AP and AR Cube Table in R/3

Experts,
This is kind of a mix of FI and BW - I can see 3 different cubes in our BW system - one for GL, 1 for AP and 1 for AR - But what are the tables from which it gets this info :
I am under the impression that it is BSEG for GL, but then BSEG contains all the info including AR and AP - so can i say GL cube will have all of the info where AP will be just BSIK and AR BSID.
All answers would be duly rewarded with points.
Thanks,
Nandita

No I am afraid you are wrong.
BSIS will hold only the GL postings, and BSIK & BSID will hold the recon details.
Best to check the account type in BSEG or try t code FB09 to view GL data for a single a/c document.

  • Updating Physical Cube Tables and Hierarchies OBIEE 11.1.1.7

I have imported a MSAS Cube, modeled it and created a presentation layer. I now have some new hierarchies I need to add to the phyicial layer.
How do you import new Cube Tables and/or Hierarchies?
When I select the Import option it creates a new OLAP database and connection pool, I am unable to successfully move those changes into the existing OLAP Connection.
I have been through the documentation and it reccomends importing over a manual process. However I am unable to figure out how to do this with the import process.
Oracle® Fusion Middleware Metadata Repository Builder's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition
    11g Release 1 (11.1.1) Part Number E10540-05
Chapter 8 Working with Physical Tables, Cubes, and Joins
There is a section called Working with Multidimensional Sources in the Physical Layer, in this section is says
"Each multidimensional catalog in the data source can contain multiple physical cubes. You can import the metadata for one or more of these cubes into your Oracle BI repository. Although it is possible to create a cube table manually, it is recommended that you import metadata for cube tables and their components"
The New Utilities feature(s) is really cool, but it doesn't work for OLAP connections.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Michael,
it works, but its a bit tricky. I did it with Oracle OLAP and I think it must be similar with other OLAP Databases.
Rename your existing Database in Physical Layer to the name Metadata Import dialog would create. With Oracle OLAP the "Data Source Name" ist used. Just try it once.
Unfortunately you can not merge dimensions and cubes as it is with relational Objects . So you have to delete the cube and dimensions you will import from you renamed Database in Physical Layer. Of course the mapping between physical and business model will be lost
Now you can import your modified OLAP-Cubes and Dimensions and it should be placed in your renamed Database in Physical Layer
Open the sources of your logical tables in business model and add the Dimensions or Cubes in the "General" Tab. Move to the Tab "Column Mapping" and check if mapping is OK. If not (this will be the case, if you customized the column names), you have to do the mapping from the scratch .
I recommend to use the original names from the data source. If you need another name for a column, just create a new logical column and use "Derive from existing columns". Now you can reimport OLAP Metadate quicker because the Mapping is done automatically.
    Hope this helps

  • Significant of key field in Info cube table

    Hi,
what is significant of key field in Info cube table?
    Best regards,
    dushyant.

    hi ,
key figures are very important in tables, when it is in cube it act as dimensions
for the reporting purpose see this scenario
    the table has following fields
    student no
    student name
    student attendance
    student mark
in this scenario when we want report according to student no its normal we would get, but when we want according to attendance, marks we dont get report according to attendance and mark, so we put all those fields in key fields.
So we could say that Key fields are the dimensions and according to this we get reports

  • F and E Fact Tables

    Hi,
What is the difference between F fact table and E fact table?
When we create an Infocube which fact table is generated?
    Thanks,
    Soujanya

    Hi ,
Difference between 'F' fact table & an 'E' Fact table
A cube has 2 fact tables - E and F. When the requests in the cube are not compressed the data exists in the F fact table and when the requests are compressed the data lies in the E fact table.
When the requests are compressed all the request ids are lost (set to NULL) and you would not be able to select/delete the data by request id. The data in the E fact table is compressed and occupies lesser space than F fact table.
When you load a data target, say a cube, the data is stored in the F fact table. If the cube is compressed, the data in the F fact table is transferred to the E fact table.
The F-table uses b-tree indexes the E-Table uses bitmap indexes. Index, Primary Index (The primary index is created automatically when the table is created in the database.).  Secondary Index (usually abap tables), Bitmap Index(Bitmap indexes are created by default on each dimension column of a fact table), and B-Tree Index
Bex access the records from F-table or E- Table of InfoCube
Bex access both F and E fact tables. If data exists in both tables, it picks from both.
If the cube is not compressed it takes from F table, if fully compressed it takes from E table, partial compression - both F and E.
Roll-up adds the copy of records from F or E table to the aggregate tables. The records are not moved from F or E.
Also check the below SDN thread.
What is the difference between Fact tables F & E?
Hope the above info is helpful.
    Cheers

