Hi,
There is not an specific guide for ECC 5.0 upgrade, just the guides specific for your OS/DB combination, they can be downloaded in https://websmp204.sap-ag.de/instguides but you should use the Unix/Oracle document,

    Hello
I am on ECC 5.0 with oracle 9.2.0.7.I need to upgrade this to ECC 6.0.
I have already implemented MM,PP,FICO,QM and HCM.My current data base size is 900GB.This has 30GB monthly growth.
With this ECC 6.0 upgrade i am planing to implement PM,EP.
I know converting none Unicode system to unicode system is required some more hardware resources than the none Unicode.
Some document says 40-60% more disk space and 35% more processing speed from current system.
Can any one give me the correct information about the hardware requirement for ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 upgrade.

    Hi,
Use the 'usual' user-exit for transactional data in R/3 EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 (CMOD). Here your can overwrite VBELN for each extracted record with the value you want.
    Hope this helps.

  • Webgui service fails in ECC 6/0 upgraded from ECC 5.0.

Our webgui service worked fine in our ECC. 5.0 system, however after the upgrade to ECC 6.0, the WebGui service fails. Has anyone experienced this?  I've found other threads that said to change the WebGui service parameters, however, I'm not sure what the correct parameters are since the one's I have are from a ECC.5.0 system and not from and ECC 6.0 system.

Problem resolved...you need to publish the service "SYSTEM" and "WEBGUI" in se80 after a SP upgrade.

  • Is there any specific docs for using iPlanet v5.1 as MTA only rather than as a MTA/IMAP server?

We currently use PMDF on a couple of dedicated boxes as MTA's for our site. Licensing for iPlanet v5 is a little more favorable and a number of the former PMDF developers now work for iPlanet/Sun and these folks were great to work with. I'm reading the admin guide right now but am curious if there is more out there? Or if anyone is doing what I'm looking at doing?
    al

There aren't any documents for installing the MTA portion of IMS only. In fact, out of the box, you can't install just the MTA in IMS 5.1. It may be possible in IMS 5.2.
Currently, you have to install the MTA and the store (which you can later disable). Then you have to configure your mapping and dirsync and so on for the MTA.
MTA configuration isn't drastically different in IMS (though I'm not familiar with SIMS or PMDF previous to IMS) so you will probably feel very comfortable with it after a read through the Admin Guide and the Reference Guide.
If you have a specific question about something in the process, someone could probably provide a little more detail.

  • Specific guide for Java

Hello, I know a little bit of java and a couple of other programming languages (pacal, C) fairly well.. I want to create a software that imports specific information off webpages such as (stupid example but go with me here) the third line on google or just the results when I search for "hello".. is there any guide to java that is more oriented to that subject?
I ask this mainly because I know a little bit of java and I don't want to get stuck with a guide that explains things i'm not interested in (time consuming.)
    thanks in advance!
    I love java :)

@OP You might want to read the section on "Working with URLs" in Sun's tutorials. They illustrate how you can get the contents served up by a web server. After that it's just text, and you manipulate it however you like.
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/urls/index.html
@Keith Oddly, there is no "By having your eyes open at this point you are agreeing to whatever terms of service we might wish to impose" notice when you search at Google. I'm no lawyer though, and this very possibly means nothing.
There are such notices at code.google.com etc and, like you say, they do impose restrictions on now you can access the site and what you can do with the content.
    http://code.google.com/tos.html
Just to be controversial: some user agents implement JavaScript, some don't. Some show the ads, some might not. Google's TOS forbids altering the "Content": but surely any user agent will alter the content just by virtue of the fact that it renders the page at all.
Again, one of the uses you might put such naughty page stripping to is to look for the various words that appear on a web page, and at the links that exist on that page to others. Then you might rate the pages you are stripping according both to the words that appear and the number of sites that link to them. The acme of such naughtiness would be to do this comprehensively and present your results so that others could find pages relevent to the search words they enter...

  • Is there any Specific rule for using "IS" and "AS" keyword?

    Hi,
i am confused about the use of these two keywords "IS" and "AS".It seems to me they are used randomly anywhere in procedure, package or triggers etc..
Is there any rule for there usages , or only way is to remember the actual syntax whenever they are used ?

They are generally interchangeable, so you can use whichever you choose.
In the English language we say that "some object IS" and "do an action AS" so, for example...
in a package if we define a type it reads better as:
TYPE mytype IS TABLE OF NUMBER;because we are saying that this type called mytype IS a table of numbers.
but if we were to create the type on the database we would use e.g.
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE mytype AS RECORD (x number, y number);because we are saying that we are creating (action) a type called mytype AS a record.
Just a slight difference in grammatical meaning, but Oracle isn't bothered if you choose to use the other one in most cases.

  • Is ther any specific utility for creating planning application automaticall

    Hi,
Do we some utility for creation of Hyperion planning application with min parameters that we used to create using app wizard?
I mean if we have the utility then we can schedule a script and run the script for creation of application.
Later we can develop this with metadata loading with any automation tools like HAL etc.........
Please let me know if we have some thing like that?
    Regards
    Venkat G

Urgh, it's killing me to write this, but wouldn't EPMA do what you want? Not automated exactly, but if I were in the business of quickly spinning of multiple Planning apps that maybe use some common hierarchies, that's a product I might look at.
Having said that, in the real world I'd probably look at ODI, especially now that it can drive all dimensions.
How many applications and how often do you think you're going to create them? Deletes? Why?
You will put the lie to the "3 to 6 months to implement a Planning app" when you finally get it all working. 3 to 6 minutes? :)

    Hello,
I am trying to analyse the impact of applying Enhancement pack 4 for ECC 6.0, Can someone help me find any security guides for it.
It is an existing system and few additional modules are being implemented.
    Kind Regards.

    Hello,
We have applied EHP4 on an exisiting(running) ECC 6.0 System. Can someone help me find answers to below queries
    a) What is  the SAP standard process to start with Security bit.
    b) Do we need to run SU25 steps. If yes, which one of them.
    c) Since the purpose of applying EHP4 was to activate few set of new business functionalities, we intend to affect the existing security design at the minimal. What is the best approach for this.

    Hi,
Can you check  if there is any other user ID specified in "BW user for ALE".
To check, Go to transaction RSA1 --> Settings --> Global Settings.
If you find a different user id there, then specify the correct BW user id there.
Please refer to OSS Note 410952 for details.
    Hope this solves your problem!!
