Apex 3.1.2 - missing column in CSV output

Hi,
We recently moved our application to apex 3.1.2. There is a report with a CSV output that worked fine in apex 3.0.
With the same report in apex 3.1.2, one column is missing in the CSV file but is showing on the report. Show column is set to YES, include in export is set to YES and there is no condition in the column attributes.
Any idea what my cause this problem ?
Patrick

I've found the problem. In the print attributes of the report, the column that was missing in the csv file had a column width set to null. When I put 10 in that field (same as the other columns), it suddenly appears in the csv file.
If I set the column width back to null, the column dissapears again. This must come from the upgrade to apex 3.1.2.
To find columns that could have this problem, I suggest you take a look at APEX_APPLICATION_PAGE_RPT_COLS.
+select *+
from apex_application_page_rpt_cols
where include_in_export = 'Yes'
and nvl(print_column_width,0) = 0

  • Flat File Import, Ignore Missing Columns?

The text files I'm importing always contain a fixed set of columns for example total number of full set of columns is 60, or a subset of those columns (some csv contain 40 columns, some contain 30 or 20 or any other number.) .  I would like to import
these csv based on the column header inside the each csv, if it is a subset of full column set then the missing columns can be ignored with null value.
At the moment in SQL 2012, if I import a subset of columns in the csv file, the data doesn't import...I assume because the actual file doesn't include every column defined in the flat file source object?
Is it possible to accomplish this without dynamically selecting the columns,  or using script component?
    Thanks for help.
    Sea Cloud

If the columns coming are dynamic, then you might have to first get it into staging table with a single column reading entire row contents onto that single column and parse out the column information using string parsing logic as below
    http://visakhm.blogspot.in/2010/02/parsing-delimited-string.html
This will help you to understand what columns are present based on which you can do the insertion to your table.

  • Columns in CSV vs. onscreen report

    Hi all-
I have a report that selects from several columns. One of the columns, Retired, is 'Y' or 'N' valued. In the report attributes, the "Show" checkbox for the Retired column is cleared; I just use this column to change the color of the row (e.g., green for 'Y', red for 'N'). Works fine. But since CSV output doesn't capture formatting, I'd like to output the contents of the Retired column in the CSV file. Anyone know how to do that? It appears that the CSV only mirrors the report output in the web browser; is there any way to make it return the results of the query directly (e.g., ignoring the cleared "Show" checkbox)?
    Thanks
    Rob

    Rob,
I'm sure I saw a way of achieving this on the forums many moons ago: there is some global boolean which is TRUE when Apex is producing CSV output and false when it it producing an on-screen report. You can reference this boolean in the conditions of the column in question ("retired" in your case) so that it only appears in the CSV or only in the on-screen report, as you like. However, I can't seem to be able to re-find this global variable. Did I dream this or does anyone know what it is?
Another way to do it would be to have a column condition which references the value of :REQUEST. You'll notice that when you hover over the link to OUTPUT TO CSV, REQUEST is being set to something like: FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT_R10363820249072335_en-gb. Your column condition could therefore check to see whether :REQUEST starts with 'FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT'. If it does, then you are in "output to CSV" mode and you want to show your retired column.
    Hope that's of some help,
    Andy

  • Export Report Missing Columns

I have a normal report region (not interactive). It was working fine in APEX 3 but just recently upgraded to APEX 4. Now, it will miss some columns when I hit the Report Export link. I double checked and the column attribute is set to Yes for include in Export. I also have the column with the exact same column attribute settings on the exact same field on another page and it exports fine on that page.
Are there any reported bugs or anyone have any ideas?

I just fixed the problem, I had a column title with an under score (CLOSED_DATE) when I removed the underscore the problem was fixed, this missing columns is exported to excel now. Try renaming the column this will fix it also.

  • Report Total Wrapping/Missing Data in CSV FIle

    PROBLEM:
We have an application were the totals in the report region will wrap when the total is negative and formatted with a negative sign preceding the number (e.g. -43,567.99). The wrapping results in users being confused to wether or not a value is negative or positive. We want all non-numeric columns to wrap so that the user does not have to scroll horizontally.
    SOLUTIONS TRIED
    1. Set the CCS Style attribute of a column to white-space:nowrap.
The value of CCS Style is inserted into span tags associated with a column value which in turn elliminates the wrapping in the detailed area of the report. However, I have no found a way to insert this type of span tag to the Total of a report region.
    2. Modifying the format mask to present negative numbers in brackets (e.g. <43,567.99>).
This solves the wrapping issue . . . however results in a problem when outputting the report to a CSV file. When outputting to a CSV file the negative number that have been formatted using bracket are not included in the output. I believe that it interprets them as html tags <> and therefore eliminates them from the output.
    3. Create duplicate amount columns in the report and apply a number format that places a negative sign in front of negative numbers and make this column display conditionally for CSV output only Then change the original column format mask to use brackets. Although this will work it seem a bit clunky, results in unnecessary pull of excess data and will require a lot of re-work/re-testing of our system.
    REQUEST
Does anyone have any ideas on how I might either:
    1. Add white-space:nowrap to the totals of the report region
    2. Overcome the exclusion of negative numbers containing brackets from the CSV output.
    3. HAve another approach to resolving this wrapping issue.
    Thanks,
    David

According to this article http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/html/nobr.html this is a known wrapping issue with Internet Explorer. Wrapping will occure when the following characters exists -()[]{}«»%°·\/!?. The author of the article suggest that the only way around this issue is too place -a or use white-space:nowrap in a [td] or [tr] tag.
This would suugest that I need to find a way to add html to the total column in the htmldb report . . . which I don't believe I can do . . . Does anyone know of a way to insert html into these total columns similiar to how we can be done using the CCS Style or HTML Expression attributes.
    Thanks,
    David.

