hi can any oneexplain some real time issues in production support
i mean errors these occur frequently and the ways to solve

This is a generic question and numerous possibilities. Main issues will be of the following types
1. data load faillures.
2. data in report does not match with that in the sourse system.
3. report hangs
4. authorization
5. make modifications to the reports and even to the underlying objects like cubes.
6. make new reports
etc etc

Hi Vijay,
BPM is mainly used in senarios where extra functionalities are to be done with the source message which cannot be done using the normal mapping and user-defined functions, like
->Collecting of messages till a certain count or for a specific criteria.
->Merging messages
->Spliting messages
->Processing of error files and sending to specific location and sending alerts.
->Parallel processing of two criterias at the same time can also be done using BPM.

Why is the Real-Time Idea Exchange completely ignored?

Just looked at the LabVIEW Real-Time Idea Exchange and noticed that only one idea is marked completed, and two more (both posted in 2009, nearly 5 years ago) are "In Development." Those ideas aren't even the top-kudoed ones. NI - why ask for ideas for improvements, and then not implement any of them? (Yes, I have a personal interest here - the second-most kudoed idea in the real-time area is one of mine.)

First off let me say thanks to you and all of the Idea Exchange contributors. The whole purpose of the Idea Exchange is for you, the users of the NI Platform, to bring your considerable experience to the table as we continue adding features and functionality to the NI Platform. Your passion is one of the primary forces that causes the NI Platform to grow and change in varous ways so that the application challenges of scientists and engineers all over the world can be solved.
There are many user suggestions across the whole Idea Exchange for us to weigh when considering how to allocate our development resources. We try to judiciously consider which ideas will have the biggest impact on the NI Platform users, and as a result we often have to say "no" or "wait" to some ideas so we can say "yes" to others. You're definitely correct that the statuses need to be updated and I'll be doing so in the near future. Though this may give the impression of being ignored, I want to assure you that the ideas are read and evaluated by the R&D and Product Marketing departments with careful thought and deliberate intent.

Webview not showing real time reports

Hi,
I have a customer with IPCC Enterprise 7.5 and using the Webview for reporting. The Real Time reports are empty although campaigns are running and agents are logged in. The Historical Reports works absolutely fine. I noticed that for the dialer port status report, I had to enable a setting through the registry, according to the following document:

I changed that and then the Real Time report for the dialer port status works. Nothing else from the Real Time reports returns any data.

We are using only the Outbound option, so it's only for the outbound. It doesn't give me any Real Time report except the dialer port status. It doesn't return any error, but the report is empty.

Problem with Real Time Data Acquisition

Hello,
I tried to built a RDA data flow according to the SAP-Help and this blog (/people/kamaljeet.kharbanda/blog/2006/11/13/real-time-data-acquisition-bi2004s), but I ran into a problem. Everything seems to be fine, but even though the daemon is running no new data is added to the DSO. I'll explain in detail what steps I took and hope someone can pinpoint my error(s).
System is BW4 on SPS 17. My datasource as well as my DSObject are in the same system
1.) Created a transparent table with a timestamp-field for generic delta as a local object.
2.) Created a generic datasource from view/table (used the above table), marked it as realtime-enabled and used timestamp as delta-specific field.
3.) Replicated the metadata for my datasource and activated it.
4.) Created a Data Storage Object with infoobjects corresponding to the table fields
5.) Created a transformation between DataSource and DSO
6.) Created a DTP from Data Source to DSO. The type is realtime-DTP.
7.) Created an InfoPackage for Delta-Initial Load. Update mode: Initialize Delta Process -> Initialization with Data Transfer.
8.) Then I changed my DTP (step 6) to "normal DTP" and executed it. Then activated the data in the DSO. The datasets from the table (which i filled with an ABAP-program) were successfully loaded and activated. So now my DSO contains 5 datasets.
9.) Changed the DTP back to "realtime DTP"
10.) Created an InfoPackage for RDA. Adapter is set to "Realtime extraction from SAP System"
11.) Created a daemon, assigned the IP for RDA and the DTP to the daemon and started it up.
12.) Executed my ABAP program to added 3 datasets to the table which is used as a datasource.
So now in my source table there are 8 datasets, but the daemon won't load them. In my RDA-Monitor (trx rsrda) it shows my daemon, the assigned IP and the assigned DTP (status green). Under the IP there's one yellow request (that should be right according to the help), but unlike the picture in the blog (link see above) there's no request under the DTP.
Job overview (sm37) shows an active batch job and some jobs that are ready (every 10minutes a new batch starts and the old one is closed). the job log shows, that the daemon runs, but loads no data...
i think it might be a problem with the delta extraction somewhere, because the intial load works fine and there are no errors anywhere.
Edit: perhaps my settings in the data source unter tab: extraction are wrong?
Delta process: AIE After Images By Extractor (can't change that)
Direct Access: Allowd
real Time: Real-Time DA Supported
Adapter: realtime data extraction (also tried Access to SAP Data through Service API which seems senseless)
Data Format: Fixed Lenght
Anyone can explain what those fileds mean and which one i should use?

