APERTURE USE ON DEC. 2012 27" IMAC

ANY PROBLEMS

If you mean Fusion Drive, not Fusion the VM environment, I can tell you Aperture gets along just fine on my new 27" iMac with a 1TB Fusion drive.

Has anyone come across the red "i" message saying "The backup disk image "/Volumes/Chris...(the last bit being) iMac.sparsebundle" is already in use."?
As of yesterday (4th Dec 2012) everything was fine, no trouble or problems at all. Wake up this morning, turn on the computer and when it came time to backup itself, the message occurred above and this has prevented my time machine from backing up from this morning (5th Dec 2012) ever since then.
Everything on my computer is up-to-date but this problem still persists displaying this message practically every hour, on the hour and nothing is getting backedup!
If you know what is going on and more importantly, how to fix this, I would be indebted to you for sharing your knowledge with me on this subject.
    Thank you.

Please help... I dont know how to get the phone's imei..the last updated phone on my account was my friends..plz help to retrieve my phones imei it was purchased in Paris in dec 2012..

Your IMEI number won't help you locate it.  It will only help your carrier to blacklist the phone so it can't be used on their network.  If you want to find it anyway, read here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4061.

  • Use Aperture 3.2.4 license on iMAC on new MacBook Pro Retina

I have Aperture 3.2.4 on an iMAC originally purchased as installed software on the iMAC.  I want to use the license from the iMAC on a new MAC Book Pro Retina.  How do I install Aperture on the MAC Book Pro with the license key from the iMAC?

Do you still have the installer on your iMac? If not, download the Trial version, if this link still works: if yes, you can unlock it with your serial number:
    http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/Aperture/061-8328 .20101020.AprE3/ApertureTrial3.1.dmg
You can find your serial number in the "About" panel on your iMac: From Aperture's main menu bar:
         Aperture > About Aperture

  • HT3696 How to know if your mac is using the latest Haswell architecture processor or not? and how to know the difference between the new imac and the 2012/13 imac?

How to know if your mac is using the latest Haswell architecture processor or not? and how to know the difference between the new imac and the 2012/13 imac?

Sorry to reopen an old post, but I've just purchased a 2nd hand late-2013 iMac (or so thats what the seller said).
I'm always sceptical though, and just wanted to know if there is a way to check if my iMac is indeed the late-2013 model that included Haswell?
I've attached screenshots of the About This Mac section hoping it may help shed some light.
Thank you in advance for your help!
PS - I can't compare to the iMac specs link you posted above because its now showing the late-2014 models.

  • Headphone jack not working on brand new late 2012 27" iMac

Just purchased the new late 2012 27" iMac. Have tried 3 pairs of headphones, all work with my iPhone but when plugged into back of iMac, they do not show up in Sound>Output as an option. Only internal speakers and Apple TV.
I have pushed...hard. Not the issue.
Tired changing Audio Midi settings to 32-bit floating. Didn't do anything...
    Any thoughts?
    Thx

    What you did at last?
This is happening to me and I'm very disappointed and frustrated!
Is the first time I tried to use a headphones and the stupid machine doesn't work!
I already reseted PRAM and SMC also updated OS to 10.8.4
    Is a HW problem?
Do I have to go to the store and lost ALL the time I already invested in SW install and file moving from my old laptop?
By the way I can see the light when I unplug the heardphones.
Before some help desk robot asks, YES, I tried 3 pair of phones ALL of them work well in my Vostro 3550, Samsung S3 and in my Nexus 7.
    Some light here please!

I have a late 2012 27" imac and was wondering can i connect my xbox one or sky box to my imac
I have a a cable that connects to thunderbolt and has hdmi input at other end.
but can i use this an an input rather than an output.
    any help would be grateful.

You may have been able to do it with a Late 2009 or Mid 2010 27-inch iMac, but not with a Thunderbolt iMac. You need a special adapter to connect a games console to your iMac, and that adapter is not compatible with Thunderbolt iMacs

  • No backlight in Target Display Mode on 2012 27" iMac

I am trying to use my new 2012 iMac 27" as an external display for my mid 2011 Mac Mini with Target Display Mode.  At first it seems like it's not working when switching as I hit Command + F2 and the screen changes to black.  But after shining a flashlight onto the monitor I can see the desktop and dock of my Mac Mini operating system.  Mouse control and everything else works, it's just the backlight doesn't light up when connected to the Mac Mini.  But hitting Command + F2 again brings it back to the iMac and a normal functioning backlight.
I'm assuming this is a bug in the new iMac because I had a late 2011 iMac 27" (previous generation) hooked up to this same Mac Mini and Target Display Mode worked perfectly between the two.  It was even the same exact Thunderbolt cable.  I have re-tested the Mac Mini and plugged it into another monitor with a DVI to Mini Display port adapter and it has worked fine.  Has anybody else experienced this behavior?