  • Lookup and a return table

1.0 what's a lookup and a return table,  are they same thing?
2.0 how do you create it?
    thanks

    Hi,
a lookup table to enhance your data while loading. For instance you load sales in a cube and your source is providing the site and you require to post the Sale Organization.
In a start routine (Ttransfer or Update rules) you fill via ABAP a lookup table having the relation site to Sales Org.
In the sales org routine you read this lookup table with the key site and post the corresponding sales org in your IObj.
The return table functionality in update rules:
Imagine you are loading sales in a KF in a cube. Your requirement is have a year to date key figure stored as well in your cube.
So you load sales for January, posted to period JAN.
You would need to post this record for next 11 months as well in order to able to see YTD sales correctly when you select period FEB.
The return table enables you to post many records from 1 loaded records.
The lookup tables are created as internal table via ABAP in start routines
The return table is located in an update routine for a particular key figure and you use ABAP as well
Hoping this will answer your enquiries
    Olivier.

  • ODS objects and Info-cubes

Could someone clarify my understanding of the difference between ODS and basic cubes?
My understanding is that the ODS is updated from R/3 and is a flat structure, or a basic database which is write-optimised.  The data in the ODS is then updated into the info-cube at a more summarised level.
The info-cube provides enhanced reporting capability because it is structured as a star-schema which introduces additional dimenions (via the dimension tables) to enrich the contents of the fact table.
Does the ODS update both fact table and dimension table in the star schema?
    Many thanks,
    Frederick

    Hi Frederick,
If that doesn't solve your concern... then go ahead
1.ODS is a two dimensional object
2.ODS is a datastore where you can store data at a very granular level.
3.Technically there is the option to overwrite or add single records.
4.ODS can be used for detailed level of reporting( same as in r/3),
(cube can be used for aggregate level of reporting.)
5.ODS are used to consolidate data
1.Whereas cube is a based on multidimensional modeling which facilitates reporting on diff dimensions.
2.The data is stored in an aggregated form unlike ODS and have no overwriting capability.
    3. Reporting and analysis can be done on multidimensions unlike on ODS
    4. InfoCubes are optimized for reporting
    5. There are options to improve performance like aggregates and compression.
    5. It is not possible to replace single records, all records sent to InfoCube will be added up.
You may get a doubt why first load to ODS and then to Infocube, the strategy of adding ODS
in dataflow is termed as addtion of EDW(Enterprise Datawarehouse) layer which will allow
us to retrieve data within BW if at all some thing goes wrong & we lose data from InfoCube.
We can get the data from ODS itselft into cube without going to the source sytem again.
Please search SDN & you will get a lot of docs on this:

  • CRM Sales and ECC Delivery and Billing cube ods info

We have already activated the ODS( OCRM_SALO) and the cube(OCSAL_CO3) for the sales order item level info and loaded data from the CRM system.
Our next aim is to load the delivery  and Billing data from the ECC( or ERP). This is where we are a little confused.
We see a lot of ODS in the info area CRM> ERP Analytics> Sales and Distribution Analysis SAP R/3 SD
Not sure which ODS object and Cubes to activate and load.
    Any help will be rewarded.
    Thanks

    Hello,
You can use BADI CRM_DATAEXCHG_BADI method crm_dataexch_after_bapi_fill.
In this method the field REQ_DLV_BL in internal table ct_bapischdlx can be cleared when CRM sends a delivery block with value space. When this field is cleared this means for ERP: Do not takeover delivery block and run the logic to determine the delivery block (including from material status).
Please bear in mind that this will lead to a system behaviour that a value of space for delivery block cannot be transferred anymore from CRM to ERP. This means the delivery block cannot be reset anymore from the CRM side, it can only be removed in ERP.  If you use data exchange scenario A, it should not be a problem for you as the sales order can also be changed in ERP and thus the delivery block can be removed in ERP.
    Best regards,
    Maggie

  • Custom Fields and OLAP Cubes - PS2007

    Hi!
I can include a custom field directly to olap cube per database?
I need have these fields (without lookup table) in olap cube "Portfolio_Analyzer"
    Tks.

