API for bulk loading of pages into UCM

For Oracle Universal Content Management –
Is there an API for use in bulk loading pages?
Where is the documentation for this?
If there is not API, what is the best way to bulk load 10’s of thousands of pages into UCM?
Thanks in advance,
Ram

To easily bulk load files in UCM, you can use the BatchLoader utility described in chapter 7 (in release 10g or chapter 3 in release 11g) of the 'Managing System Settings and Processes' admin guide.
We used it on our project to load some 60000 documents in UCM with associated metadata in just over 1 hour. Worked fine.
Brgrds,
Bob Marien
(Ps: if you want to use an API instead, you can ofcourse invoke the UCM webservices)

Ive just learned that i can use loadjava to load jsp pages into the database. How is that possible. How can someone go to my lets say, index.jsp page and actually see it if its inside the database? What authenticates it? Where would you set the parameters to tell http(apache) to look inside the db for the pages?
    Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. If I put the file on the database, does it have to be in a particular location? I've put it on the database server, launched sql*plus (as APPS) and ran the following:
    execute dbms_java.loadjava('-v', 'ZebraGetPrinterFromXML.class');
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed. Then when I try to run a process that uses this I get this:
ORA-29540: class ZebraGetPrinterFromXML does not exist

  • Firefox freezes when I load new pages into new tabs. This started a few weeks ago after I downloaded the latest update to firefox, currently running 7.0.1

After installing the latest update to Firefox a couple of weeks ago, loading new pages into new tabs takes a very very long time IF the page loads at all. I usually have to close the original tab to get the new tabs to load their pages. Sometimes I have to close all Firefox windows and start over to get the page I want to load.
This only started after downloading and installing this new update. I had no problem with new pages/tabs with previous versions.
I have rebooted, run full scans with Spyware Doctor, Malwarebytes and McAfee without solving the problem.

  • Loading another page into frameset

    Hi,
I have divided my BSP page into 3 frames. On click of a button I want to load another page into one of the frame. Could you please let me know how to do it.
    Regards,
    Ravi G

    Hi Friend,
I have designed in a way similar to yours.
In one frame, I have tree in which all its leaves have a link.
Clicking a link on one frame will display the corresponding page on the other frame.
All the pages displaying in the frame were designed separately.
tree.do refers to the name of the controller in which this content get displayed in the left and default.do refers to the name of the controller whose content get displayed in the right in default.
Clicking the link on the left specified in the tree will replace the default.do  content with a table named deptable.do.
In the below code specified  zpgms1 refers to the application name and pagedivider.do refers to the name of the controller  in which the page was divided into frames.
Tree.do page holds the codings in which tree was designed and the link attribute holds default.do page initially and clicking the link would activate the deptable page which is assigned to a variable.
In the below code I'm replacing the content of default.do  by concatenating the default.do code with deptable.do
    <htmlb:form action = "/sap/bc/bsp/sap/zpgms1/pagedivider.do"
                          target = "_top"
                          method = "post" >
                  <htmlb:treeNode id          = "subnode2"
                                   link              = "default.do?&tag=deptable"
                                target          = "right"
                                  image         = "@03@"
                                  text          = "Department MasterTable"/>
                               </htmlb:treeNode>
In the defaullt.htm page specify the codings below.
    <%
      data: tag     type string,
            control type string.
      tag = request->get_form_field( 'tag' ).
      if tag is not initial.
concatenate tag '.do'       (deptable name gets concatenated here and assigned to the src )
        into control.
      endif.
    %>
    <%
    if tag is not initial.
    %>
    <htmlb:content design = "design2003" controlRendering="sap" rtlAutoSwitch="true">

  • Loading new pages into frames

    Hey Murray
    or anyone else : )
This might seem like a redundant question but it would seem
there is some confusion surrounding it.
I say this because I can't seem to get an answer.
I have a site that uses a page with a frame and a swf control
( just a swf with buttons that load the new pages into the frame.
click on photos and it loads the photos.html page into that frame
    and so on. )
I won't work in IE just displays errors. Is there a work
    around?
Is there a better way to do this that would just entail
    building a new nav control?
Any help would be great!!! please bear in mind it must work
    in IE, FF & SAFARI
    thanks in advance Von

I suspect that is caused by the Web forum, not the iPhone.
    The vast
majority of double posts come from Web users rather than
    newsgroup
    users.

