Any one else been miss-sold products by BT?

I, against my better judgement (following previous expierences with BT), ordered a new private house phone line and broadband package and to cut a long story short I was told something by the Sales Team that, once supplied, turned out to be wrong (a small issue of being told that the 6 end points in the property could all be on the same line - turns out they can't, even though it was checked and confirmed/sold to me that it was). I've complained, on the basis that I was led to believe I was buying one thing to only be given something else, but have been told that it is tough luck and the contract stands (even though the contract I agreed to differs from what has been supplied - and should the original call be played back it would be clearly heard). For a modern day telecommunications company BT do not seem willing to investigate or review? Has anyone else had a similar problem and, if so, did you manage to resolve it? I'm NOT after compensation, I simply want to walk away from BT with a refund (I'll even return the unopened router!) so I'm not out of pocket.
I'd like to take the matter up for Warren Buckley but, for a man happy to put his name on the bottom of new orders, he is very hard to track down. Any one know how I can contact him direct?
As a shareholder in BT I'm even considering asking for a question to be raised at the AGM in, I think, July, simply to bring this issue to light for the board. I know it's a stupidly small issue, but if BT won't at least respond in a professional manner (and either accept they made a mistake or prove me wrong) then why should I.

Why did they say you can't have them?
What they may have said is that any customer provided extension sockets "they" would not connect to "their" network. I believe they may be liable in the future if the sockets or wiring go faulty, however once the main socket has been installed you can connect up the sockets yourself (or an electrician/comms engineer).
You will however would have to have installed by openreach the linebox/NTE type socket like this.

Yes I have the same problem
Started a new hotmail account, have 5 or 6 emails in it in different folders, I could see them in the folders yesterday - today I go to the folders and they are not showing :-(
I've checked by using safari and going into the account and they're there, I've tried deleting the email account from the iPad restarting and creating again - iPad won't load them.
Has anyone got any ideas?
I've also tried changing settings but nothing.

This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

Is any one else having issues with iMessages since iOS7?

Since iOS7 I have been having issues with iMessages. They just stop sending and I have to re-start my iPhone or iPad to get these working again. This is happening to my friends as well on different networks but all on iOS7.
Is any one else having this issue?

They had the same issue with ios 4 when it came out and it was resolved with 4.0.1. Before I start the endless visits to noisy Apple stores, I'm hoping they will issue a fix for this and all the other bugs that are popping up.
Hopefully if enough people bring it up it'll get noticed.

Must have been bad hardware would be my guess. That's the problem with vendors though. Windows really isn't the issue if you have the right hardware. It's like a Mac, really.
The problem is that PC vendors have a tendency to rush their machines out with bad chipsets and a mish-mash of conflicting hardware. Take Vista for example. Besides the fact that it was a resource hog out of the box, there was really nothing wrong with it.
Vendors on the other hand, rushed their PCs out without the proper hardware to run it in order to sell, sell, sell, which is what gave it a bad name. So yeah, people had issues. It also suffered the same issues as Lion and ML right now due to the fact that it wouldn't run on older machines and there was an uproar in the online community--sounds familiar enough to me.
Oddly enough, even macs are running at the same specs as Windows today.
The majority of issues people tend to have is more with their PCs than with Windows and they have a tendency to blame Windows because of this without realising that MS develops software; not hardware (xbox aside). Whereas Apple develops both.
Millenium was terrible though--I won't deny that.
OSX may appear to work better, but that's because everything is designed to work together and we pay a premium for it because of the quality control on the machine. I can't help but feel that Apple takes a little more pride in their machines then PC Vendors do. In fact, Windows probably runs better on my Macbook Pro than it does on my PCs. I use it for very little these days though. I happen to like OSX and I'm addicted to the App Store.
Basically, my whole outlook on the two is that MS is a people pleaser, they try to appeal to everybody and a plethora of PC configurations. It suffers because of this. Apple is a little more arrogant (but in a good way). They stick to their own configurations and don't worry about being everybody's machine. They take pride in their designs and configurations and they succeed because of this. It also allows them to take bolder steps.
Neither is perfect and both have their strengths and weaknesses. Though I feel that Windows is often picked on for the wrong reasons, just as Mac users are often picked on by the PC community. It all boils down to a lack of understanding since Macs don't only appeal to the dumb and Windows does work quite well if you have the right configuration. No insult implied--it's just the common outlook from both communities and it irks me on both sides.