  • Missing Columns from List Content Type

    Hi,
I'm having some strange problems with one of my site collections, I have site content types with a few columns in it and I'm using them in 3 different libraries.
However recently something happened and it seems the list content types in one of the libraries have stopped using some of the columns set out in the site content type (according to library settings). The columns still show as part of the list (and the metadata
is still in there), when I've tried adding them back to the list content types, I do not see them in the list columns group, only in their original column group. If I try to add them to the list from their original group I get the errors similar to the following:

I've tried to make changes to the parent site content type, however those changes to not push down to the library in question. The missing columns have varied types (single line of text, lookup, managed metadata and so forth). All of these content types &
site columns were created through the user interface of SharePoint.
Can anyone help me with any ideas what has happened and/or how to fix this problem?

    Hi Hans,
As I understand, you have custom content type in 3 libraries, while the issue occurs to the columns in this content type.
I wonder if the issue occurs to other two libraries as well?
From your description, "I've tried to make changes to the parent site content type, however those changes to not push down to the library in question", do you mean that changes in content type are not reflected to the list which is added to this
content type. If that is the case, I'd suggest you recreate content type.
If the site content type works well in other two libraries, please create a new library and add this content type. If it works well, then move the list content to this new list.

  • Split CSV output column

It is the default behavior of CSV output in bi publisher

  • CSV output includes div info in first column

    All,
I have a report on a page that allows for CSV output. For some reason when I look at the output the first column in the header row includes div information and appears as follows:

    All,
As was pointed out in earlier replies, this is being caused by enabling PPR pagination. If PPR and CSV export are both needed, I would suggest using the pre-3.1 style PPR report templates. Those have the PPR stuff burned in directly.
I did fix the underlying bug though, yet this is not in the latest 3.1.1 patch release. So I don't know when this fix will become available.

As I said earlier, it doesn't work because there is no folder component in the UNC paths in the "home" column.
A UNC path is \\Server\Share followed by the folder\file path within that share.
What you have there labeled "Folder" is actually a share name, which may or may not be the name of the folder being shared.  What the OP requested after you posted the initial solution was how to split the folder name off of a \\server\share\folder
    unc path.
I agree the split is faster.  Based on that timing it will take the split-path method about 88 seconds go through 100K records, where the split method will take about 7 seconds.
But I'm willing to bet there's a lot more than that minute and change difference in the time it took to write those two scripts.
FWIW, for processing large text files you can usually get better results if you can leverage Get-Content with a ReadCount of 1-2000 files, and then use -replace as an array operator to do the text manipulation.  This reduces your disk I/O operations

  • All the data getting exported in the first column of csv while exporting

    Hi All,
In 11.5.10.2, I have a page with advanced table region. Am using OA Framework's export button to export the results.
But, problem is, All the results are getting exported in the first column of the output .csv file. Why such a behavior?
Profile Option of 'Export MIME Type' value is text/text-separted-values.
Any ideas would be of timely help. Thanks.
    Regards, Soorya

From OAF standpoint, it just exports the data. Data interpretation is completely dependent on client machine and excel setups.
Please check the Data-->Text to Columns wizard where we can specify the delimiter(s) on excel.
Not sure if this can be set up in Apps, so that we need not change on every end-user machine.
    Hope this helps.

    Lily,
I made some changes to your table def but you will get the idea
    -- Table EMPLOYEE
    CREATE TABLE EMPLOYEE
      EMPID        NUMBER                           NOT NULL,
      EMPNICKNAME  VARCHAR2(10 BYTE)                    NULL,
      FNAME        VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)                NOT NULL,
      MI           VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)                    NULL,
      LNAME        VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)                NOT NULL,
      FULLNAME     VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)                NOT NULL,
HIREDATE     DATE                             DEFAULT SYSDATE               NOT NULL
    --  data file employee.dat
    1,amy,b,amy b
    2,cindy,d,cindy d
    3,eric,f,eric f
    4,gary,h,gary
-- Control file : Employee.ctl ( you can use truncate, replace or append , see sqlldr for more options)
    load data
    Truncate into table employee
    fields terminated by ","
    optionally enclosed by '"'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS
    empId INTEGER EXTERNAL,
    FName char(20),
    LName char(20),
    FullName char(30)
now to load use following or you can speicify infile in control fle
    sqlldr username/passowrd control=employee.ctl  data=employee.dat log=employee.log
    {code}
    Hope this help.

It has been fixed but the new problem is: After signout, if I move back to previous page and click some link using <- sign then I suppose to get the login page, but i am getting
ORA-44004: invalid qualified SQL name error message.
The source for my login page is
    wwv_flow_custom_auth_std.login(
    P_UNAME => :P101_USERNAME,
    P_PASSWORD => :P101_PASSWORD,
    P_SESSION_ID => v('APP_SESSION'),
    P_FLOW_PAGE => :APP_ID||':1'
    );