HI - i had this problem too.  see my previous post above.  I spent weeks on the phone to apple support.
    from memory:
    1. I had to reinstall the OS (from a download) - but this failed to work
    2. So... I had to perform a complete reinstall of the operating system (and wipe all user data)
    3. and then restore all my user data.
Everything has worked seamlessly since then - which to me indicates it's a s/w problem and possibly one with something in my user profile?  I just reliased I did not try and create a new user and try TDM using that.  This would've proved it was a user profile problem or not..  I had one small ocassion where the screen went blank a week ago, but I just quickly pulled the TB cable out and put it back in again - and it was all ok.
So in essence I've been runing OK now since I did the reinstall and restored the user data.

  • How do I get photos from ios7 iphone into iPhoto or aperture on my OS 10.8 iMac

Anyone know how to transfer photos from ios7 iphone into iPhoto or Aperture on my OS 10.8 iMac?

Thx.  I thought that was what the various manuals were telling me to do but it wasn't working.  Your confirmation was useful in that it prompted me to double check (again) my usb connection (in its highly inconvenient location in the back of my iMac).  Voila.  "Always suspect operator error."

  • 2012 27" iMac(late) won't boot to Thunderbolt Drive

Got a new 2012 27" iMac and I can't get it to boot to my Thunderbolt Drive.  I can use my 2011 iMac and 2011 MBP and it boots to the Thunderbolt Drive just fine.   Thunderbolt drive is a Little Big Disk SSD drive.
After start up I get a chime, white screen then a cycle with a line through it then about 30 seconds later the iMac turns off.  Any Ideas?

Just an additional note for future reference: in general, Macs have never been able to boot from a system older than what they came with with a few exceptions: machines that were made right around the time a new OS is released would mostly still be able to boot into the previous OS even though they may come loaded with the new version. In this particular case, you are also adding a different build = special OS build version, which complicates things further.
Check for updates on this article - it doesn't even have the new iMacs yet:

Checking further, this article includes the new 21.5":

  • Image Persistence On Late 2012 27" iMacs

    Hi.
I'm currently on my second late 2012, 27" iMac. I returned the first one I bought because of uneven color from top to bottom of the display, as well as a very readable image of my browser's address bar that seemed to not want to vanish from the display against a plain dark gray background every time I closed the browser. It was a persistent image after using the browser for only five minutes. It was pretty bad, and I exchanged the computer for a replacement.
The replacement model is much better. The colors are pretty even, and if I leave a web page open for a long time, the ghost image on the display generally takes about ten minutes to fade completely away, against the plain dark gray background that I've set as my desktop wallpaper. On my previous model, the image of the address bar never really left. It was, like... permanently burned in.
I've read an awful lot in these forums about image persistence, and also the help articles that Apple published on this site about it. I'm aware that Apple acknowledges this as normal behavior for their displays.
I still have a couple of days left, where I can return this replacement unit for another iMac, or get a refund. My question to the community is this: Is what I have now, as good as it gets? I'd hate to take this one back, and exchange it for another that's only the same, or possibly worse.
Mostly, I'm concerned about residual artifacts from desktop wallpapers, recently closed application windows, etc., interfering with accurate perception of, say, a photo that I open to edit or something. It's a little worrisome. I don't plan to use blank wallpaper forever, or wait ten or twenty minutes after browsing the web before proceeding to work on graphics.

Although I don't own a imac from reading these forums I'd have to say what you now have is as good as it gets. So that leaves 2 options.
    Live with it.
Or return it for a refund and move on to some other mac computer or something else.

I am trying to import aperture library from macbook to new imac the import window sees the external harddrive but does nt see library.  I can open library as a refernce library but cannot import onto hardrive as managable files

I may be misreading what you are trying to do but you don't import libraries via the import window. You use File->Import->Library..
If this doesn't resolve your problem post back with more detail of what you are doing and what is happening.
