APEX application starts very slow

Hi all,
I have developed a small apex application for my website. I am running this application on OracleXE. Every time I when I log in the response is extremily slow. It will take approx. 1 min before the login page appears, then it takes another 20 sec. before the homepage appears. After that you can notice that the application is getting faster and faster. If I stop working with the application and I start working again after 1 hour the same thing happens.
I log in localy, not thru my website, but I can imagine that people that approach the application thru the website will experience the same.
What is causing this ? Is the database going into some sort of 'sleeping mode' ?
How can I prevent this ? The database is (ofcourse) running 24/7. Any help will be appreciated, because people will stay away when everytime the responsetime is as long as 1 min before they can login.

Pulseaudio starting very slow

For some reason, pulseaudio is starting very slow on my system, even when it was a fresh install.
I was seeing very bad startup performance with several programs: firefox, hotot, etc. I did an strace on them and found they were stuck on waiting for a PID associated with pulse for about a half minute. When I turned off autospawn in the pulse config file, these programs loaded instantly, even if I put
pulseaudio --start
in my i3 config.
I'm not familiar enough to know how to debug this. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do to get more information?
My sound devices are the integrated audio from my motherboard (Intel), my Nvidia graphics card, and my webcam (HD Dualpix).

Not enough free space on the disk can slow the system down.
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
Try removing login items. Open System Preferences > Users & Groups then select the Login Items tab. Remove all items.
And go to HD > Library > StartupItems. Remove all items from the StrartupItems folder.
Check the startup disk.
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you can access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.
Be aware, OS X Recovery requires a high speed broadband connection.
And backup all your important files before repairing or restoring OS X just in case.

Check your system Login/startup items in OS X System Preferences under the Accounts icon- Login items tab.
If you have more than 6 items trying to launch at startup, you need want to remove these apps from the automatic launch/startup list
Add or remove automatic items
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups.
Select your user account, then click Login Items.
Do one of the following:
Click Add below the list on the right, select an app, document, folder, or disk, then click Add.
If you don’t want an item’s windows to be visible after login, select Hide. (Hide does not apply to servers, which always appear in the Finder after login.)
Select the name of the item you want to prevent from opening automatically, then click Delete below the list on the right.

It sounds like you would like to erase your MacBook Pro and install a new copy of OS X, but the Mac does not boot to OS X Recovery when you hold the Command + R keys during startup.
If your Mac came with OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) or earlier, I recommend referring to the steps in this article:

For a newer Mac (OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite), try reinstalling OS X by using Internet Recovery, as described in the "OS X Internet Recovery" section on this page:

Applications is very slow after an each deployment

I'm using JDeveloper 11g 10.1.1.3
I've developed the little aplication with Oracle ADF (full stack: ADF BC, ADF Model, ADF Controller, ADF RC).
That's work fine on the integrated WLS.
Next, I have the standalone WLS on SUSE 11. And I have the next problem: my application works very slow after deploying (for about 15 second for each request), but that is only first time for every page (or every page fragment).
After one user opened the page, all others users open it perfectly fast. Even after rebooting of the server the application is working fast.
I've tried to deploy another applications to that WLS, and to the another WLS, but I have the same problem.
I think there is something wrong with deploying (I deploy all applications from JDeveloper).
That problem doesn't appear with integrated WLS.
What could it be? Maybe, that is usual thing and I shouldn't use JDeveloper's deployment profile?

Hi Anatolii,
Cany you please generate a Thread Dump during load and after deploying your application. This will be able to show us where time is spent during that 15 seconds of your client requests. You also may want to capture the JVM memory figures before and after your deployment by using tool of your choice or simply enabling verbose GC on Java process.
If problem is only happening post redeploy, then you may want to look at some possible native memory leak (classloader leak) here.
On most of our production systems, we always restart (preventive measure) the WL server post deployment, to prevent any build up/leak of native memory (class descriptors etc.).

After installing NI Scope 3.5 RS232 in my application is very slow!

