is synced with another itunes library. do you want to erase this ipod and sync with this i tunes library? an ipod can be synced with only one itunes library at a time. erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this ipod with the contents of this itunes library"
press "erase and sync" or "cancel"
my problem: i don't want my ipod shuffle's contents erased because i have a lot of contents from cds i burned. these songs from the cds are not in the library! but they're all in the library of the other computer. now i can't even buy songs because ipod is not synced. please help!

Is there a way to dock a 2nd gen ipod shuffle with another PC without erasing and syncing with the new PC? I want to be able to sync my ipod with my home PC and then be able to plug it in at work and view the tracks on the shuffle. I don't want to erase anything, just view the tracks in Itunes on the 2nd PC. Is there a way to do this?

I'm looking at this error message while trying to sync my iPhone4 with iTunes on a new user account on a Windows 7 machine:
This iPhone is synced with another itunes library.
Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?
An iPhone can only be associated with one library at a time.
I don't want to erase and sync with THIS library because its a new install of iTunes and the library is blank.
When I first sync'd this iPhone 4 with this computer - every user's music went into one library. I'm assuming that THAT is the other iTunes library that's causing the problem.
But now I have a separate Windows account and want my iTunes library separated so that I can sync with only my stuff.
How do I do this?

I have an iPhone 3GS and have never added any music to the device as I had an iPod. The iPhone and iPod are hooked up to the same computer and same iTunes account. I'm having the same problem after upgrading my iPhone 3Gs to iOS 5 (and upgrading iTunes to 10.5). I noticed after doing this the ring tone I was using for incoming calls was no longer on the phone. Before the upgrade I was syncing ringtones with iTunes without problems. My contacts and apps still still sync as before, but when I try to enable syncing for ring tones in iTunes, I get the message reported at the beginning of this thread. Any risk of losing anything if I go ahead and enable ring tone syncing? The message is definitely misleading.

I have been able to sync my apps with no problem its just the other itunes stuff...
Pls can somebody tell me - if I choose the option to erase and sync, what do I erase? is it just the itunes content ie music, photos, film, apps etc or will I lose all or some other information stored in my phone?

You will get this warning if you change between manually manage and sync.
You can manually manage OR sync. You cannot do both. If you switch between the two, it will erase the current content.

I reacently needed to format my computer. And after the format my I was unable to backup or sync my ihone to itunes.
itunes tells me that my iphone is already synced to another itunes library, and to sync i need to erase everything...
I have tried everything, deauthorising and reauthorising, reinstalling itunes, I tried different computers, but the problem still persists.
I am quite frustrated right now, I contacted apple suport and they were not helpful...

My iTunes thinks that my iPad (first generation) is owned by another iTunes library. It definetely isn't. How do I get rid of this problem without erasing and syncing? And could this be related to the new motherboard and hard drive installed in my system?

Supervision Mode seems to embed itself into the operating system. In Apple Configurator, I had to unassign myself from the iPad. That restarts the iPad. This is something your IT Administrator has to do, but I doubt they will take it out of Supervisor mode as that means the devices can be stolen and used by anyone.

Okay, yesterday i charged my ipod in my mac laptop and this morning my brother pulled it out. then my ipod would turn on and the wire icon just kept appearing on the screen of my ipod. once i put it in my laptop my ipod froze and the only way any songs or any information would appear on it is if i synced it to my laptop itunes library . The problem with this is all my songs were from my cousins itunes library and they all got erased . I tried restoring it but they wont come back. If the missing songs are neither on the laptop or the iPod they are gone. You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library. If you then sync it to another iTunes library the iPod will be erased and it contents replaced with what is in the other iTunes library. However, one can manage music amont multible computers/libraries. See:

Exporting a TV Series to another iTunes library - keeping all tag info?

I have a TV series that I ripped from my DVDs into iTunes.
There are 3 seasons. All artwork, episode numbers, and seasons are grouped nicely and appear in iTunes exactly how they should.
MY QUESTION IS: Does anyone know how to export and import this nicely grouped TV series to another iTunes library on another PC (i.e. from mine to my sisters library) without loosing all metadata/tags etc.
I did this a while ago with another TV series, but I remember that the movie files are automatically imported into the Movies section of iTunes.
I had to painfully go through all the episodes and seasons and re-group them all again and change them to the TV programmes section - took a good hour and half - do not want to do that again!
Any ideas would be greatful...

All file formats are .m4v (mp4) which work fine with iTunes which does support tags and when I have imported to another PC, it still defaults to the Movie section, so the 'TV Show' tag doesn't seem to make a difference.
My only problem is that the meta tags (I'm guessing) are stored within the master iTunes Library.xml file and not the movie files them selves, hence the reason why all movie files default to the movie section.
I thought of creating a Playlist and adding all the seasons of the TV series, exporting that (to XML), then re-importing to other PC.
Of course, the only problem is file paths in the XML point to the real location of the mp4 on my PC, not on the PC I want to export to - meh.
Anyone else have any ideas?

IPad synched with another itunes library

Recently my pc's hard drive died - I've installed a new hard drive but having problems with itunes and the ipad I have.
When I try to connect the two a message comes up stating that my ipad is synched with another itunes library and the options i have are to erase & sync replacing the ipads content with the library's content or transfer itunes store purchases over - my problem is that there are music files on the ipad that i will ose if i follow this way. Is there any way I can copy these files?

Noboers-
One possibility is that you have more than one account on your computer, and previously synced with a different user account. You might log into each account and try again. If that is the reason, one should work.
We can guess at other scenarios that might cause the problem, but the solution may be to go ahead and choose Restore instead of syncing the iPad. You would lose any changes since the last time you synced.
