Any way to disable the live map areas in hidden jpgs?

I have a jpg image that fades from hidden to visible and back via a mouse click toggle behavior tied to a 'click here for map' element (in Dreamweaver CS5, MM_effectAppearFade). I overlaid a map with defined areas on the jpg each of which, when clicked, send the visitor to other pages on the site. Works fine - a mouse click makes the jpg image visible, then a click on a live area moves the visitor down the road, or a second click on 'click here for map' toggles everything back to hidden status.
My problem is that even when hidden, the defined areas on the jpg remain 'live' such that if you move the mouse to where they are hidden, the mouse changes to the pointy finger and a click triggers the link. Not good.
Seems like the easiest way to solve the problem might be to associate the MM_effectAppearFade behavior with a behavior that starts with the hidden jpg image way off screen, then moves it onto the screen and fades it in, and reverses the sequence later.
Is this the right way to do this? If so, I'd appreciate it if someone could point me to a tutorial that shows how to set up the behaviors. ...or maybe theres a better way?
Thanks - Jim

You can do this by amending the JavaScript block in the head of the page like this:
<script type="text/javascript">
function MM_effectAppearFade(targetElement, duration, from, to, toggle)
    Spry.Effect.DoFade(targetElement, {duration: duration, from: from, to: to, toggle: toggle});
   var img = document.getElementById(targetElement);
    if (img.style.opacity == 1 || !img.style.opacity) {
        img.useMap = '';
    } else {
        img.useMap = '#Map';
</script>
In this script, I have assumed that you're using the default name that Dreamweaver gives to the image map (Map).
Check the value of the usemap attribute in the <img> tag. By default, it's this: usemap="#Map". The value needs to be the same in this line of the code:
img.useMap = '#Map';

  • Question:-Is there any way to disable the installation location/folder of da Adobe AIR Application?

    Is there any way to disable the installation location/folder of the Adobe AIR Application or can we skip that part automatically?

    xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"  is the spark mx address, which is completely different than the original 2006 mx library.
    The thing is:  I love AIR, hate spark, loved the 2006 pre-spark functionality.  It is so much more convenient and user friendly.  Given the choice between having the display seperate from the  processing, or having it be convenient and easy  to work with, I choose the later option.
    For the most part it seems like the AIR api is like a layer on top of the spark - flex system..   I would like to be able to over lay the same AIR functionality on top of the the old system....
    Possible or no?

  • Is there any way to identify the two classes are compiled by same vm

    Is there any way to identify the two classes are compiled by same vm?
    Thank's a lot.

    I think this is the better forum than java compiler. The answer to the question you asked is no.
    But that question is not the best way to address your problem.
    If this were me, I'd use a tool like ASM (http://asm.objectweb.org/) to read in that file, and replace the getToday() method, with one like this
    long getToday() {
        return 20080101;
    }and replace the class file with this new one. (keep the old one, they might be using a class loader that verifies class signatures or something)
    (They said the code you are looking at could have been changed by you - so take the hint and change it back).
    If they've ripped you off, this will restore justice much more cheaply and effectively than involving the lawyers. If they then sue you for breaching the license agreement, that would probably force them to disclose their underhand tactics.
    OTOH, if you're lying to us about the purchase, and needing to pay for upgrades to fix the performance issue, and instead are trying to crack some trial software, then I hope they are using a custom class loader that checks the integrity of the classes.
    If you are being ripped off, why are you not telling us the name of the company? I am not sure who is being ripped off here.

  • Is there any way to disable the expanding scroll bars in Mountain Lion?

    Since I never scroll by dragging the scroll bars with the cursor, I find the expansion of the scroll bars to be a distracting and even productivity limiting feature. Is there any way to disable the expansion of the scroll bars (perhaps with a terminal command)? System Preferences doesn't have an option to switch this feature off as far as I'm concerned.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    No!

  • Is there any way to disable the lock screen with out the screen staying on?

    I know there is away to disable the pass lock but is there a way to disable the screen from locking every time the screen goes off? cause it's so much easier to just press the answer button than to slide it to unlock. phone versions iPhone 4s and iPhone 5c.

    You're confusing a direct answer with a rude one.  Wjosten's reply wasn't rude.  It was accurate and direct, without any sugercoating.  You can't get the device to operate the way that you want (lock the screen, but not really 'lock' the screen).  It's not a 'screensaver' like on your computer.  It's a lock screen, designed to prevent accidental activation of the device screen, and possibly launching apps, making phone calls, etcetera.
    If you want an option added that allows the device to do what you want, tell Apple.

    Direct, accurate information.  That's what wjosten provided.

  • Is there any way to disable the use of the "Delete" key to delete an email message?

    It's very frustrating when I hit the delete key and iCloud automatically erases the selected email message.  I receive some HTML formatted emails that include a text box that I can utilize to directly reply to something.  If I don't make any mistakes at all, I can utilize this box and post a reply.  But if I mess up and need to delete text, instead of deleting text iCloud deletes the email message.  Is there any way to disable this?
    Thanks for your help.

    I don't believe it's possible to disable the delete key, but could be wrong. However, if you delete an email in error, you can restore it by pressing cmd + Z to undo the deletion.

  • Is there any way to disable the firefox search option when you long press the home button on Samsung Galaxy S5 Active?

    I have an S5 Active and sometimes the home button sticks and registers as a long press which brings up Firefox search instead of going to the home screen. Is there any way to disable Firefox Search so that this doesn't happen. I Love the Firefox browser but if this keeps happening I will have to uninstall it.

    hello djpianalto, you could clear the default settings for firefox on android within the system settings (like described in this [http://www.howtogeek.com/195885/how-to-set-and-clear-a-default-app-on-an-android-device/ external article]).
    or try an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hk.sld.SwipeLaunchDisabler

    Go to the settings menu and find the accessibility options.  You can turn off the VoiceOver feature.
    Odd though as that is off by default.

  • K1 any way to disable the Home Button?

    I hate this button!  I am always hitting it by mistake.  I can never remember if swiping up is for menu or swiping down is for back or what... I never use it... is there any way to disable it?  The only slightly useful thing about it is the screen capture... but again, not used much... HELP!

    Same here, the only reason I like the button for is for taking a screen shot.
    Maybe something could be added to the settings to disable this button?

  • How to disable mac book sleep for when I close the lid. I have a monitor attached to the mac book and as soon as I close the lid on the mac book it goes toi sleep. Any way to disable the sleep mode? Thanks

    Boss bought a new monitor for his mac book. We connected it but he rather keep the mac book lid closed in order to work on the bigger monitor screen. Soon as he closes the lid, the mac book goes to sleep mode.
    Is there a free way to disable the sleep mode?

    When the MacBook goes to sleep just hit a key on your external keyboard and the monitor will come back on.

  • Is there any way to DISABLE the "could not activate cellular data network" message?

    This message frequently pops up while I am using any GPS app and travelling - as I enter an area with no Data coverage it appears, forcing me to respond by touching the 'OK' button. I simply want to disable the message. I know when I'm out of a coverage area. IT'S TEMPORARY! Why do I need to respond? If I am using my phone as a GPS device while on my motorcycle, wearing gloves, I CAN'T respond!!!

    If you're talking about the balloon tip that appears in the tray area, I don't know of a way to disable it for just Acrobat, but you can for all programs by modifying the registry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307729