I am using NI5114 Digitizer. After installing NI Scope 3.5 RS232 in my application is very slow. Un-installing Scope driver doesn’t help. Serial communication from my application (developed in CVI) is permanently crippled. The only fix is re-installing Windows. It happened on three different computers. I am stuck with this problem. Please help

I'm very curious about where you received your NI-Scope v3.5 from, the latest version currently available is v3.4, this can be found here.
NI-Scope does install NI-VISA, which will affect your serial ports in Labview.
What version of NI-Scope does MAX show?
What version of NI-Visa does MAX show?
You could try un-installing both of those drivers then re-installing the NI-Scope v3.4 driver.
Please do post back the results of checking the version installed of NI-Scope and NI-Visa.

Application start verry slow

It takes an APEX applications on Windows Home Server 2003 a long time (+/- 70 sec.) to response when accessed through the internet. When the same application is started by the network it is very fast.
In the router I forwarded the ports 8080, 2030 en 1521 to the server. The shared_servers is set to 5.

There are a lot of things to check here:
1) Server networking settings
2) Router settings for internal network (including DNS forwarding)
3) ping time from external source to server (may indicate lag)
4) DNS resolution from external source to server
5) DNS resolution from server to external network
and more
I run an APEX application over a distributed VPN and I only see a couple of seconds of lag, tops, so something is definitely not right.

Imac starting very slow

Since a few day my iMac is starting very slowly (at least 5 to 10 min). I don't know if I have done something wrong or my childrens...
Soft is up to date. I've got a HDD external for Time Machine but I have the same trouble with or without.
Only one internal HDD.
The model is 20 inch from early 2008, running under OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63).

Oracle ADF Mobile application is very slow in Android

I am new to oracle ADF.
When I tried to deploy an application in an android device it takes a lot of time to deploy as well as every button click in the application takes more time to load. Is there any way to speed up the deployment process ?

Why is the Application becoming very slow

I am using DSC version 7.0 and have connected about 25 tags in tag engine to PLC
and siemens drive. I also have about 15 tags connected directly through data socket.
The problem is that when I run my application it becomes very slow and sometimes the
PC also hangs. When I run this application with memory tags, there is no problem.
PC has 256MB RAM and clock speed 1.33 GHz.

So Google Chrome crashed for 2 times and now its starting extremely slow. I check console and these are the errors:
CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x1000): p=787[ksadmin] clearing CS_VALID
CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page(0x1000): p=790[ksadmin] clearing CS_VALID
What is the problem? These messages appear everytime when Google Chrome started to start up slowly. And this is only happening for one user account on my Macbook Pro (10.7.4).

Application suddenly very slow in debug mode?

I have a WPF desktop application with 10 or so projects. I am using Visual Studio 10.0 SP1. All of a sudden, it has become extremely slow in debug mode - to the point that I can not even debug it.
The same application runs just fine in debug mode on another pc where I am using Visual Studio 2013 Express. I am using SVN to keep the two copies in sync. No new software or windows update has been installed. Even nothing material has changed in the code.
I looked at the VS debug options on both machines and there is no major difference - using default settings.
Any idea what may be wrong? What should I look for?

I take it the path you're using hasn't changed?
You didn't suddenly decide to work off a network drive or pick a very long path to the source ( yes that stuffs things up ).
If you're using the same code and it works fine on one machine but not the other then your visual studio install is probably broke somehow on the slow machine.
I would do an install > refresh.

SQL Developer starting very slow

Im using SQL Developer 1.5.4 on Windows XP pro service pack 3
It had been working fine for a long time. Then suddenly starting take a very long time to start.
It is taking about 1 minute to load the splash screen, then about 1 more minute for the progress bar to display and start, then a while to actually show the window. All together its taking 2 to 4 minutes to load.
Could this be something with reading TNSNames? I find it strange that it is taking so long to show the splash screen. This is also happening on other computers in my office. They all started doing this at the same time.
And ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have your systems recently had new Microsoft applications, updates, or patches installed? That happened here last weekend and one of the new items caused a noticeable slowdown (things were taking about twice as long). Once I totally disabled the offending item (Microsoft Desktop Search) and re-booted, things were back to normal.