    Hi Alex,
In the OLAP section of the server settings, you can add custom field by types (projects, tasks, resources or assignments). Note that free text fields CANNOT be added to OLAP cubes (refer to the links I give you at the end of my reply). You just have to select
the CF and to add it to the right part:
Note that you have to differenciate measure and dimension:
Cube Dimensions Specify the custom fields you want to add to the OLAP database as dimensions. The selected custom fields will be added to both timephased and non-timephased cubes, when applicable.
Cube Measures Specify the custom fields you want to add to the cube as measures. The selected custom fields will be added to the related Non-Timephased cube.
Finally you can add MDX expression (new measures created with formulas based on existing fields) to any of the 14 cubes.
Please find some useful links below (some are for PS2010, but still applicable):

  • Setup event table cache clear for - Essbase cube table

we have event polling table for clearing the cache now having issues in setting up for essbase physical cube tables.
    1. we have structure of hyperion like this for physical cube table "CONSOL"- where schema is empty.
    "Hyperion"."CONSOLX".."CONSOL"
    2. Event polling table is in different database/connection
When the event table is populated without schema, polling actually looking for the table in the database configured for the event pool connection pool and not "hyperion".
*[55001] The physical table Hyperion:CONSOLX:Event Polling:CONSOL in a cache polled row does not exist.*
When i read in some blogs...I understood its working as expected(when something is null it looks in event polling database)
Has anybody configured event polling for hyperion cubes table cache clear ?
    Thanks
    Ayaps

what is your insert statement in UET table?
Looks like you are missing one value out of 4 required. Thats why it is considering Event Pooling in between. As you have event pooling table in different physical database, you have to fill DbName,CatalogName,SchemaName and TableName in the UET tables.

    Hi,
When ever u want to append data into the workarea then use select ... endselect. When u r appending data into the internal table then use select. Also when u use select single then also use only select.
    Eg: Using only Select
data : begin of itab occurs 0,
    lifnr like lfa1-lifnr,
    end of itab.
select single lifnr from lfa1 into itab.
data itab like lfa1 occurs 0 with header line.
select * from lfa1 into table itab.
    Eg: Using Select .. endselect.
    data : itab like lfa1 occurs 0,
    wa like lfa1.
select * from lfa1 into wa.
    append wa to itab.

  • Creating tables on SQL studio and viewing the table in the SAP system

i have just created a table using the SQL studio and wants to use it view it in the SAP system using the SAP logon. till now i have not found a way to create it therefore any help is much appreciated.

Hmm... you want to see tables via SAPLogon ??
Ok, let's assume you really want to access tables via ABAP instead.
    For that you've two options:
    1. Create the table in the ABAP dictonary (SE11) exactly like you created it in the database and activate the table.
After that you can access the table via SE16 or any ABAP as you like.
    2. You don't create the table in the ABAP dictonary and use native SQL to access the data.
Neither of these options is meant to be the way to do it.
The correct way would be to design the whole table in the ABAP dictionary and create the table on the database from that.

  • Remote and Transactional Cube

    Dear Friends,
How a Basic Cube differs from a Transactional and Remote Cube ?
A Small Example-  Cube Carries the Transaction data of Customer ,Material, Sales details ( characteristics) and price, Quantity and Revenue (keyfigures) .
When do we Really have to Change or to Create the Other Cubes to hold those Data ?
What is the Exact Purpose that a Scenario Needs the Remote and Transactional Cube ?
I hope Remote Cube Can be created with "Infoservices" and "Source system" . What is the demand for both these options?
    Thanks well in advance ,
    Ramesh

    hi,
Remotecbue will have  only structure and It does't hold any data.
and it is used to bring live data to BW ..At the time of reporting only the data fetches from the source system. So it takes more time to execute.
it will not hav update rules...
Transactional InfoCubes are used only in conjunction with SEM. The data from this kind of InfoCube is accessed transactionally, meaning data is written to the InfoCube (possibly by several users at the same time) and reread as soon as possible. Basic InfoCubes are not suitable for this. You should use Basic InfoCubes for read-only access (for example, when reading reference data).

  • Data not matching for a key figure in ODS and In CUBE.

There is one key figure ( Net Units) where in the data is not matching in ODS and in CUBE for only one particular fiscal week (200714)but for the rest of the weeks its matching.
The data  is  first loaded in to ODS and from there in to CUBE and the source is from flat file.
The cubes are not compressed .so I checked the DB aggregation in the field selection for output screen but still it’s not matching .( based on the infocube addition property some times if a file is loaded multiple times it adds up in the infocube so when the cubes are not compressed we manually select this option) .
What might be the possible cause for this ???
    thanks in advance
    jayakrishna

    HI,
By any chance if you have loaded same the delta twice into the cube, then there might be the chance of the corrupt data. SO identify the lowest level of document where u can identify the difference.I mean if possible 0calday wise or document leve wise or sales org wise etc. and try to find out where is the difference. Then check in the change log of the oDS, whether the request has gone into cube twice. last option is selectively delete the data from the cube for the week and load a full repair from the ODS for that week.