Judging from his previous posts on the subject, I don't think
    you
misinterpreted him at all. He has often posted a
    comprehensive article
on the disadvantages of using Flash navigation and many
    others
    discourage it as well.
And you would be hard pressed to find anybody anywhere
    encouraging
the use of frames in any but the most limited cases these
    days.
I can see where you might want to use a frame here, but since
    it seems
to be an all Flash site, why not use Flash's built-in
    features to load
other movies. I think that would be loadMovie().

OK. I revise that with my 3rd paragraph below.
    > The error that is being displayed is simply "error on
    page" in

    > clicking on any of the links in the flash nav bar.
I wasn't able to get that far. In IE 7, I chose No when it
    asked me to
upgrade the Flash plugin to version 10. I am left with a big
    black
window containing the [Get Flash Player] icon and
    non-functioning links
    at the bottom.
There are a large number of people who surf the Web from
    their office -
or office-supplied computers. They often do not have the
    access to
    install software.
Since this appears to be a 100% Flash site, you are not
    really
restricting use to the mentioned browsers, but restricting
    use to
browsers with Flash Player 10 capability.
And they must scroll to the right if their browser viewport
    is less
    than 1024.

Were you able to see Alan's first reply? He may have guessed
    what the
    problem is.
If that doesn't do it, I suspect you might have better luck
    in one
of the Flash forums. There may be more people in there
    accustomed to
    creating Flash-only sites.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance, but FWIW, one or more
    of the
"pages" seems to link to a broken "Untitled_Document.flv"
    file.

  • User Interface for bulk loading images using interMedia

I would like to create an interface where users could bulk load images to a database. Has anyone created a web (or other) interface that would perhaps call a PL/SQL procedure or SQLloader?
Is there a way for users to upload images from there own computers in bulk? Would they need to utilize SQLPLUS?
While I have seen the examples and plan to create a web interface for uploading images one at a time, I have been requested to find a way for the users to upload images in bulk themselves (instead of them requesting us technical people to do it).
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi,
There's a sample on OTN that discusses loading multimedia data in bulk into the interMedia types using both SQL*Plus (with PL/SQL) and SQL*Loader. Check out the following URL: http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/intermedia/htdocs/avi_bulk_loading.html
One major difference to consider between SQL*Loader and SQL*Plus (with PL/SQL) is that SQL*Loader can load data from files on the machine running SQL*Loader, which may be a different machine than the database, although it still needs an Oracle installation. Whereas SQL*Plus with PL/SQL can load data only from directories that are accessible to the database server and that have been defined in the server using the CREATE DIRECTORY command, which requires privs. Also note there are restrictions and issues specific to both NT and Unix when it comes to access network directories from the server.
If SQL*Loader looks like a possibility, you might want to think about a simple Java program, Perl script, or some such, to create the SQL*Loader scripts. On the other hand, if you get into Java, then you could use Java to do the upload and, at the same time, provide some level of application-specific user interaction and/or error reporting, etc. Its easy to get a list of file names in a directory using the File.list or File.listFiles methods in Java. On the other hand, if we talking LOTs of files, then SQL*Loader may turn out to be more efficient.
In order to better understand the variety of ways in which our customers are using interMedia, we'd be very interested in knowing a little more about your application, the interMedia functionality that you are using, and how you are developing and deploying your application. If you are able to help us, please send a short email message with some information about your application, together with any comments you may have, to the Oracle interMedia Product Manager, Joe Mauro, at [email protected]. Thank you!

  • Best practice guide for Batch Load utility in Oracle UCM.

    Hi,
Is there any best practice guide for Oracle UCM Batch Loader utility.
We are looking for information regarding batch size in terms of number and size of contents. Also is there any loading time standards considering the contents are uploaded in filesystem where filestore provider is configured?
    Thanks,
    Krishnendu

    Hi ,
There are no specific set of steps / practices for batch loading contents to ucm . It would be very much dependent on how many contents does the user have to load to UCM and how well the server is configured in terms of performance .
You can get more details from the following documentation link : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21043_01/doc.1111/e10792/c02_settings009.htm

  • API for clearing cache of page items

Is there an API for clearing the cache of page items? I see there is a procedure called CLEAR_PAGE_CACHE in APEX_UTIL package to clear the cache of all the items on a page, but wanted the equivalent for an item. Maybe I'm making this harder than needed. No idea.
I realize there is the option of creating a page process called "Clear Cache for Items (ITEM,ITEM,ITEM)" on a page, but I am trying to do this in an application-level process.