Hi again, another thing i'd like to try is to just active a business content datasource which is realtime-enabled and has the ability to dynamically add some values so that i can test if it works. but i have no idea what business content would be applicable here, any ideas on that perhaps?

AspectJ with real time java

Does real time java supports aspectJ with Load-time weaving ( LTW ) ? ( compile time weaving )

Not sure what you mean by "support". AspectJ rewrites bytecodes so the VM will just execute them. You'll probably encounter increased memory usage with load-time weaving as class loading/initialization occurs in Immortal memory. Also load-time weaving won't be compatible with Java RTS's Initialization Time Compilation (ITC) feature ... or at least not the pre-initialization part. It's likely that no-heap threads won't work well running weaved code if there are any references back to heap-allocated AspectJ runtime objects, and similarly (like most libraries) it's not likely to work from scoped memory.

Where do I get the Boot disk for booting my desktop as a real time target? Do I make it MAX or do I have to buy it?

To convert your PC into a LabVIEW Real-Time Target, you must purchase the LVRT Deployment License for Standard PCs (ETS RTOS). This gives you a license to install the RTOS on the PC. While you *can* make a boot disk in MAX, this may or may not work with your PC, and you would be violating the license agreement. The purchase of the LVRT module for ETS does not include any RTOS runtime licenses.

We use Standard DSO in RDA..........Real-time data acquisition supports tactical decision making. In terms of data acquisition, it supports operational reporting by allowing you to send data to the delta queue or PSA table in real time. You use a daemon to transfer DataStore objects that have been released for reporting to the DSO layer at frequent regular intervals. The data is stored persistently in BI.
You use real-time data acquisition if you want to transfer data to BI at frequent intervals (every hour or minute) and access this data in reporting frequently or regularly (several times a day, at least). The DataSource has to support real-time data acquisition. The option to support real-time data acquisition is a property of a DataSource.............
Real-time data acquisition can be used in two primary scenarios:
via the Service API (SAPI). It incorporates usage of InfoPackage for
Real-time Data Acquisition (source to PSA). It then leverages Data Transfer
Process for Real-time Data Acquisition (PSA to DataStore Object).
via a Web Service Incorporates usage of Web Services to populate the PSA
which then leverages the Real-time DTP to transfer data to the DataStore

I'm not sure what you mean with "please give me the user/password".
As far as I know there is no online OWB available where you could try out the product (if that is what you mean).
If you would like to learn more about OWB, read online documentation or for instance the link that is provided in an earlier post in this thread.
Otherwise simply install OWB and try it yourself. The Installation and Configuration Guide is clear enough even without much experience installing Oracle software, and the OWB User Guide provides some basic insight on working with OWB itself.

As far as I am aware you don't have to install the real time product you can installl the JRockit JVM and use that with Weblogic, I think newer version of JRocket come bundled with Real Time which is the JVM and monitoring and analysis tools. There are still standalone JRocket JVM installs available, you can get them from oracle edelivery.
JRocket is a JVM but optimized for use with Weblogic, so you should get better overall performance.

Threads in real time games

For a game like Starcraft or Diablo 2 (or any real time game) is it standard practice to make a seperate thread for each object (such a monsters / units, etc.)

no, the overhead would become to great. There is one "master thread" for all monsters, which will keep track of their state, possibly one thread for each player in the case of RTS games like Starcraft. The game engine will have all kinds of tricks to make the AI seem smart, while they are actually pretty dumb and take up little cpu power. A single thread can keep track of hundreds of units this way.