I updated my iPad 4 with the new iOS7 and since then Skype started problem and now email i.e, yahoo as well. I can hear people on Skype but they can't hear me though it was working fine with old version. Is any one else having same problem?

I recently purchased iPad 4 and it is only one month old. I updated with iOS 7 and next day got problem with Skype and yahoo mails. People can't hear me on Skype though I can hear them clearly. I was replying yahoo mails quite nicely and now as I start typing the iPad turns black and have to open it again. Is there any one else facing the same problem? I was thinking to go to apple shop for support? Any suggestions?

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again

Yep, and it still didn't work.
But I figured what I did wrong: I was selecting both the text and the heart, and then I was doing the whole Object>Wrap Text>Make thing, as opposed to just selecting the heart and doing it. Once I did it, I moved the heart around on top of the text, and it "made room" for the pic, wrapping itself around the heart.

I was just told ML could not be installed because apple HD is broken and could not be repaired. I never had any problem ever to suggest a broken HD, on my 2 yr. old mac pro. 10.6.8. Any one else having this problem? Will I get a refund, if so how?

The solution to your problem is rather simple
1: Get a external hard drive and use Disk Utility to format it with a GUID partition map and OS X extended Journaled.
2: Export your browser bookmarks and any other needed data to a file,. Copy your User data folders of Music, Pictures etc over to the external drive via drag and drop copy methods, disconnect the drive.
I don't advise using TimeMachine at this point since your boot drive is messed up, thus so will be your TM drive, just transfering the problem later on back to the new install. We are proceeding with a "Fresh install" method to eliminate as many issues as possible which a TM restore can return to a new OS X install.
3: Next you will need to follow these instructions to zero erase (important) and install 10.6 fresh, use the same named account (different password ok)
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
4: Before you return files or install programs, Software Update fully and use the AppStore to install 10.8, this way it will be on a fresh 10.6 install, free of issues.
5: Install any and all 10.8 compatible programs as much as possible before returning your User files, this is a performance measure.
If you need too, use this site to find one's that are 10.8 compatible.

6: Last install your user files from the external drive backup into their respective Music, Pictures, Movies etc., folders, into the same named accounts so you preserve your iTunes playlists. When you open those programs, they will update their respective support files automatically.

Look under your Start Menu for Apple Software Update, but before doing that, check the time and date on your computer that it's correct.
It's also saying the iTunes Library .XML file in your iTunes Folder file is new, for some reason, but your songs should be still in the iTunes Folder.
You can move the XML file out and restart iTunes and it shoudl creat another, you lose your playlists and have to import all your music again.

Please post a copy of the latest crash report.
Go to your Applications Folder and open your Utilities Folder. Open the application Console.
In the left-hand column, click on Crash Reporter.
Click on the small triangle under Crash Reporter in the l/h column and they will all be listed.
Scroll down to the latest Safari report and click on it.
Now click on the r/h column (which now only shows THAT crash report and then Command-a to copy it all.
Come back here and Command-v it to post it here!

Most Safari problems are due to unsupported plug-ins, add-ons, custom toolbars, or "input manager" software, some of which you may not know you have acquired.
You best bet is to ask in the Safari forums:

Hi there!
Yes, same problem too; I've already sent an email to apple support and just received a very vague and unpractical response with "call apple support in your country" as main advice. I've obviously emailed back stating that I need a clearer response and I don not have any intention to spend money calling for support when updates is a free tool. I do also believe this is a probem generated on Apple's end, I just wish they learned to say "sorry, it's us; working on it!"

Is any one else having problems with the Faebook Messenger app on their iPad 2?

The main issue with the Facebook Messenger app on my iPad 2 is the keyboard. Tends to malfunction unless I reboot the system. For example, the ONLY two keys that work are the "space bar and i/I." Hitting the "backspace" key closes the keyboard. Doesn't happen all the time but most of the time. It's a pain in the *** having to reboot my iPad everytime this crap happens. Any one else have any suggestions? I appreciate any comments, suggestions, feedback, etc.

Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

I have upgrade my iMac to the new OS X Maverick but now my computer is extremely slow and takes longer to open up everything. Has any one else had this issue?

Before even attempting an OS X upgrade, completely remove this serious "crapware" from your system!!!!!
If you do not believe me, do a search in these support forums for MacKeeper and you can see for yourself!
Get rid of it!
See if your system speeds up after completely ridding your system of everything connected to MacKeeper.
