Anyone know how to measure multiple file selections in a finder window?

Hello,
I have a flash drive that holds 8gbs. I have an enormous folder of images I am going to start passing to my buddy on the flash drive. Anybody know how I can select multiple files and know how big the selection will be prior to dragging them to the 8gb drive?

Shift-click or command-click to select them, and then press the Option, Command, and I keys; the information in the window will change as the selection changes.

The answer to your question depends on what you ant to do with the DVD.
Do you want a DVD menu, slide show etc.
iPhoto will allow you to burn straight to a DVD. Just select the album you want to burn then go to share in the tool bar and select Burn.

anyone know how to get pdf files to print on a Mac. When i bring pdf file up and press print a box comes up saying cannot print. When i press that one another comes up saying no pages selected. Everything up to date, rebooted, checked to make sure plugins are there and up to date.

You will need to enable your iPod for disk use. Then, you should see your iPod in "My Computer" and you can open up your iPod's folder there and drag the files into it. You can store the files on the iPod, then connect it to the other computer and drag-and-drop them from the iPod into the designated directory in that computer. Make sure individual files are not larger than 4 GB.

Anyone know how to encode video files with 5.1 sound

So now that TV officially accepts and handles 5.1 sound....
Does anyone know how to encode their video files to include 5.1 audio?
(assuming that ones video files contain audio that is 5.1 from the original source)

Ok, I managed to get Dolby Digital from a Video file. The steps are very easy:
Create an mp4 from your DVD or other source with Handbrake or Visual Hub - Audio Settings are not important
If you are ripping a DVD then open Mac the Ripper, choose Chapter extraction, open streams and select the Audio File you want to be extracted
You will now need Quicktime Pro
Open both files (the mp4 and the ac3) in Quicktime. Copy the ac3 stream and paste it to the mp4 file
Save the file as a MOV movie
Import it in iTunes
That was it!!!
I am now trying to figure out how to extract ac3 audio from mkv files...

Does anyone know how to compress .pdf files to share?

I put together a 4 page document in Pages but it is almost 1.7 MB - yikes! Anyone know how to get it smaller? It has a lot of photos, which I'm sure are the culprit. If I knew how to make them smaller, I'm sure I'd be on the right track!

In todays world a fle of 1.7 Mega Bytes isn't that big. That's about the same size of a small JPG file from a standard camera.
How do plan on sharing it? Emailing it? you should have no problem emailing a file of that size.
Sorry I don't know of a way to compress a PDF unless you ZIP it.

Does anyone know how to remove multiple wireless profiles?

Interestingly enough, I recently setup a new computer with the same itunes library as my old computer which I moved to another part of the house. I renamed BOTH libraries from their previous names. These are both iMacs. Now, all my iOS devices (iphones/ipads/etc.) show up on BOTH and wirelessly sync to BOTH! So, I turned off wireless sync on one of the machines but the devices still show up in the menu. Also, on the devices themselves both libraries show up as available to sync. Does anyone know how to remove the wireless capabilities from one computer or device so the devices just sync with a single library?

i'm trying to import a group that i belong to from the cc area of an email i received in mail to addressbook without having to do them one by one which is plainly tedious. does anyone know how to do this? can i convert them to vcards somehow, all together not individually?

Does anyone know how to avoid grainy files after editing in Photoshop CS6 (Mac)

We have come across a problem using Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6 on a MAC. We use Illustrator CS6 for putting together the graphics and use Photoshop CS6 for editing. When we save the image in full res and browse the image - the image looks grainy both on a Mac and a PC. Has anyone else come across a similar problem and if so do you know how we can solve this problem?

Are you "Placing" the image files? What format are they saved in ( i.e., .tiff, .psd, .jpg, .eps )?

I am having issues uploading and sending via email pictures and videos today. Anyone else having this problem? Also, anyone know how to upload multiple pictures to Facebook at one time?

Did you once considered going to a third party site like Swappa to purchase a gently used device for your daughter?