    FYI... I found that using [ apex_util.set_session_state ( 'item name', '' ); ] worked for me.

  • How to prevent Evaluate User Policies to run for Bulk loaded users?

    Hi,
I have an OIM 11G R2 environment, where i did a bulk load of abount 200,000+ users, and all the users' accounts were created using target recon.
How do I prevent the evaluate user policies scheduler from running for these users?
    Any ideas are welcome.
    Thanks,
    Aravind Suresh

    Hi,
I do have roles and access policies.
But i do not want them to applied to them at this stage as they already got everything through target recon.
Only for new users or these users on update i want the evaluate user policies to run.
Otherwise running evaluate user policies for these many users could be a very time and resource consuming task.
    Thanks,

  • MupdfPage: an add-on for mupdf for auto-loading/saving page numbers

I love MuPDF, but it doesn't store page number before you exit as other viewers do. I wrote a new header 'pdfpage.h' under the 'apps' directory and hacked 'pdfapps.c' a bit so that now it auto-saves and loads page numbers. The hack is based on a svn version, which keeps changing and makes patching hard, so I put my hacks in the README.txt.
The source can be retrived here: https://github.com/kaikaizi/mupdfPage/
    To use, clone latest source:
    git clone git://git.ghostscript.com/mupdf.git
drop 'pdfpage.h' into apps directory, and apply the 4 changes in 'pdfapps.c'.

Check out llpp and zathura. The former uses mupdf to render PDFs, the latter can (with a plugin). Both are very fast (llpp just FLIES), and have that auto-loading/saving page numbers. And, zathura has genious keybindings.
    But cool project. Thanks.

  • Load html page into a table area

I have an html page that I would like to add to a table area
on my main page. How do I do this? Can anyone help?

Investigate "server-side includes". But beware - you CANNOT
    put a
stand-alone HTML page INTO a stand-alone HTML page. You have
    to make the
incoming HTML into a fragment so that the final assembled
    page still
    validates.

  • Shell scripts for bulk loading

    Hello
Does ECM have the capability to use operating system shell scripts to perform bulk loading?

There is a guide on this. Here is the 10g one.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10316_01/cs/cs_doc_10/sdk/idc_command_reference/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm
You generate batch files with commands (service calls) which can be run from command line or shell script.
    So yes.
the commands in this question would be to execute Batchloader.

  • Allocated ATP derivation for bulk loads and stealing

    Gurus,
We are designing a solution where the requirement is to derive ATP for more than a million items every day. For around a 250,000 items, we need to know the maximum quantity available for an item, org, demand class (including Stealing).
We need to know the availability for future dates (like Horizontal plan) which includes stealing. We are using Allocated ATP and we are in R12.2.3.
    Questions:
    1) As per the document (Doc ID 150908.1) ATP API Description R12 (ATP API MRP_ATP_PUB.Call_ATP) the API can be used derive multiple items in a single call. Is there a limit on the number of items can be passed in a single call?
    2) Can we derive ATP values including stealing in a single call? If so, which of the output record type can be referred to ATP_Rec_Typ, ATP_Period_Typ and ATP_Supply_Demand_Typ?
    3) Can we derive future availability of items in a single call? We saw the output of X_ATP_PERIOD which seem to give the horizontal plan. Can we get the availability with stealing in horizontal plan in a single ATP call itself?
    4) If API is not the suitable approach, can you please let us know the table/logic that can be used for derivation?
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Ram.

What's the benefit of including "IF  :NEW.col1  IS NULL" statement? If I leave it out and someone tries to insert a value not using the trigger it changes the value for me. I can see that being good and bad, but it keeps them from not using the sequence.
The benefit is that it allows you to manually assign the column value if you want to. Whether that is a 'benefit' for your use case or not is for you to decide.
But I'm trying to decide when and if I should use this. I wouldn't consider it but we've got Informatica developers that insist on writing dynamic sql functions to pull values for sequences to use in inserts because they can't reference the nextval in the their workflows.
Don't use Informatica to do something that can be done using Oracle. The strength and utility of an ETL tool is in doing things that the database either can NOT do or cannot do efficiently: for example pulling data from multiple databases and flat files for insert into a target database. The goal being to get ALL of the data into the target database as quickly and efficiently as possible. Then you can apply the full power of the target database to ALL of the data.
