Any non-public patches for the never patched Adobe Illustrator CS4?

I've been having lots of bugs with CS4 and Illustrator in Javascript. Sometimes AI just locks up, produces a random error unless restarted before trying again, or otherwise has a bug such as the one where in some circumstances the "paste()" command produces an error for some documents unless I put an alert on a line prior to the paste statement.
Since upgrading everyone to CS5 is expensive is there anything I can do when faced with CS4 bugs that will apparently never be patched? Some problems just have no workaround short of quitting AI and restarting it.

Im not a user of this 'at the moment' my combo of intel mac and cs version are the only unsupported one (hey ho)… But you may want to look at the scriptographer plug-in and see if thats of any benefit to you?

"You must have security update 2870699 installed for this Fix it to provide effective protection against this issue."
Question: What happens if this path is installed and 2870699 has not been installed yet?
a: Will not provide effective protection against this issue before 2870699 has been installed - but work fine when it has been installed?
or
b: Will never provide effective protection against this issue if 2870699 is installed after the fix in 2887505.

This fixit is a appcompat shim, performs as a temporary Advanced Workaround to help protect against attempts to exploit this vulnerability. I think
it is recommended to install the two updates in sequence just as described in the KB.

Latest PeopleTools patch for the next PeopleTools only upgrade

Hi All,
Is it mandatory to be in the latest PeopleTools patch for the next PeopleTools only upgrade?
For eaxmple, I am in PT8.50 and I plan to upgarde to PT8.51. Is it mandatory to apply the latest patch(PT 8.50.14 Product Patch) before the PeopleTool upgrade?

Whether it is not mandatory to be on the latest Peopletools patch for a Peopletools version upgrade, you should be on the least recommanded one if any. It is maybe playing on words, but hope you see the difference.

Wher can I find the 8.1.7.2 patch for the Sun OS 5.8

I need to find the patch for the Oracle 8.1.7.0 to take it to 8.1.7.2 and it is running on Sun Solaris 5.8. I have looked through the Oracle site but haven't found anything that looks viable.

Which Oracle site did you try? As far as I know the only place you can get the patches is through Oracle's Metalink( metalink.oracle.com ).

Is there a patch for the NTP security issue that does not require Xcode? I have an older Intel mini that can't be upgraded beyond 10.6.8 and I currently don't have room for Xcode 3.2.5. Has somebody trustworthy posted these binaries?

I have installed the patch for output. it still doesn't work i am running windows 8.1 i have tryed the 32bit patch and the 64bit patch it still will not show up in workspace.

Public Views for the Design Environment

I want to select Information from the Public Views for the Design Environment. I need details from the mappings, but can not found the informations.
I can't found it in all_iv_xform_maps and all_iv_xform_map_components.
I build a mapping and user some Functions in the mapping (Transform Operators). Now I want to select the location Information of such an operator.
In detail I need:
1) Right Click on a mapping
2) click configure
3) collapse Transform Operators
3) collapse a function
4)I need the Information under Location.
Sometimes in my mappings there is "Unkown value" and I want to select from the Public Views for the Design Environment these entries.
Can some one help me?

1.) What do you mean by "start" them? You select from a view just as you would a table. If the view is there and you have permissions, it is available to you. As to where to find them, they are owned by either your repository owner or repository manager user - depending on how you have set things up. But any user registered as an OWB user will have synonyms pointing to the views for the repository to which it is registered.
So, when you have defined a source or target Oracle Schema and registered it as an OWB user, you can simply "select * from all_rt_audit_objects" or whatever else as that user when you want to get information from the views.
2) None of your user-defined tables use these views. These views are pre-packaged select statements against the tables in the OWB repository to make it simpler for you to extract information about your metadata, deployments, and executions of the objects you have created in a given repository. Using a tool like TOAD, Oracle SQL Developer, SQL*Navigator, or whatever other Oracle development tool you use, you should be able to get the source for these views if you want to understand how they are collecting data for you.

Why do Orange and EE blame Apple for the delays in unlocking my iPhone. 10 months now. What is the exact process that these companies have to go through to unlock an iPhone and is Apple in any way to blame for the delays.
Indeed how long does Apple take to carry out its part of the process.
It seems to me that Orange are just trying to stall me despite the fact that I am out of contract with them now. I originally paid to have the phone unlocked back last November. This was never done.
I have phoned them numerous times over the last two months but still they haven't done it. Can anyone advise me and has anyone had similar problems with them.

I certainly understand that only Orange can unlock my phone. My annoyance is that they blame Apple so I am keen to know what exactly is Apple's involvement.
I presume that Orange have to tell Apple that the phone has been authorised for unlocking by Orange and that Apple then notes that in some way on iTunes so that the user can then complete the process on iTunes.
What I would like to know is how much time Apples part in this process takes.
I would also like to make contact with others who have had similar problems.

A shame that Apple removed the power button of their keyboards years ago. So, what I am looking for is something similar to this, but working with the new Macs:
USB Boot Dongle (i-Cue) for Mac
Allows you to work with your G3 or G4 mini tower hidden out of the way
You can have your Mac under the desk, yet it can be easily turned on from the keyboard position. Simply clips on to the Apple Pro Keyboard
Includes 1.8m pass-through USB cable.

To do this, though, it would require that you just
switch off the power to the Mac rather than going
through it's shutdown procedure. Pulling the power on
a running computer may cause all sorts of problems
and should be avoided unless it's absolutely
necessary to do it.
I'd agree with that most certainly - though the old G4 would allow itself to be shut down and then have the remote power switch thrown. I've not had reason to test whether a mini would, or would simply immediately attempt a restart.
Thanks for jumping in though to make that point - it's crucial not to overlook the dangers of improper shutdowns.

From the Safari menu bar click View > Zoom In or press Command + on the keyboard to increase the size of the page.
If that doesn't help, open System Preferences > Accessibilty > Settings then select Zoom on the left.
You can also increase the resolution on the dislplay. System Preferences > Displays > Display > Scaled

You can't do it via USB because USB doesn't provide that function. When the computer is off, there is no power on the USB, so nothing connected to the USB can do anything when the computer is off. Earlier Macs that had this function used a modified USB. Newer Macs use standards USB, probably starting with the introduction of USB 2.0 to the Mac.
Why not put the Mac to sleep, instead of shutting it down? The power consumption is about the same, and you can wake it from the keyboard.
